YOU ARE AMAZING AND YOUR FAMILY. IF IT WAS NOT FOR PEOPLE LIKE YOU GUYS WE WOULD NOT HAVE FOOD TO EAT. THANKS FOR ALL YOU DO TO FEED US ALL. SWAMP HUGS FROM LOUISIANA
Your husband takes whatever life gives him and pragmatically makes it work. You are a beautiful young lady with emotions all over the map. He gives you a steady course and you add beauty and spice to his life. Isn't it amazing how people find each other?
I grew up on a farm. butter was always left out. still is at my home. we love butter as well. thanks for the great channel. love the square body Chevy shirt you were wearing at the end of the video. your husband is a lucky man.
I am one who leaves the butter in the fridge. I buy quite a bit of butter when on sale which I keep in the freezer until I need a few sticks which I then take out of the freezer and put it into the fridge. However I did find out, much to my surprise, that you do not have to put your butter in the fridge. That also goes for eggs. By the way I am not a farmer and I am retired man that came from the corporate world. I really enjoy your videos and see how hard, especially your husband, work every single day. He reminds me of my father who worked very hard all his life. I think more non farmers should be watching your videos so that they can get an idea and appreciation of the work, effort, and dedication that goes into farming. My last comment is that you have a fantastic family.
As a nation we need to do much, much more for our ranchers and farmers. I’m not trying to be disparaging when I say that people who haven’t grownup around agriculture just don’t have an appreciation for where their food comes from. God bless you Meredith for sharing the information you posted as part of your description. Saying extra prayers for everyone in Ag...After all, we’re all in this together.
Another thing that makes you awesome….you don’t know how to say it and you don’t give a darn. We need more women like you. You remind me so much of my wife and why I love her so much. Thanks for helping me to remember .
I'm proud of you, too. Cute little daughter, too. After grilling, let the unit continue to heat to ash. That makes it easier to clean the ash off. Lucky, lucky husband. On another note, we live in Arkansas and leave our butter out. Real butter, too; no margarine. And lots of folks thank you for your support of them during lives' struggles. God bless you for that.
Im so grateful that you make so many videos ,you are such a joy to watch.i keep watching the older ones over and over all the time. Thank you so much!!!!!!!
I have always left my butter out, as long as it's real , and like you my family has always done that . On another note, I am a Truck driver/owner, and the devastation in the mid west is really really bad with the flooding.
I grew up in rural central, Louisiana and we had, home made butter, eggs, fresh milk, vegetables, and a few other things brought to our house by Little Granmaw in either a model A or T Ford. She was the lady that raised my mother and her younger sister after their mother passed away. She lived on a farm, about a mile or two from us, and made the butter from fresh cow’s milk. The butter was in approximately one pound blocks and wrapped in wax paper. My mother would cut the butter into 4 squares and kept it in the refrigerator. The first thing she did in the morning was set one square of butter out on the table. By the time we ate breakfast it was soft enough to spread. She would put melted buttered on the bread, from a different square, to make our toast. It was put under the broiler in the gas stove to toast it. I would still spread more butter on it before I put jelly, jam, or preserves on my toast. The butter stayed out on the table until it was all gone. If she took out another square and there was some left after evening dinner it stayed on the table over night. I still make my toast the same way with store bought butter. I melt the butter in a skillet, lay the bread in the melter butter until only one side is covered, then toast it under the broiler. I use a counter top toaster oven and broil only the buttered side until golden brown. I find it better under a gas broiler, but the subdivision I live in does not have gas at all. I have not used a pop up toaster at home in decades.
Honey do not take your briquettes out all you have to do is leave your grill dirty light it let it get good and hot and scrub it clean with a wire brush!! ! Thank you for your videos enjoy watching you and your husband is a very lucky man!!!
I'm not a" butter leaver outer", so that's good. I love butter and enjoy lots when I apply it. Love the goodness of the rain. Yes, ALIGN our energy to flow life to the farmers and every need.
i'm so proud that I ran across you on youtube.i look forward to your new videos.i love you and your family.luv Austin's responses.luv your eyes.so beautiful and the way you move them around.
