This is the one I was waiting for when you said you were revisiting old tracks. The old one is easily my favorite final fantasy song cover and this absolutely didn't disappoint
As a kid, my disc 1 would always freeze at the last cut scene and I was never able to get past it. I had a save near Dali and would only start the game to listen to this song and the Dali village theme
This and the Dali Village theme are some of my favorite tracks from the game. But even though I could listen to them over and over again, I bet it'd be frustrating to do so for the reason of being stuck in one part of the game, unable to progress 😅
If playing on an original console, there is a trick to get past frozen cutscenes. Open the disk tray wait 2 seconds and close it again. It counts as the cutscene having finished in memory and loads the next scene. Never tried it on a PS2 but it worked on PS1.
I don’t cry very often, but this pulled the tears out. Thanks for the memories once again man, absolutely blasted it out of the park. On the train back from Niigata to Tokyo while listening to this, rocking out quietly in my seat with a smile on my face the day after hanging out in a Final Fantasy cafe in Akihabara. You added a star onto my trip with this one today. :D
I decided that I am going to carefully study you and learn how to play this because I want to play it for my brother. I think it will give him the same feeling of peaceful childhood nostalgia that l get when I listen to you. Thank you so much for making such an excellent arrangement.
Woah I JUST listened to the old one and clicked your channel! What a freakin’ treat that you just dropped this! Bravo!!! ❤From a nylon string player. You make those steel strings SING!
Perfect timing for me! Man this really takes me back to the good ol days. I thought this mellow tune was a bit different than the other open world themes. It's hard for me to explain, but it's really sweet and homely. Not something I'd expect as much when I have to halt to burn a monster to a crisp and all the rest, but it sure is nice and your version is stunning in the best way! Loved it a lot. Thanks and take one of the first thumbs-ups from me to get this thing rollin! 👍 👍 🔥 🧊 🌩 💧 🪨 🗡 🌎 🎶 🎵
Thank you so much! I definitely what you mean about it feeling sweet and homely. Certainly more so than ff7 or ff8's overworld themes - which I also love, but I think they had a darker feel to them. FF9's was very comfy!
I would love this on Mp3, this version always stick with me since the original video. Great playing man, I can see a full bluegrass version of this song too. including the country-ish Orchestral version by String Player Gamer.
I don't know if I've said this before, but you never disappoint. You're one of my top two favorite guitar players for this kind of music. Number 1 even. You don't just play the tune, you make it your own and it always sounds great. I love this ff tune, it's one of my favorite world map themes and you killed it (in the good way!). Thanks for sharing.
Back in the day (early 00s) I always set aside a save in spots with these awesome music... overworld, Treno, Dali, one of the Gates in Lindblum (I think it was North Gate?). Same for the other FF games on the PSX. And then while I get dressed for work, I would boot the game up and load one of those saves and just listen to the music on perpetual loop. That was my way of hyping myself up for work lol. Your acoustic renditions bring me back to those simpler days. Thank you. ♥️
I love all of those tracks! Treno, Dali, and of course this overworld theme are some of my favorites from the OST, and I have covered all three of them on this channel 😅. That's an awesome way to hype yourself up for work! I guess I kind of do a similar thing because nowadays I listen to these songs in my car on my way to work lol
Thank you Gideon! I have updated the description of the video to include the chords used for this arrangement. I honestly just used those chords to figure out the melody by ear. Most of the notes to the melody fall just right around the chord shape that I was already fingering. I didn't have to move away from the chord shapes too much for it. Hopefully those chords can help you figure it out!
What a treat to wake up to! I'll always love this game and its soundtrack. It has such a heart and you convey that so well. You knocked it out of the park, Anton! Thank you!
I just discovered your first cover and then watched this immediatley after. The improvement is incredible! The first cover was already amazing but this is so much cleaner.
And just like that, memories come flooding back....thank you for re releasing this tune! Side note....you've Timed it well, the next chapter of the audiobook is scheduled for listening this weekend
omg! I just found you by your older recording of this song a couple weeks ago and was sharing it to all my friends raving about your channel, so I'm super excited to see this update! You are an amazing guitarist and it's wild you don't have more subs.
Always nice hearing your renditions ! 😁 I haven't checked your videos in a while but have you thought of playing the intro theme of Wild Arms ? I think you could make a banger out of it !
Really nice new version! Great cover as always. (And maybe it's just the new setup, but I feel that in this version your percussion and the sound of the strings complement each other better than before. Sounds more harmonic to my ears at least.) Does your new guitar have a 48mm neck width? Mine as well, and I don't ever wanna go below that lol. Love the wide neck. Btw, which guitar exactly are you using? :)
Thank you! I This guitar is a Martin GPC-18E. It's been discontinued now, but it's basically a built like a Martin standard series D-18, but with a smaller body shape and with a cutaway. The nut width is 1 3/4 inches, which I guess translates to 44.45 mm, so not quite as wide as yours, but still comfortably wider than my older guitar lol
Thank you! I don't have a tab, but I did put the chords in the description of the video. I just learned the melody mostly by ear based on those chords, so hopefully that helps!
Not necessarily. I've seen other people with short nails do fingerstyle really well. It's just what works for me right now, but I'm always thinking about alternative ways of achieving the "long ingernail" sound without having long fingernails lol
My fav ff game and prolly my fav theme from it... Great playing as always and oh, this version is sweeter : ) Read your description. Lol sooo true. I used to think thinner necks are always better but that's only true in some cases. Hand shape matters. Play style. experience. Endurance. Muscle memory. What kind of music you're into playing etc etc... It can get so complex that well... I say just get a bunch of types of guitars like me haha. Problem solved!
Thank you! Yeah, I honestly thought that having a thinner neck was gonna be advantageous when I got that older guitar. My thought process was that I wouldn't have to stretch my fingers too far because of the thinner neck, but then I had the opposite problem of there not being enough space for me to comfortably do tight shapes xD
Please take me back to the good old days 😢
In your dearest memories
Do you remember loving me?
The moment i heard this, i instantly making your track as my alarm sound. And thank you too for bringing back my childhood memories ❤
I save this tune, and add on playlist in my car.
when on long trip hearing this beautiful arrangement makes me feel on crossing on fantasy world!
This is the one I was waiting for when you said you were revisiting old tracks. The old one is easily my favorite final fantasy song cover and this absolutely didn't disappoint
Thank you! I'm glad I was able to do the one you were specifically waiting for! ❤️

That sounds like a lovely trip! The most final fantasy thing that was ever final fantasy'd 😆
I can never get sick of this song, especially the way you play it on the guitar! 🔥
It was already perfect before but you made it perfecter.
I decided that I am going to carefully study you and learn how to play this because I want to play it for my brother. I think it will give him the same feeling of peaceful childhood nostalgia that l get when I listen to you. Thank you so much for making such an excellent arrangement.
Thank you so much! The chords to this arrangement are in the video description. Hopefully it helps when you're trying to learn it!
Thank you for doing such wonderful FFIX guitar covers!
Instantly back in high school with my best friend playing ix when I hear this. Thank you :)
Right on brother. This is awesome...best of luck out there..over all those hills

Please! Create a list with music ffix only T.T. And will play everytime of my life.
Great ! Where can we get a tab ?
Thank you! I don't have a tab, but I did put the chords in the description of the video. I just learned the melody mostly by ear based on those chords, so hopefully that helps!
🥲
Thank you so much for the super! ❤️
@@AntonBetita Man... you earned it. Fantastic arrangement, fantastic playing.
