    Comments below need to understand what this show is about .. it’s about British police working in Australia for experience and in some cases to live permanently. We do the same thing in NZ , showcase police working in NZ from different countries, it’s great that they can do what they love anywhere in world . So before you comment about British in Aussie , watch the actual show and listen what the host says

    • @heatherrowles2580

      Yep and if they watch the UK shows about their helicopter ambos, they would find out pretty quickly that there are a LOT of Aussies working for them. Because our medical training is considered equivalent its a fairly frequent thing.....as for the coppers, if you were a Pommy cop working the beat in England, you'd probs want to move to Australia too.

      This how gives a distinct impression that Australia's various emergency services would fall to bits without Pommy experts. Nothing could be further from the truth, one almost never encounters Pommy emergency workers. They did NOT invent flying doctors either, it was a home grown initiative, and in fact the various Australian helicopter ambulances would often laugh at the Poms because they couldn't fly in the dark in England. The terminology is misrepresented, there are cattle properties, sheep properties, graziers, wheat properties; but very few farms.
      All in all, this is an utterly chauvinistic misrepresentation of emergency workers in Australia. and an absolute insult to their professionalism. Now, how would the NHS fare without the addition of many Australian and New Zealand medical staff?

    • @NHope-md8ds
      @NHope-md8ds 3 года назад

      We have air ambulance services, however they don't have doctors on board and they are prohibitively expensive. A quick Google search shows costs ranging from $12,000-$40,000. The way private health care works is dictated by contracts that the public doesn't have access to. This means if your insurance provider is contracted with the ambulance service dispatched to you, you may pay the lower end of the price range, but if they're not contracted with your insurance provider then the full costs will fall to the patient (so called "out of network" care).
      People in the US are notoriously weary of any ambulatory service because of the costs. Actually, we put off all kinds of medical care because of the costs.
      Good for you, Australia! Providing lifesaving and preventative healthcare for all people, even the poor.
      Wish America could realize the benefits of that system!!!

    The way they handled the door breach, vid2, was horrifying.
    The 3 officers stood basically right in front of the door with a potentially armed perp inside. When entering a building from bright sunlight, you can't see anything plus the perp could have fired thrue the door and officers WOULD have been injured and/or killed.
    The door breach officer should have breached standing off to the side and the entry team should have been lined up on the other side.

    • @Kieran7931
      @Kieran7931 4 года назад +1

      Medical teams can be dispatched based on the initial notes generated by the 000 call... in this case "pierced", "bull horn" and "reports of punctured main artery" are all potentially serious/life-threatening items, which would be why the medical team was dispatched. As the doc says en route "very limited information".
      Sometimes when you get a serious-sounding job where the medical team are pre-emptively dispatched, but when a road crew arrive and find only a minor incident, they can provide a report to the medical team and call them off.
      Helicopters are not only just dispatched for "very sick" patients... they are also used when travel times to appropriate hospitals are too far by road.
      An example would be a major trauma patient (which protocols state transport to highest level trauma service within 60 minutes) who is more than 60 minutes by road to a major or regional trauma service, but only, let's say, 30 minutes by air to a major trauma service. (example from the video: westmead hospital is a major trauma unit)
