    All I would say on this basis, is that Newcastle fans act like they’re the on,y team with a bad owner, when there’s many more teams out there with owners who are just as bad (Southampton, Burnley, Norwich etc) and many that are worse and cause their clubs to go into administration

    • @smellyalienp4414
      @smellyalienp4414 3 года назад

      As a Newcastle fan, I can't speak for everyone, but I know most of our fans accept that other clubs are worse off - but that doesn't mean we aren't poorly ran. It doesn't mean we don't have our own problems, and it doesn't mean we can't want better and want more ambition. It could be worse for us, but I've always said, we could be the next club that goes into administration with the way things were going. I do feel for the fans of those clubs that are suffering, leagues need more regualtions to prevent awful owners, to prevent what happened with Derby, Bury and Bolton etc.

    • @elijahkhaira
      @elijahkhaira 3 года назад

      @@smellyalienp4414 yeah I completely agree, it’s just it’s always Newcastle that go on about their owners and very few clubs get the levels of coverage on this that they do, as well as their fans acting like they’re treated by far the worst out there, was just my point.

    • @stephenwilliams5575
      @stephenwilliams5575 Год назад

      @@elijahkhaira I know this is a late reply but I feel I have to mention that these other owners whilst indeed are worse don't have the slick PR campaign Ashley had that convinced the media that we were unrealistic and delusional and a small club.
      Looking where we are right now less than 18 months after this interview shows we were being deliberately and maliciously held back by that scumbag.

    • @elijahkhaira
      @elijahkhaira Год назад

      @@stephenwilliams5575 sorry but he didn’t “hold you back” as he just simply stopped giving you loads of money to spend, but at least had given you lots previously. Whilst these new owners you’ve got are basically doing the opposite by giving you as much money as you want, to spend on players!
      Whilst the owners for many other clubs won’t give them the money now, haven’t previously and don’t look like they’re going to in the near future ether! As I’m not saying that Newcastle had nothing to complain about, but really they were still having a much better time than many other teams out there who are still in the same situation that they’ve always been in, whilst back in the 90’s and again now, Newcastle are doing fairly well

Since then it’s been City and Chelsea with no history and with their gloryhunting fans buying most of the titles and now Newcastle will join them in buying success, it’s just so plastic. @@lukepemberton4935 tbf he did kind of sum it up quite well. I watch football. The 90's were dominated by Utd, with Arsenal being a force from 98-02, and Chelsea being a force from 04+. He's not that far off. Only reason I give Utd a bit more slack for spending money, is because a lot of their domination came because they either brought players through their academy, or developed players at a young age (see Ronaldo for instance). I don't believe Utd spent over £40m on a player in the SAF era. Chelsea and Man City outright bought success. I don't even mind. The only four teams in existence who never bought success and had success over a long period were Liverpool of the 70's (and their squad now), AC Milan and Man Utd of the 90's and 00's, and the Messi/Xavi/Iniesta era at Barca. That's pretty much it, you need to buy success now. It's what it is.

    Like millions of other football fans I recognize that Newcastle Football Club is a proverbial sleeping-giant, and a revival would be great for our sport, but, like a few million others, I am troubled by 'the-baggage' that ownership by Saudi Arabia of this very English institution will bring-with-it. Will females, IF they travel to Saudi, be compelled to dress in 14th-century subservience to males? Will they accept they cannot-walk-alone down a Saudi street? - As with the WORLD CUP being played in that giant legendary home of football, the sand-dunes of 'QATAR', I'm far from the only one troubled by unspoken-of implications of this-takeover.

    Did Newcastle fans really hate Ashley that much that they would rather have a genocidal dictatorship investing in the club?
    Neville and most of the Sky team nearly nearly had a aneurysm over the super league but don’t have much in the way of negative press about this 🤔
