My mom was a teacher of blind students. She would play this song for them in her classroom. She was a mother figure to many of her kids and they loved her for it. As she was declining in her eighties, I'd play this for her and eventhough her memory was going from dementia and 89 years of life, she remembered this song and the words. Something that really sells me on an artist is when they can perform live and still sound great. Of course, I know the recorded versions can be beautiful and take a lot of work too, but just seeing this raw type of skill which doesn't need to be edited is so amazing. I remember having autoimmune meningitis for weeks when this debuted...and doctors kept telling me I had a migraine. This song literally carried me through many dark moments laying in that dark room, begging for the pain to stop. Finally, on the fourth week, the “don’t give up” of this song lead me to the hospital one last time....and I finally was heard. A spinal tap showed meningitis..and a week of treatment in the hospital and 5 months recovering at home...and I was okay. I still have chronic migraines (18-25 a month)...but this song literally saved me.

I have a son who moved to Spain in early January to start a new life and bought a business... Unfortunately his wife and children came back to England on early February... Its a long story really.. Just giving bare facts.... The countries going into lockdown has meant he was there on his own.. He managed to get to know a few people beforehand... I sent this song to him.. Coz I knew there'd be times when he would be feeling down with not being able to both run his business and see his family..... Its helped me sooo much too. His early albums have fewer of his songs, and his later albums have more, although it doesn't matter. Everything sounds beautiful in his performance. This has become my six year old son's favorite song. He is high functioning autistic and when I really listened to the lyrics, yes,this could be a theme for autism.I've always loved this song but it now has a very different meaning for me.
My Dads favorite singer was Josh Groban. My dad passed from this Virus on May 4th. My dad was a singer and sang at Carnegie Hall a few times when he was younger as a trio with his brother and sister. I am also a singer and "Hallellujah" at my dads small graveside service in the rain. We also played "Bridge Over Troubled Waters" in the middle of the funeral home service and cemetary service. This was very special because my dad was a draftsman of Bridges while in the army in Cambodia in the 60`s, the words are very special and I could vividly remember my dad singing this song in his beautiful tenor voice when I was a little girl. Back to Josh Groban, we were supposed to end my dads graveside service with a recording of "To Where You Are" and "You Raise Me Up" but unfortunately it was raining so hard and windy that we had to stop. If we can do another Memorial Service in October when they do his postponed Official Military Taps Service we will definitely end with those 2 songs. "To Where You Are" which came out in 2002, my dad always said reminded him of my mom who passed back in 2001. Now they are together, 19 years later. "You Raise Me Up" was also another favorite of my dads. This brings me "Don`t Give Up" by Josh Groban which I was not familiar with. Some thoughts or lyrics came into my head 2 nights ago "Give Me Faith, Give Me Hope, Give Me Strength, and a Whole Lot of Love......but/and Don't Give Up" Then I went downstairs onto my tablet/iPad on to You Tube that night and THIS Song came Up right on top!

Me and my mom loved josh groban. She died 7 months at the age of 52 of cancer she had been battling off and on for 23 years. I'll always love you mom. I remember she'd lean back and close her eyes and sing with him.

I love Josh's voice, but he didn't write this song. And many of his famous songs are written by other people, some songs he wrote himself, or co-wrote with someone. His early albums have fewer of his songs, and his later albums have more, although it doesn't matter. Everything sounds beautiful in his performance. It doesn't matter if it's a song from a musical, a cover version of someone's song, a song written by him, or written by someone for him.

My Dads favorite singer was Josh Groban. My dad passed from this Virus on May 4th.
My dad was a singer and sang at Carnegie Hall a few times when he was younger as a trio with his brother and sister. I am also a singer and "Hallellujah" at my dads small graveside service in the rain. We also played "Bridge Over Troubled Waters" in the middle of the funeral home service and cemetary service. This was very special because my dad was a draftsman of Bridges while in the army in Cambodia in the 60`s, the words are very special and I could vividly remember my dad singing this song in his beautiful tenor voice when I was a little girl.
Back to Josh Groban, we were supposed to end my dads graveside service with a recording of "To Where You Are" and "You Raise Me Up" but unfortunately it was raining so hard and windy that we had to stop. If we can do another Memorial Service in October when they do his postponed Official Military Taps Service we will definitely end with those 2 songs. "To Where You Are" which came out in 2002, my dad always said reminded him of my mom who passed back in 2001. Now they are together, 19 years later. "You Raise Me Up" was also another favorite of my dads. This brings me "Don`t Give Up" by Josh Groban which I was not familiar with. Some thoughts or lyrics came into my head 2 nights ago "Give Me Faith, Give Me Hope, Give Me Strength, and a Whole Lot of Love......but/and Don't Give Up" Then I went downstairs onto my tablet/iPad on to You Tube that night and THIS Song came Up right on top!
Josh Groban. Voice looks Funny. I had a ticket to go to concert. I got up my eye was gunky and red. I had a bacterial in my eye. My friend came and got me and w wenr and the lady I gave me too was glowing. She said he walked by her..and I didn't hit her. LOL