We always have left the butter out. Been praying for the local farmers to get in the crops. Just will not stop raining around here in Central Indiana. Keep those video's coming! I very much enjoy them. Have a great week, and hi to your husband and children for me.
"I wanna know, have you ever, seen the rain; Comin' down on a sunny day?" I love that song and also the banjo I now hear in your videos. You were tugging at my heart when you talked about that farmer crying over his flooded field. Very good video!
Well, after reading all the comments, I guess you and I are about the only people who refrigerate our butter! I always figured, since they keep it refrigerated in the grocery store, it needs to be refrigerated at home here in Alabama ... but apparently not, huh? Who knew!? Thanks for another wonderful vlog!
Great talk about struggling farmers. We have thousands here in Georgia also. As far as butter,, I always leave it on the counter and covered. I believe my problem is a little worse than yours. A stick rarely last a complete day. Love the vids. Keep em coming
Wow what a rollercoaster ride of a video. I was just thinking of how upbeat you always are and I think that’s what draws me to your videos then boom you drop that on me. Brought a tear to my eye because not a day goes by that I don’t miss and second guess my decisions on the farm and selling it. Still hurts 15 years later. Oh and by the way. Butter out. 😁
We leave our butter out all the time, but it has to be salted butter. Summers if it's too hot, it will go go in the fridge and taken out ahead if we know we will use it. Live up in CT.
Hi Meredith ì live in the UK I've been in hospital for 9 weeks I had a brain infection had 2 operations back home now looking on RUclips for something to watch and found this farm wife fantastic videos I look forward to more of your videos P.S. you are one Georges lady
Another great video. Glad you got the rain for your crops. Thank you for being so caring and compassionate for the ones that are struggling and less fortunate than we are. Special!
Enjoyed the video! We got a much needed rain here In Lafayette Louisiana this pass Thursday. May have prayed too hard for rain, we got like 8 inches Lol. Wish you guys the best!
You always have the most amazing, truly real, and enjoyable videos! Your compassion for others who are suffering is heartwarming. And, my favorite part, is the mixture and wonder at the every day things of life, almost a celebration, a thankfulness for what we have been blessed with. Keep it up! Your family is living my dream. Blessings!
Real Butter stays out. Have you ever made Maid rites?? Check into a YOSHI Copper Grill mat for grilling them beef grocerys, still puts grill Mark's on the meats and all you do when done and may has cooled down is rinse and wipe it, can use over and over, no more having to clean grill.
Coffee is a must have to get the day started! Yes Mam your hubby got lucky this morning on getting that mighty tasty omelet. Weather has cooled off big time! Been raining here since yesterday. We got two inches so far. Much needed over here! Looks like we in for a good soaking today and Monday. Went from a drought to a drowning. Oh heck not I do not do snakes! Hate them things to no end! Have to bicker with ya on the not melting comment! Love how you make your burger patties! What did she say? Heck yeah she is pretty smart! No payment needed. LOL. Wire brush works wonders to clean that grill up. Mighty tasty looking burgers you whooped up there my friend. Sing it girl! Yes Mam we need this rain very bad! No bull about that bull. LOL. So many have been flooded with this crazy weather. Our hearts go out to each and everyone of them! Passing on that information about getting help or just to talk was priceless! Butter keeps whispering eat me, eat me! LOL. We do not leave ours out. Your daughter is so cool! Could not live with out butter! Awesome video my friend. Batten down the hatches cause the big rain is coming. Hope you and the family have a great weekend!
There are ceramic butter keepers that I think originated in Switzerland, that you put a little bit of water in the bottom of the container and pack he cylinder with butter. You can leave it out on the counter and It keeps it soft and fresh.
Hey when I was a kid growing up mom, granny, and y’all the lady’s did the same. We get home from school, be four doing our work. We grab a biscuit some bacon 🥓 from that morning. From top of the stove. Left there all day. Wire brush cleans grill grate.
