Thanks for sharing this information. I'm getting ready to build a 570sf, 1 bed/1 ba new construction ADU in San Diego county, and plan to install a mini-split system. The ADU will have 9' ceilings and an attic space. I want to locate the compressor in the side yard, which has a 3' setback. The wall of the ADU is located 5' from the property line on this side yard so that leaves me with 24" of available space (if I'm not allowed to have the compressor in the SYSB.)
I was thinking I'd like to have a high wall unit in the bedroom, and a ceiling unit in the main living area. The main living area is a rectangular space (approx. 10' x 25') with the living area on one end and the kitchen/dining area at the other end. Would the ceiling unit be located at the mid-point of this rectangular space?
Would I save any money if I bought the equipment myself and hired an HVAC guy to install it?
If so, what would be a reasonable cost for me to pay for the high wall unit, the ceiling unit, the compressor, and other bits needed to install?
What would be a reasonable cost for an HVAC guy to charge me to install?
Alternatively, what might an HVAC contractor charge me to provide both the equipment and the labor?

What is the annual cost to run 12,000 BTU mini split in Wildomar CA in a 400 sq. ft. garage conversion?

Around $100 to $300 annually depending upon how often you use it.
