GM Tech at the Dealership level. Pontiac, GMC and Chevy /Buick 83-94. Worked on alot of the Turbo Vehicles. Thanks for saving them. Good luck and if it has a MAF or MAP, check those. Bosch was the better MAF sensor. And MAPs can have a bad vacuum causing Piss poor idle and over all bad performance. Check the fuel reg and proper Resistance on the coil pak. Lots of variables.Good Luck
Awesome. Marvin is an awesome human. The stress of taking care of an ill parent is taxing, stressful , depressing and I feel for anyone that has had to go through that.
I love that we have a channel and a person like Alex interested in restoring, preserving, and generating a passion for older cars we grew up with! I can’t wait to see you ripping this thing!

Marvin here I could have but I know Alex would do right by it. And I have A really special car to take it's place. A special car to me with an amazing story. I will post A video of it this week on my new Channel HOGG BROTHERS GARAGE. Thank you.
@hoggbrothersgarage8804 Hey brother! My dad had a 73 Gold Duster with a 383, tubbed with dirt track race car tires when I was going up and it got flooded and he had to sell it. Loved that car and it was supposed to be mine. It's rebuilt into a gem. Would love to 6.4 hemi swap one with 6 speed manual would be my dream car
An amazing concept where GM totally dropped the ball... The Typhoon and Cyclone were amazing (as was the Grand National). If only they would have carried that concept forward.
I agree you can tell who took over GM after all the success just wanted to cut cost and try to skate off said success its pitiful when corporations do that.
Thanks Marvin that was awesome to see Alex wrench in your garage! And Alex it was awesome that you gave him a little bit more for the typhoon ! He seems like a great guy!
@hoggbrothersgarage8804 Hey Marvin ,Maybe we can get to see you take it for a drive when Alex gets it all finished, he likes to do that ! Hopefully Alex reads these comments and lets that happen for you !
Our family dog was named Lucy, also. I've always loved Typhoon/Cyclone, because the body style is so clean. GM made a lot of special cars and trucks thru the years. In my opinion you have two gems. Ty for the videos, and looking forward to more.
I LOVE TYPHOON/SYCLONE AND GREW UP WATCHING A WHITE/GREY TYPHOON RUN CONSISTENT 11.10'S..CRAPPIN ON VETTES, VIPERS BACK IN EARLY 2000'S. ALWAYS WANTED A WHITE ONE!!
Sunday morning in New Zealand. Breakfast and spring lawns done. Sit down to a new vid from LSC. Perfect! After seeing the kids after work, highlight of my week. Marvin - legend! Kept that car in such good shape. Even a clear work bench!
I really appreciate that you don't just throw parts at projects. As a weekend driveway mechanic, I always feel like I probably throw a least a couple of extra parts at every project that were from not taking the time to diagnose things (or knowing how to). I feel like your channel is great at showing how to approach issues. I've got an old 90s MSD analog ignition box in a my 70s C3 Corvette and you've got me pondering cleaning that up.
Just watched Alex buy the black typhoon, what a genuine man you are ,didn't haggle the price, and gave old guy extra grand towards his mom's funeral, God bless you Alex 🙏 😢
@@hoggbrothersgarage8804 You're a good guy, Marvin. Sorry to hear about your mother, but I can promise you she passed in a much happier spot than if she was on her own or abandoned in some home somewhere. I see it every single day. She passed happy and knowing her son was taking care of her. May she rest in peace, and may God be with you and give you good fortune. My mom passed recently and she never made it to 60. I wish I could've been there to take care of her, like you did yours.
When I was a kid in the 90s someone lived near me who had a turquoise typhoon, it was slammed and so damn fast. Can't wait to see you work on this and bring this one back to its full glory.
Way to go, Alex! You and I would totally be car buddies. Besides being around the same age, your buying all the cars I loved and still love. Thanks for letting some of us live vicariously though you! Cheers 🍻 Jim from Toronto, Canada.