Butter out, crops in, drought broke in Alabama last weekend, cattle prices down all over, snakes are ok as long as they are non venomous, nice words for struggling farmers, I'll check on towels..…..I think I covered it all!
We got 10 inches of rain that day ( Wake Forest NC ) . ( Had a big tree fall in my yard because the ground got so soft) , Then the rest of the summer was pretty dry. Love you and your family :-)
We do leave the butter out, even though we live in the desert. We use a round domed marble container. Ready for instant use. Butter is our basic spread.
We leave our butter out all the time Also thank you for the kind words to all the struggling farmers. I can't even imagine the stress this year. We pray that all farmers keep the faith and lean on God to help them get through all this. Thank you so much for all your vlogs.
This is Dave from Texas yes of course we always leave our butter out I learned it from my mom and I am 77 years old Taste better spread better doesn't go Bad
Beautiful lady, this says it was posted a year ago, so I can't much, except that my grandmother (my mom's mom), from Oklahoma, and my little granny (my dad's mom), originally from West Texas used to always keep their butter out on the table in the same way, and for that very reason! Now on that farm report, even though that was last year, years, months, or even days don't really differ all that much, some days are just better than others, but we all try to make the best of what God gives us, like that farmer that was standing out in the middle of his swamped field! How is he doing this year? Sweetpea as a farmer you provide food not just for others, but for your family as well, and though there maybe times when it's hard to feed yourselves, you still try to feed others as best you can, because that's what a farmer does! Afterall look how many people Jesus fed from just a few baskets of fish!..🐟 Also that little halfpint mini mee of your's "Austin", is getting so doggone cute, and growing like a weed! It won't be long, and she'll be taking over a lot of your daily chores, and driving herself to town to get groceries, and all the boys are going to be hemmed up somewhere kocking, and drooling all over themselves, and making whistles, and acting like a bunch of young bulls! Wait, and see!...🤗💖😁🤷👍
Burner is burnt out on your grill and either replace the burner or buy a new grill. that is why you have hot spots. Now the butter issue. I was raised on a small farm. I hand milked cows. We made our own butter and ice cream. Yes we left our butter out. Yes we are feeling the impact of all the rain we have had here in the great state of Indiana. Oh and next time you made hamburger practice making patties by hand and stick a pat of butter on the inside on each one....Oh so good. Have a great day Meredith. God Bless you and your family.
Know others not just in North Carolina, but in Tennessee as well who depend on rain. Thanks for sharing your chores with us. That's a real part of your life. Critters need your attention. Glad you and your daughter have that connection. Thanks for sharing.
Austin is one cool kid ! She sure says some cool things ! Such as she's pretty smart when she's cookin and it's goood in the neighborhood. It is so cool that she thought of those things and the way she said them !
Just had 6 slices of toasted rye bread with butter and honey. And a huge glass of ice cold milk! It’s an addiction ya’ll!!! And yes ...our butter sits in our bread box.. ! It is illegal to refrigerate it in our home ! Lol
You are something special to watch and listen to and I hope you plan on sticking around on you tube for a long time. PS: I leave my butter out I clean the dish about every 3 days as that is about how long 1 stick of butter lasts me.
I leave my butter out, otherwise itwon't spread. Keep up the good work, just avoid borrowing money, that was what killed off our farm/ranch operation, plus drought, high fuel etc, thirty some years ago. God Bless You and Yours
Thanks for being there for someone in need of your advice and smile. So many farmers and ranchers are going through tough time, and just when things look like they are getting better, someone jerks the rug out from under them again. Like the old Farmer said when asked what he was going to do with the million dollars he had just won in the Lottery.. "I reckon I'll keep farming until it's gone".. That attitude is what makes a farmer successful. If not this year, then next year..
Very well said on mental Healthcare, It takes great strength to know you can fix yourself through communication with others. Yes we did leave butter out.
