At D-Air Conditioning Co. we have installed thousands of ductless mini splits for our happy customers in California. After installing so many units and having worked with all the top brands on the market, we have selected the top 3 high wall multizone ductless mini split systems.
Our selection criteria are based on several factors including: 1) reliability, 2) features, 3) aesthetics, and 4) customer feedback.
    #1 Mitsubishi MSZ-FS
It is no surprise that the Mitsubishi MSZ-FS takes the top spot on our list. This stylish, reliable mini split packs a big punch in terms of features. The system is super efficient with up to 30 SEER of performance. It has the best in class i-see sensor which can detect your location in the room and deliver targeted heating and cooling. It has an amazing air filtration system using a nano platinum filter and an anti-allergy enzyme filter. Overall this is the best performing system in terms of specs and our customers love Mitsubishi.
This system is a luxury product. The Mitsubishi MSZ-FS is the Rolls Royce in terms of performance and price. If you are planning on using your system for the long term, this can be a wise investment. If you are looking to rent out your place, there are other more affordable options with fewer bells and whistles.
    #2 Daikin Emura
The Daikin Emura is a sleek stylish design which is considered one of the best looking high wall mini splits on the market. The innovative system opens by lifting the front panel up is unique in its design. Similar to the Mitsubishi system, this unit has an intelligent eye sensor which detects heat and cool signatures in your room and can deliver precise comfort wherever you are. The Daikin Emura has an efficiency of 18 SEER and has a Titanium Apatite Photocatalytic Air Purifying Filter.
Daikin is the #1 manufacturer of air conditioners in the world. In the air conditioning space, they are well regarded for their high performance, great reliability, and long lasting durability. They are considered the Toyota of this market and you really can't go wrong with choosing this product.
    #3 Fujitsu Halcyon™ ASU
The Fujitsu ASU is a no frills, reliable HVAC system that gets the job done. These systems have fewer bells and whistles than the Mitsubishi MSZ-FS or the Daikin Emura but make up for it in sheer simplicity and reliability. As one of the leading manufacturer of computer components and medical devices, Fujitsu has turned their expertise to developing a multizone system that is both functional and distinct in its looks. The angled sides make it a sleek modern aesthetic.
Being a much simpler design than Mitsubishi or Daikin, you will also find that the Fujitsu ASU is less expensive than the two former heavy weights. If you are looking for a reasonably priced system that just works and you are only looking for a system that heats and cools, this one can be a good option.
    Honorable mention - Daikin CIRRA
One of the most surprising announcements in 2021 came from Daikin. It was a surprise in a good and totally unexpected way. Daikin announced a super simple and super affordable Daikin CIRRA line. This system is much more affordable than the Emura while boasting similar efficiency ratings.
The one quirk about this system is that it is currently only available as a dual zone system where you can use a combination of 7k, 9k, or 12k indoor heads. As a specially designed system, the condenser is much slimmer and more compact that comparable two zone condensers.
We believe that the CIRRA has a lot of potential and is a great product. Although it is only available in 2 zones, we hope that in the future Daikin will release a 3 zone solution as well. The two zone system is still exciting because it is suitable for most ADU or tiny home applications, one of the fastest growing market segments for ductless mini splits.
If you are in California and are looking for a reliable mini split installer, contact our team at D-Air Conditioning. We specialize in ductless mini splits and currently offer 12 of the best brands on the market. We have offices in San Jose California and Orange County. Our team of ductless mini split pros are happy to help you through any project.

Finally got it up and running. The only delays we had was because we realized we needed some extra parts (I’ll list that below) ruclips.net/user/postUgkxihMYiJNXcHdbH-7ihymsLz61l7jVyb5O . So we have a loft where our current hvac just couldn’t seem to keep cool during the summer. We have been using a window unit since we bought this house over 6 years ago (all the houses in this neighborhood were built in the 80’s and majority of the houses built like ours use a window unit). I hate window units because they are just so noisy and the one we had really only cools one side of the loft. I had contemplated upgrading our current HVAC, but with all the rising prices these days, it would take years before saving up enough to do that. With the advice of my father-in-law (used to run an HVAC business), he recommended we get an inverter instead. We thought we bought everything we needed, but there were just a few other parts we didn’t anticipate needing (which is what caused most of our delay). My friend and father-in-law did all the work to get it installed and running and now we have nice cool air circulating nicely throughout the entire loft. It is very quiet and even the outside unit is much quieter than our main HVAC unit. Saved ourselves thousands getting this.

