I have an extremely lazy horse named Samuel (sam). He is 17 years old, yet they still make me ride him. His canter is fun but fast and I can barely sit the canter I don't know how. I always have to use a crop on him and make my throat dry by clicking and kissing a lot. I also have clubbed foot and it doesn't help that my calves are tight. I can still get my heals down though. I have a lot of problems with my riding.

In truth I rode rentals 4-6 times as a teenager/early 20's, but nothing since, never a lesson. How do you recommend I start from Scratch? We're looking to buy 5+ acres, so I need to learn everything from land prep, fencing, building stalls, etc, through feed, horse selection (can I get a new one with Bluetooth steering?)? Help!
Hi David, sound like you are starting an exciting journey! There are larger draft horses such as Belgian & Percherons. Generally a horse can carry 20% of their body weight comfortably.