Haven't had time to watch since I haven't been waiting to get tire fixed again on my sprayer. Ha . Finished planting in central IL. You have a nice vlog. It has been tough and rough, but we have been fortunate compared to lots of others. Thanks for your message of support and I echo your thoughts on finding support.
@@ThisFarmWife_ Thanks but remember we don't have hurricanes here, so you have been through worse. 1974 was this bad, but I don't recall as I was 10 then, 1995 was late and that was the first year I farmed full time, 96 planted beans on June 18. I'm done other than hay. Others areas south and north way worse than me.
My butter is out and I’m probably your granny’s age and I love butter too, but I try not to eat too much and give my heart and arteries a break but every once and awhile....yum!
I keep butter in the refrigerator but bring it out when starting to prepare meals. Butter kept at room temperature tastes different than chilled butter. Try butter both ways on toast. See which tastes better.
It's Great to get lucky in the morning! Those burgers look Yummy. I think you need new burners in your bbq. They rot out and flame goes to those spots. My butter is OUT!
you are such a remarkable woman , to offer hope and respect for your fellow farmers. I look forward to your video,s and your own times of hard struggles. Farm life is not easy in some areas as a lot in bad weather loose their source of income, the crops, keep hold the inspiration to succeed !
Butter always out, butter on almost everything with a few exceptions, salad being one. Butter on steak is fantastic. When growing up Granddad and Grandma had dairy cows so always had fresh butter in a bowl in the middle of the table, real milk, real cream, not much in life better then those. And to chime in on the BBQ need new burners, flame deflectors (if not using a full layer of briquettes) and briquettes. Thanks for the channel love all your v-logs. Glad ya'll got rain we are still flooded in many parts here in Missouri.
I think I might need new briquettes too. Thanks for the advice! And yes, real butter always. And mine is now out on the counter with the rest of the world lol
This is Dave in Houston again Love that your bulls are always so tame Love all your animals and of course we leave the butter out I learned that from my mom probably 70 years ago Makes it taste a little better too
Hi I found your channel 2-3 weeks ago and you seem to be a genuine kind person that's so nice and refreshing good job and keep it up. Any how your grill problems the big hot spot in the center is the burner it's rusted out 15- 20 bucks and fairly easy to replace your self also the briquettes simply flip them over hope that helps
Hi Meredith, Here we go! Another great video! Yeah, you are right about the rain, we really needed it. I am about 2 and 1/2 hrs west of you and on the N.C. and VA. line and it was very dry. My grandmother used to leave the butter out and it was homemade and very good! That little girl of yours is a baby doll for sure! You and all your family have a great day. Still loving that banjo!
Y'all have gotten more rain than us and now it's coming down the river and needs to stop ha! Thanks for watching. I'm leaving my butter out from here on out. Good stuff!
@@ThisFarmWife_ Yep! I live on Kerr Lake and the lake has been coming up somewhat. I have moved my dock in twice so far. Hopefully it will not hit you bad. Keeping my fingers crossed for you! I love the sound of that tin and the smell of the rain also! Take care of yourself!
A county agent friend of mine posted some pics of someone’s cotton field. It looked like a rice field. You could just barely make out the tops of the plants. They field was huge even for South Texas where we live. All under water. I’m thankful everyday for the courage and perseverance farmers and ranchers have to keep on going so that we can have what we have.
I grew up in east central Illinois. We a,s well as all the farm families around us did also , I still do it today , I am 68 years old and my 2 children also leaves butter out all the time. God bless you and your family
Hi, when I grew up on farm butter was in the cupboard, now I leave in fridge. A plate for shaping burgers, your talents are endless!! Ha, ha. Love it!!
Always leave my butter on kitchen counter. My vet told me to give my Dachund 1 teaspoon of butter a day. Best source of fat helps healthy coats and won't put on weight. Love your videos! God Bless your family and farm.
