I'm a Royals fan, and 2015 was the most fun I've ever had in my 30+ years of watching baseball. I did vote all Royals for the All-Star Game, but I only did it once. There was this prevailing expectation, this faith, that the Royals would play the All-Star Game and win home field advantage for our inevitable return to the Fall Classic, and then ALL of that happened. Beat the Mets in 5 games and had a parade on a beautiful November day in Kansas City. It was jubilant, with nearly one million people crammed together in front of Union Station and on the lawn of the World War I memorial. Out of everyone there, there was NO division - no christians or atheists, no democrats or republicans - everyone there was a ROYALS fan and that's ALL that mattered. The KCPD reported only 3 arrests during the event and I've never been more proud of my city.

Great video. I was afraid almost halfway through that it was a hit piece against the fun loving royals that brought me so much joy. I believe you're right that the small celebrations put a target on their backs, especially with the "that's what speed do" gesture (we only get the start of speedster Billy Butler's gesture here: ruclips.net/video/JbLd7vlrDMY/видео.html though we see the dugout giving it back to him) but stealing bases and putting the ball in play gets fans engaged. I'm conflicted; I love the long ball, I love dominant pitching, and I also love scrappy baseball
A big point to remember is how KC fans felt that Royals players were disrespected during the 2012 All-Star Game (when KC hosted). Fan favorite Billy Butler was among the league leaders in homers, but he was left off the Home Run Derby. Royals fans let their voice be heard then. So many people thought the 2014 Royals were a fluke, and then Royals players were disrespected by the opposing teams (and somewhat vilified by the media). So once again, Royals fans decided to get their back. It's not like it was wholly underserved either. KC had just come off a World Series appearance, and they had the best record in the AL. Escobar, Gordon, Perez, and Hosmer were all gold glovers; Cain should have won one by then (he finished 3rd in MVP voting that season), Moose had a nice bounce back season, and Morales wasn't exactly a slouch at the plate. Infante and Rios were just funny though.
What would you think about doing a video on the 2016 Texas Ranger? They were a team that had the best record in the league but only 12th in run differential.

Hey I'd love to see a video of the 07 Phillies run. It gets over looked alot due to the Rockies run. The Phillies were 7 behind the Mets with 17 games left and went 14-3 including a 4 game sweep vs the Mets. Just think if they went 13-5 or lost 1 of those 4 vs the Mets we could of had 2 game 163 in 07.
We went from underdog boys in 2014 to villains in 2015. Couldn’t have been a more fun stretch of fandom. The bullpen, the speed, the salvy splash, getting Cueto, Moose ascending after struggling for so long, Gordon being so clutch…. So fun.
I remember a lot of non-Royals fans said they would vote for the Royals so to make a mockery of fan voting. The attention and complaints Is what led to Omar Infante’s support to spike upward.
When the 2015 Royals traded for Ben Zobrist, I wasn't entirely sure what he was for, and all the articles called him a "utility man" capable of playing almost any position. The question marks at the time were RF Paulo Orlando (the sub for the injured Alex Rios) and Infante, and because Infante and Alcides Escobar had an almost telepathic connection in the middle infield I thought for sure Zobrist would be playing CF with Lorenzo Cain taking RF and benching Orlando. Shows how much I knew. Without Zobrist taking over for Infante the Royals probably don't win the WS in 2015. IIRC Infante was batting under .100 in July before Zobrist came onboard. Zobrist was a perfect complement to the rest of the contact-hitting Royals, batting moneyball style right behind the white-hot free-swinging Escobar. Meanwhile, having Rios batting at 9 was a luxury compared to what the other AL playoff contenders generally had there. It also took the pressure off Rios to perform and allowed his form to return in time for the postseason.
The Royals really weren’t a team you could hate. I’m a Tiger’s fan, and as much as it pained me to see a division rival win it all when my team didn’t, I’m glad it was the Royals

I may get hated because of this, but MLB should have done what they did after Cincinnati. Fans get to vote for the final roster spot, maybe they can do campaigns for players, but that’s it. The rosters should be decided by the players, managers and coaches.

Way to leave out the fact that Scott Kazmir tried to knee cap Lorenzo Cain in that game where Kelvin threw at Lawrie. The issue had been resolved when Ventura hit Lawrie in a blowout got tossed and everything was fine until Oakland tried to take out another Royals player.
I remember being so mad Moose got that final roster spot over Brian Dozier (since the Royals had enough players on the AL roster). Dozier's game performances before the ASG helped him make his case. In the end Dozier replaced some injured player and preformed better than Moose in the ASG. So, I'm very happy and content with that! (Win Twins!)
