It shows how bonded Blue is to you that he immediately jumped in without hesitation. I've seen folks sleeping in hammocks with the tops closed. All I can think when I look at them is I would feel like I was sleeping in a coffin.
There is a girl named Amanda up in BC Canada, she has a big green van & travels with her dog Frank, he loves the hammock! He's also a senior dog, maybe just keep practicing with Blue, he's such a good boy! Her channel name is @tidelinetoalpine. I'll look that book up too, looks interesting plus not very long 👍
Awww, Blue is so adorable! Just found your channel and subscribed. I'm actually hoping to attempt my first hammock camp soon as I normally do tent camping, but this summer heat and the terrain of my last few trips is making me look into it for a cooler solution that also doesn't matter how flat or weedy the ground is. I already have a cheapo harbor freight hammock ($20) I use for lounging and just got and a bug net ($25) for it. Hoping it goes well lol.
I have thought about trying a hammock but not this time of year. To hot and to many insects. The Audio was not bad, I love hearing the water especially when I'm bedding down for the night. Back to the hammock, Blu might get used to it at some point, if so, he'd be a warm welcome on those colder nights. Appreciate the video. :)
Been a hammock camper for years. Now have a minivan but don’t get to camp much. I’m not a fan of sleeping it when it feels like a cocoon. Trees closer together would help in my opinion. 2 other things: if you lay diagonally you won’t feel like a banana. It will flatten out better and 2, you will get chilly during the night from underneath. To me it gets uncomfortably chilly unless in warm weather. You can get a blow up mattress pad or a under quilt for the outside of your hammock. I’d get the under quilt because of Blue, it’ll be easier. In Kauai and here in Louisiana a bug net is a must. Ticket to the Moon makes a great bug net. You can find it on Amazon. Never shared it with a dog so can’t help you there. Good try though with Blue. Agree with other comments, try in small doses with him during the day… OH and always look for ‘widow makers” dead tree limbs before hanging. Blue would probably protect you from them but would be very bad for Blue.
That's funny. I just watched Crazy Quady's first night hammock camping last night. I swear all you car camping youtubers chat with each other. 😉 Also, amazing views where you camped. Beautiful.
I was checking it out on RUclips and wanted to find out if the reading voice kind of computerized in your version? I have a double sized hammock, as well as a tarp to go over in case of bad weather. For me and my dog.
Maybe start getting him for short naps during the day in hammock. You could try having one side of hammock tied to car or roof rack so the car is close by. Blu can be in the car and your in the hammock just by the boot area so not too far away.
Trust Blue, he knows if something isn't right. Besides you never know if a bear could come wondering close by to get water out of the river or any other creature. I'd feel much better if you were in the car too LOL 🙂🖐️💞‼️
@@justinraywolfe thank you spell checker LOL I use my microphone to talk because I have so much pain in my hand that's why it's spelled wrong. But thank you. 😁🖐️
I'm with Blue. I tried a hammock once, and I felt like I was being pressed into a sushi roll. If comfort is a thing worth achieving, I really didn't see the point of the hammock. Anyway, I just now downloaded Chop Wood Carry Water, because I just have to know what makes a book "soooo insaaannne." :) hehe, I'll report back.
I think Blue is worried because he can't stand guard and watch his territory, to not be able to protect when he needs to as his natural instinct... im not a dog expert but Im thinking hes thinking that way ... lol... sweet to protect his mama
Too much noise for a dog, he's hearing fish and splashes and every sound. Try to get some distance from the water would help and maybe a start off with a nap routine and a part of the night or a couple hours here and there. Also a good way is let him explore area and just have a nap and make sure he stays above your head, reason you can talk to him and say commands faster if something happens. Safety always first.
He's in protection mode , he won't go to sleep because it's to new to him . Try doing in the day like a nap . Just like in a tent dogs will be on guard.
In my opinon, hammock was not the issue. Dog's like all animals can sense danger and will try to find a safe place to lie down. Anyway, that's how I can sense anxiety in Spirit. Take care.
I know this is 3 months late but oh my gosh..... listen to Blue. He was so stressed!!!! How could you even think about putting yourself in that kind of danger??? Wild animals, bears, evil people.

Blue was saying the whole time in the hammock must protect mom. Great dog. And video.
Hey 👋
Good times, you & Blue in the hammock, so cute he's adorable. Good momma and her fierce protector ❤️👍😊
1st! ❤️💋

Loving the longer videos! Too bad that the hammock sleeping didn't work out but maybe it will another time.

It's prolly the unstable surfaces under blue, my guess, then ya got forest sounds. Very cool attempt Maria.
I’ve always wanted to hammock camp