Yes, leave the butter out. Can't spread cold butter 🤔😊 I have a butter container made of pottery that you lift it out of the holder and use a knife to reach in and get a blade full. The part you hold onto is round just big enough to push in cube, then push it a bit harder so it sticks to the sides and doesn't slide back out. I'll send you one some day. What's your favorite color ? I got mine in Laramie Wyoming at the farmer's market. 😊😊 see ya
I 76Yrs old and spent my life farming and now retired. Home made butter is one thing we would leave it out. Now people use margarine and call it butter and it needs refrigetating😄
Yep we leave our butter out thank you for bring up and talking about stress people think farmers are rich but not always the case it's bloody hard work and sometimes for very little money but it's a life I love and would not change it your friend from across the pond xx
Meredith, wonderful to see rain, rain, rain. You mentioned 1 to 4 inches as possible. How much did it actually rain?? Like the slider story and they look great. Thanks for mentioning that help is available but you have to ask. Dean from Minnesota
Replace the briquettes and you need more and clean the grates by putting the burners on high and closing the cover and letting it get real hot for 15 mins. Then wire brush clean.
This woman is just the sweetest thing, pure southern, God needs to clone more women like her.
He has and i married her!
Amen to that
Super personality 👍
I have fallen in love with the Farm Wife and family. You are authentic, genuine and greatly appreciated.
That’s very kind. Thank you!
You can replace your burners! I love how down to earth you are and your genuine caring about others!
I need to check into the burner replacement! And thank you :)
You’re welcome!
I love the smell of rain on the parched earth. I call it God's perfume.
YOU ARE AMAZING AND YOUR FAMILY. IF IT WAS NOT FOR PEOPLE LIKE YOU GUYS WE WOULD NOT HAVE FOOD TO EAT. THANKS FOR ALL YOU DO TO FEED US ALL. SWAMP HUGS FROM LOUISIANA

Thank you! The shirt is from baleshay.com. If you buy one, tell them I sent you ;)
You're a very pretty lady. The thing I like most about you is your genuiness and your personality. That can't be bought or faked for very long.
Ha, down in Australia we flatten the meat patties under our arms...adds flavour too :)
Bahaha...I think I'll stick to this way ;)
you might John , I certainly dont lol and I am aussie too ...great video as usual :)
We leave are butter out and yes its butter not the fake butter.
God bless the Farmer who are going through the flooding.
Only real butter! And thank you

always keep my butter in the refrigerator . I like hard butter
My wife and I live in Mississippi and we leave our butter on the counter 24- 7. I don't like butter but she loves it.
I am a midwestern farm boy but lived in southern VA, for 2 years and I thought Va. And N.C were 2 of the prettiest states I have seen

Julia Child was a big fan of butter she used to always say you can never have enough butter and with enough butter anything will taste good😋😊

Oh yeah we often leave bacon or sausage out all day too ha.
Butter out, crops in, drought broke in Alabama last weekend, cattle prices down all over, snakes are ok as long as they are non venomous, nice words for struggling farmers, I'll check on towels..…..I think I covered it all!
I always feel good after listen to you. THANK YOU!
Hey farm wife and family. Great video, always enjoy watching. We leave our butter out on counter. God Bless.
South Dakota here - my family leaves it out. Including all of my sisters at their own homes.
We leave our butter out all the time Also thank you for the kind words to all the struggling farmers. I can't even imagine the stress this year. We pray that all farmers keep the faith and lean on God to help them get through all this. Thank you so much for all your vlogs.
Thank you and yes, prayers!
This is Dave from Texas yes of course we always leave our butter out I learned it from my mom and I am 77 years old Taste better spread better doesn't go Bad
Thanks for your words of encouragement and your testimony. God bless
Afterall look how many people Jesus fed from just a few baskets of fish!..🐟
Also that little halfpint mini mee of your's "Austin", is getting so doggone cute, and growing like a weed!
I know, I just need to get it fixed :P
Know others not just in North Carolina, but in Tennessee as well who depend on rain. Thanks for sharing your chores with us. That's a real part of your life. Critters need your attention. Glad you and your daughter have that connection. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching! Yes, there are people all over in different situations.