I myself have been on dialysis for over 20 years now and as hard as it is on me, it's also very hard on those you love & have close. Just like with a spouse, whatever affects you in turn affects them. They have to also change their lives around to accommodate your schedule and/or needs. Marvin is a wonderful gentleman and the extra you gave him was well deserved 💙🙏🏼

From one Alex to another... This this is why I love this channel. Watching you find and revive these little nuggets of car history. Makes me want to go try my hand again at fixing my dad's old 87 Ranger. She's old, she wasn't the best truck in the world. But the memories of riding in between my parents, singing River of Dreams at the top of my lungs... Priceless
that was my favorite vehicle until i dropped a 350 tuned port injected v8 in a 2door loaded regular mini blazer 4x4 that i lowered but kept 4wd because i live in a snow proned area at 8000ft elevation so i sold my typhoon i always regretted not holding onto to either one
Always loved the typhoon. I live in metro detroit and remember seeing one leaving the dealer back in 93 or 94. When it took off, the rear end squatted, and it was gone! The sound of them turbos was beautiful. Love at first sight. It's good to see Alex fixing it properly. I'm enjoying every step so far.
That DOT code at 22:43 means that those tires where made in week 43 of either 1989 or 1999. So even if they aren't dry rotted they should be replaced due to their age. They stopped using three digit DOT numbers in 2000, so f.e. if it would have been from 2009 the number would be 4309
Usually there is an arrow after the date, pointing to the left is 80's, pointing to the right is 90's. But there isn't one on these, so I would assume 99
I’m 44 years old and when I was a young teenager when these came out I was totally obsessed with them. They were the quickest production car, looked absolutely out of control and were not stratospherically expensive.
I am 44 years old as well. Bought one used when I was 18. Got a lot of tickets. Went into debt fixing it and maintaining it. Blew heater cores right into the cabin. My girlfriend’s friend said it smelled like “period” in the cabin, BUT I DIDNT CARE! The typhoon and Syclone are one of the most iconic trucks ever!
Marvin that might be in the cards. I can tell you nobody in the comment section is more excited to see the Typhoon done than me. But a even more special car will be taking the Typoon spot in my garage this week. It's A forever car for me. Stay tuned.
Marvin is an absolute gem of a man....I too, take care of a beloved family member who now has Parkinsons disease and it takes a special person to care for another... best of luck Marvin!!!... and as always, Alex, your beautiful spirit shows through by helping this man and his family, there's a big difference between a handout and a hand up...
Marvin here I can't take all the credit of taking care of my mother, my wife played A giant roll in her care. She's the real hero. Kep your head up and stay positive. And remember to try to make your family members days with you as special and happy as possible. Best wishs to you and your family.
I had a 1997 GMC, with a V6 Vortec engine. I had it four years, while I was in Alaska. Ran well. No issues. I drove it all over Alaska and sold it in Las Vegas. I initially bought it new in N.C.
A friend of mine owned a very rare All blacked out 98 Chevy S-10 SS I don't know how many they made but it was an Amazing Tire Shredding little Truck it had every option available even hard tonneau cover with big SS in the center and factory alarm.
@legitscreetcars, you all should Purchase a nice 300ZX 90-96…! The BEST JDM car of the 1990s. It won all the awards, accomplishments, highlights from all magazines, websites and publications. And to the kid naysayers, no it wasn’t the Supra… check the facts.
Oh boy I'm excited about this one I know you've been looking for a typhoon for a long time I actually just saw one driving down the road and Spokane I was surprised cuz I've never seen one an actual person!! This is going to be a good watch and a great start to my Saturday I was kind of worried that we weren't going to see a video because of the Wednesday upload but legit street cars and Alex always comes through a rock on brother
Marvin's a true car guy! Like a majority of the community, let you use his shop, a fair price for the typhoon too, I think most of us are built like him, then we have the 25k guy.....the typical Facebook "I know what I got no low balls" total crackhead and I hope he gets help!
Marvin here that was A legit plate A few people notced it. So far Max the camera man is the only one that noticed the Cyclone sitting next to the Typoon. The green bicycle is A Murray Cyclone.
