    For the first 15 minutes of this video, I was wondering why you were going 2nd to 1st on every stop. Explanation is at 15:38 for anyone else wondering. This is why your lengthy videos are great, the info is there and rewarding for anyone patient...or obsessed!

    I agree with the it's time. I feel the same way about my situation. I have a 2014 Corolla S which is my very first car and I absolutely love that car for it's reliability and never giving me a problem. The only thing I had to replace in the 2 1/2 years of owning it was a set of tires and a gas cap. In about 3 1/2 weeks it's time to depart with it and I'm going to get a VW GTI Performance Pack.

    I don't think it's a stupid move. I shopped around a lot before making a purchase. I love my 350 and can't say that I'd trade it for anything remotely close to it in price.

      I'm currently in my bmw phase, and I dream of buying a m4 competition package but when the 350 came out, it just changed my perspective on mustangs... don't know why but there is something special about it :)

    • @DonkeyEvo
      @DonkeyEvo 8 лет назад +2

      The 350 is a damn good bargain, I appreciate any well engineered performance car. I've owned 3 evo's an sti, Raptor etc. I shopped e46 m3's years ago but so many small issues drove me away, then the e92 was too expensive at the time. I looked hard at used m3/m4's as I am a huge turbo fan and love every single one of the new M series cars. The m2 just didn't do it for me, the interior is much, nicer and fit and finish is too.. same thing (obviously on another level completely on the m3/m4 depending on options) the 350 is just a drivers car that is as you said special. You don't forget that when you drive it. It's not the fastest, it's not the best handling (it is very good) it's not the nicest. It' just great overall and it's a damn fun car to drive that continues to impress me.

    At the end of the day YOU are buying the car. Everyone buys an enthusiast car loves it for a while and eventually moves on to a different platform after a while. I hope you enjoy your new journey. Can't wait so see some Shelby videos.

    Not sure if this was covered in one of the other 225 comments, but the leather seats (at least on the 2017) are leather with Suede inserts. The bolstering isn't as aggressive as the cloth Recaros, but I'm on the skinnier side of average and they keep me in place well.
    I picked up a 2017 grabber blue w/white stripes in June. I came from a pretty built Evo X and I'm really happy with it. The GT350 is the first car I've ever owned where I've had zero desire to modify.

    • @ObsessedGarage
      @ObsessedGarage  7 лет назад

      Yeah, I didn't want leather. The Recaros really make the interior. I'm going to work on making work for me.

    Super honest opinion of the M3. It is true that so many cars sound better and your GT350 will be one of the best sounding cars you can own. I know you've been getting some flack for getting rid of the M3 but to each his own as they say. It's all about the driving experience and that's such a personal thing. I drove a new GT350 and I thought it was pretty sick, and that sound...awsome! I personally still want an M3 because it checks all the boxes for me except exhaust note. Now if I could have 2 cars I would take the GT350 any day along with the M3. Anyway I am looking forward to seeing where this goes with the Mustang. Congrats it really is a badass ride Matt.

    Hi Matt, the name GT350 came from Carroll telling his chief designer that he would need to name the new platform back in the day and the GT350 street version would be a close version of the race version. Carroll Shelby asked Vernon how far was the factory race assembly shop from the area shop that Shelby street cars were made. Vernon answered Shelby 350 feet Carroll. So caroll said ok then I'll call the new Shelby the GT350 so hence was born the baby brother of the GT500. Steve Montreal Quebec Canada

    Just got rid of my 2015 M3 this week, very similar spec but no carbon brakes and a moonroof. We had chatted on here before, I felt with ASD disabled the sound was decent, deep down low and I like the "fart dumps" haha. The engine was rather soulless sounding however. Turn in on this generation is leaps and bounds better than past M3's and was downright impressive for the size and weight, I could really push it hard in surprisingly tight switchbacks even if the car itself felt a bit large. I was able to enjoy many canyon drives here in LA and this car truly did move the M3 performance level to a whole other plane. With this being said, it was time for me to move on also. I didn't have a deep emotional connection with the car either, great looks and performance but not super memorable.

    Some may find this trade wierd but if I had this M3 and Porsche GT3, I would do exactly the same thing since GT3's perfection kinda spoils you. In this situation, an American V8 would seem something refreshing and enjoyable indeed

    • @DonkeyEvo
      @DonkeyEvo 8 лет назад

      Justin Lenart I actually emailed him about a few things and included the clutch spring as a must do mod. It was for me anyway but people who like super light clutches may not mind it.

    • @justinlenart3187
      @justinlenart3187 8 лет назад

      DonkeyEvo I've heard of people taking the spring out all together, I heard that will do damage but not immediate damage, you know smoking 1 cigarette isn't going to effect you, but smoking a pack a day for 20 years will take a toll, type thing. My friend did the mod on his gt and it made a noticeable difference idk how it affects gt350's.

    • @DonkeyEvo
      @DonkeyEvo 8 лет назад

      The biggest difference on the 350 is it use's a 2 stage spring, a large main spring a small spring of a softer preload spring type spring. This seemingly makes the pedal easier to push the further it goes into it's travel.. It almost feels like you lose the clutch as the resistance typical doesn't drop in a clutch. While releasing the clutch it is again, super light at the early point of release and as the clutch gets closer to engagement it seems to push your foot off the clutch. It makes driving the car smoothly difficult imo. For $14 dollar's the clutch spring is one of those "what do you have to lose?" mods. Really the car needs nothing out of the box. I will be doing camber plates and catch cans (actually have them, just not installed yet) and hopefully a Watson roll bar and harnesses and some lighter, wider seats over the winter. (I love the stock seats but they are a bit tight for my build and I would rather preserve them).

    also don't you think quality is going to bother you being used to Porsche and bmw ..I remember when you got the raptor you were annoyed about certain quality control issues because it's a Ford...now you will have two Ford's

      I think I'll be okay. I may make a few fit and finish changes, but the car looks better than expected.

    Why justifying getting rid of M3 to get a Mustang? Just do it. It's your coin. It seems that you need a new thing every week to keep entertained.
    I'm not judging, I'm at times acting the same way. There may be a way to resist the urge and appropriate funds to more charitable ways.