I'll stay as long as y'all keep watching I guess ha. And I think ours will last about that long...my first stick out will be gone tonight :)
That's all true. Thanks for sharing David
Very well said on mental Healthcare,
It takes great strength to know you can fix yourself through communication with others.
Yes we did leave butter out.
When I saw your husband moving that equipment I knew he can make it! My husband has moved things that big the same way!
Make a ball out of tin foil (baseball size) and just scrub the grill... works great
Haven't had time to watch since I haven't been waiting to get tire fixed again on my sprayer. Ha . Finished planting in central IL. You have a nice vlog. It has been tough and rough, but we have been fortunate compared to lots of others. Thanks for your message of support and I echo your thoughts on finding support.
I'm so sorry for what y'all are going through! I hope it dries up soon and I hope you have a good crop!
We leave our butter out. Growing up on a farm, I did the same with home made bread and jelly. The best way to eat bread and jelly.
Butter out...hence the reason for covered butter dishes, love your channel !!
Makes sense! Thank you!
we have always left our butter out so we can spread it easier. Yes we love butter
It's Great to get lucky in the morning! Those burgers look Yummy. I think you need new burners in your bbq.
They rot out and flame goes to those spots. My butter is OUT!
another joins the butter club and keeping soft butter alive hahaha
👍👍🚜🚜🚜🚜👊
Definitely leave out what we plan on going through for the week.
you are such a remarkable woman , to offer hope and respect for your fellow farmers.
This is Dave in Houston again
Love that your bulls are always so tame Love all your animals and of course we leave the butter out I learned that from my mom probably 70 years ago Makes it taste a little better too
Excellent video Merdi! Prayers to all the farmers affected by the weather and financial problems. You are hilarious Merdi...Blessings to you
Thank you!!!
Hi I found your channel 2-3 weeks ago and you seem to be a genuine kind person that's
so nice and refreshing good job and keep it up. Any how your grill problems the big hot spot
in the center is the burner it's rusted out 15- 20 bucks and fairly easy to replace your self also the briquettes
simply flip them over hope that helps
Really? I’ll look into the burner then!
So, so very sad. :( Breaks my heart
Your daughter is such a gem! Yes my Grandpa did leave his butter out all the time.
Yes, she is! And the butter is now out here! :D
This Farm Wife - Meredith Bernard oh and by the way, I have never heard of not being awake enough to pour coffee!....lol!
I grew up in east central Illinois. We a,s well as all the farm families around us did also , I still do it today , I am 68 years old and my 2 children also leaves butter out all the time. God bless you and your family
Ha, it's staying out here from now on!
Hi, when I grew up on farm butter was in the cupboard, now I leave in fridge. A plate for shaping burgers, your talents are endless!! Ha, ha. Love it!!
Haha...what can I say? 🤷🏼♀️😂
Just get a good Brass grill Brush, brush when grill is still hot after cooking! Also use E-Z OFF oven cleaner on your Grate to really get all clean!
You want a grill to broil/sear in the hot spots and then move food to the edges to cook from residual heat.
Snakes are good. Butter on the counter covered, soft and spreadable that way.
Always leave my butter on kitchen counter. My vet told me to give my Dachund 1 teaspoon of butter a day. Best source of fat helps healthy coats and won't put on weight. Love your videos! God Bless your family and farm.
Oh I've never heard that about feeding to dogs, but makes sense! Thanks for sharing :)
No margarine here! Only the real stuff ;)
I love that sound..rain on a tin roof,so relaxing to me :)
Yep we leave our butter out thank you for bring up and talking about stress people think farmers are rich but not always the case it's bloody hard work and sometimes for very little money but it's a life I love and would not change it your friend from across the pond xx
Thanks Simon. Yeah, it can just all get to be too much. I appreciate you watching!
It's the burner, just finally ordered a replacement this morning :D