Alex. I love your channel and watch it constantly. You are an excellent mechanic and I will keep watching. As such I believe you educate and inspire alot of DIYers. One suggestion for you as an example to the masses is EYE PROTECTION. I recently bashed by eye while installing a set of neoprene seat covers on by daughters car. I was bent over on my side trying to hook it under the seat and next thing I see is blinding light. Long story short the next day I want to ophthalmologist and had to have an emergency visit to a retinal specialist who promply lasered a retinal tear caused by the trauma. I'm all good and its all healed up. I have tons of protective glasses ALL OVER my garage but never in a place I can find them. So I bought a cheap glass holder and they are now all in two different places and easily accessible. I'm sure you can get sponsors and have a multitude of cool functional safety glasses and influence others to protect their eyesight. When you were under the TYPHOON taking off the gas tank I cringed when rust and stuff fell on your face. I've got lots of projects and upkeep care on my fleet and have been more constant with my safety glasses since my incident. Thank you for all your content.
Alex's wife: Hey hun, just checking in. Are you still doing the GMC Typhoon video? Alex: Hey! OMG yes - we're so close to getting this thing started. Did I tell you Marvin said we could stay the night and use his tools? Alex's wife: Yes you did, 15 days ago...

Truly the most legit channel on RUclips.
Don’t change Alex.
Please god don’t go changing.
Awesome cars, awesome family values.
Legit af.
Horsepower TV at its finest takes me back to being a kid watching speedtv every Saturday morning. Thank u for that.
I grew up watching that channel too!
Respect for the 1k to Marvin. You’re a good guy, need more of this in the world
Awesome. Marvin is an awesome human. The stress of taking care of an ill parent is taxing, stressful , depressing and I feel for anyone that has had to go through that.
Marvin here thanks for your kind words. It was stessfull 5 years but i would do it again in a heartbeat.
❤❤😍😍😘😘😘😘💖💖💕💕🚛🚛
Marvin is an awesome man! ❤ Thank you Alex for helping him out. You are the best! 🎉
RiP Marvin’s mom! 🙏🏼
Marvin here thank you for your comment. RIP MOM!
Your a good dude Alex nobody does that now a days. Shows how much of a genuine person you are. Congrats on the typhoon
🚛🚛💕💕💖💖💖💖😍😍❤❤❤❤👍👍
I love that we have a channel and a person like Alex interested in restoring, preserving, and generating a passion for older cars we grew up with! I can’t wait to see you ripping this thing!
The fact that you gave him that extra $1k and actually listened to what he was going through is awesome.. he stayed out there with you cause he would be loving life again ❤
If anyone can get the Typhoon running right it's you, I think you got a great deal and I'm not shocked that you helped the Gentleman out, your a good man Alex.
Man that is freaking awesome. I’ll be watching every minute of this. One of my favorite verses of all time.
42:29 I appreciate what a pain it is to get shots like this all while having your nerves shot by trying to install difficult things. This man has extreme patience and that’s why we love him. He’s calm and great at what he does. It’s a joy to watch
❤❤❤❤😍😍😍😍😍😍💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
The black one is a better color anyway. Price & especially looks.🏴
Congratulations to Alex!
Car guy love is something else, im sure Marv could have asked for more money but he was being very reasonable and honest, knowing it would be rebuilt with care
I think they had better 0-60 than the corvette at the time too
Syclone….. Please spelling it correctly?
I lost my mum in july, after a long battle with dementia. It was a lovely gesture what you done alex you're a kind soul ❤
Thanks Marvin that was awesome to see Alex wrench in your garage!
And Alex it was awesome that you gave him a little bit more for the typhoon ! He seems like a great guy!
Marvin here it was awsome having him here. Really looking forward to seeing it get finished.
@hoggbrothersgarage8804
Hey Marvin ,Maybe we can get to see you take it for a drive when Alex gets it all finished, he likes to do that !
Hopefully Alex reads these comments and lets that happen for you !
@@JRs-Garage We have discussed that already and I hope it's in the cards when he done with it. Looking forward to it.
That’s a class act, Alex, giving Marvin a extra 1k.
Sunday morning in New Zealand. Breakfast and spring lawns done. Sit down to a new vid from LSC. Perfect!
After seeing the kids after work, highlight of my week.
Marvin - legend! Kept that car in such good shape. Even a clear work bench!
You definitely made the right move getting this one, it doesn't run great, but you can tell it's going to, it just needs a little love.