I have a Daikin and I love it. I also had an older Mitsubishi before and that was good too but I prefer the Daikin. I'm not in the US though. There's also a top of the range Daikin called Ururu Sarara here in Europe (not sure if available in the US, but in Australia I understand is knows as Daikin US7) that is way above the top-of-the-line Mitsu both in performance/features and price so I'm not sure if Toyota of the ACs designation is really appropriate ;)

It depends on how often you use the system. Usually 20 seer is that standard for high efficiency. You aren’t going to get much savings going above 20 seer. The 33 seer units are significantly more expensive so you probably won’t get the savings back.

You usually can’t purchase a name brand product unless you are a contractor. Most states require an EPA license to handle refrigerant. If you purchase it yourself, you should secure an installer first. You don’t want to purchase equipment and not have anyone willing to install it.

Yes, you can install them for apartments. All apartments in Japan and Korea use these units. For the US, you need to talk with your HOA first before you can do a project since they have their own requirement.
The indoor units is around 25 decibels and the outdoor unit is around 45 decibels. So the noise is more quiet than the ambient noise.

    • @user-tt1ge5nd2m
      @user-tt1ge5nd2m 10 месяцев назад

LG and Samsung are one step below the Japanese producers. They're pretty good in overall quality (especially LG with it's dual inverter series) but are not on par with a Daikin or a Mitsubishi.
Below the Korean producers you've got the various China-based producers which boil down to 3-4 big corporations changing stickers: Midea, Haier, Gree and Hisense.
Out of the 4, Hisense has by far the worst build quality, Haier isn't terribly well known but I heard it does do the job fairly nicely, Midea's pretty good but the quality can vary wildly. That leaves Gree which has a pretty damn big offering of air-cons, with the Amber Premium being one of the best heating choices if available on the market.

  • @tronixfix

Best system is General and second best is Bosch. After that is LG, Samsung, Carrier, Reem, Trane. And at the end of quality spectrum are chinese noname systems that get names like "homecool" "super general" or "xingbao".

Breh. Daikin and Mitsubishi are the golden standard when it comes to ACs. If you need a good AC to cool and have the money to eke out, either of them is the right choice. Fujitsu is also pretty good but I've heard their most recent series aren't as good as they used to be. Out of the non-Japanese companies I have to give a shout-out to Gree, their Amber Premium /Ultra model is the air-con of choice when it comes to year-round use (it's a European model so it's not available in America and elsewhere AFAIK). Heats like a boss, cools like a boss and the finish is almost on par with the Japanese models, all while costing around the average price for an entry-level Japanese model.

I have 2 Fujitsu Halcyon units, 18K and 24K bought and installed in February 2009. Concrete house in the Caribbean. Both exterior compressor units mounted on the concrete rooftop of the property, exposed to the elements 24/7 and have been through 4 big hurricanes in the last 10 years. It is July 04, 2023. Both units are still running like day one. Never had to repair them. Just regular maintenance and replacing the outside line covers (black foam that disintegrates with time). I've recovered my investment 10 times over by now and they are 19 SEER for the 18K and 18 SEER for the 24K. Fujitsu is not the worst. Maybe your maintenance was not the best, maybe your installer was not the best, maybe your unit had a flaw. Don't over generalize. Your problem sounds like a poor installation job on the joints for the separate distribution units. Be less passionate/personal about judging a problem and more objective.

Heard people are heavily complaining about bad smells coming from the indoor unit and the cooling/heating capacity leaving a lot to be desired. It seems to a thing with their R32 models too, the 410A models are far better at just about all the basic characteristics than the newer units.