I love the IPFRELY license plate in Marvin's garage. Classic 80s humor
Marvin here that was a legit license plate.
Makes me think of Moe from The Simpsons and Ivana Tinkle. 🙂
Came to check the comments just to make sure someone commented on the plate. Good stuff!

I love that you are spreading the fans’ love to everyone you see. God bless you, Alex, you deserve every bit of the success you are having!
Marvin her I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. My wife is the real hero. Godspeed brother. keep your head held high.
@@hoggbrothersgarage8804 thank you so very much brother & yessir, as I now also live alone, it's even a little tougher around the house and such but, as a former lineman with my local power company... I'm of the bullheaded type..."give in/up" are words that just aren't in my vocabulary! And you sir I'm sure are a hero in your wife's eyes!
💙🙏🏼👊🏼
It’s a good buy , Good bones , very little rust considering it’s age and considering it sitting for 20 years and you got it to run that quickly is a great sign…
Good job 👍
So talented Mechanic, It's a pure Joy to watch man.
This truck is AWESOME! Best of luck and Marvin is great!
😘😘❤❤❤❤❤❤🚛🚛🚛🚛🚛🚛
Marvin is such a awesome person. Love to see it
Great deal for both people really good to see people being nice to each other
Loving all this 80s/90s goodness on the channel. Weirdly, the Oldsmobile has been my favorite car in the channel.
Priceless
FINALLY!!!!!!! I had a 93 Typhoon and LOVED it!
25 k junk motor 😅
that was my favorite vehicle until i dropped a 350 tuned port injected v8 in a 2door loaded regular mini blazer 4x4 that i lowered but kept 4wd because i live in a snow proned area at 8000ft elevation so i sold my typhoon i always regretted not holding onto to either one
But there isn't one on these, so I would assume 99
nice truck Alex...plz put a nice sound system in it..bring it back to its former glory
I’m 44 years old and when I was a young teenager when these came out I was totally obsessed with them. They were the quickest production car, looked absolutely out of control and were not stratospherically expensive.
Not sure about the numbers, but it seems like red and green or some fairly low number colors?
I am 44 years old as well. Bought one used when I was 18. Got a lot of tickets. Went into debt fixing it and maintaining it. Blew heater cores right into the cabin. My girlfriend’s friend said it smelled like “period” in the cabin, BUT I DIDNT CARE! The typhoon and Syclone are one of the most iconic trucks ever!
Great find Alex. Good luck bringing it back to life! You should bring Marvin to Legit Street Headquarters when it is finally done!
Who else owns a GM Truck or SUV? Whatcha got?
I've had many blazers and Jimmy's. Currently building a 2001 blazer 4x4 as a heavy duty work suv
My other half drives a 2007 Chevy Tahoe
1996 c1500 with the 5.7
I had a 1997 GMC, with a V6 Vortec engine.
@20:30 LSC, damn you’re a good dude!😢. Good bless ole Marvin and his family.
👌🏾💎😎
Alex’s enthusiasm is unmatched! He truly is building a dream garage w the classics.
Marvin keep your head up brother! you seem like a great guy!
Called it! Nice catch Alex
Marvin's a true car guy! Like a majority of the community, let you use his shop, a fair price for the typhoon too, I think most of us are built like him, then we have the 25k guy.....the typical Facebook "I know what I got no low balls" total crackhead and I hope he gets help!
Marvin here I eat sleep and breathe cars. Got it from my dad.
@56:47 Anyone else notice the awesome plate IPFRELY
Marvin here that was A legit plate A few people notced it. So far Max the camera man is the only one that noticed the Cyclone sitting next to the Typoon. The green bicycle is A Murray Cyclone.
I love kind old school car guys. Always willing to help or let you us their stuff and love to talk about cars.
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS DAY
Alex's wife: Hey hun, just checking in. Are you still doing the GMC Typhoon video?
Alex: Hey! OMG yes - we're so close to getting this thing started. Did I tell you Marvin said we could stay the night and use his tools?
Alex's wife: Yes you did, 15 days ago...
Love for Marvin!!
i really enjoyed this one qnd look forward to any and as many videos on this typhoon adventure ur about to embark on
Thanks for watching! It's going to be a fun project.
