I don't usually comment before watching the whole video first, but honestly, I can say that the title is VERY accurate. This "world" has so many missed opportunities. Fairytales aren't based on specific time periods, there's so much they could have done with 'em. There are so few unique zombies. Not counting the Gargantuar or Imp, there's basically only 3: Witch Zombie, Mirror Queen Zombie, and Guard Cavalry Zombie. And even then, one of them is a reskin of a zombie from Dark Ages. I'm not saying every world needs to be as many zombies as Kongfu World or whatever, no, but I feel like unique zombies are one of the things that make the worlds less "reskinny", less bland, and more unique. They literally even reused Wizard Zombie and Archmage Zombie for pete's sake, they aren't even reskinned. There's a lot of other things wrong with the world, but I'm sure Flag Zombie's already covered them in the video. In the end, this is basically just another rushed world, not much else I can say about it.
For all the BS this world throws at you, the cauldrons actually look like a fun mechanic! I don't think the devs realized the implications of some of these gimmicks. Just looking at Magic Fog, that on its own is a horrible and unfair addition. But it's actually worse than it looks when you break it down. First off, you can't counter if in any way, just deal with the consequences, so it exists first and foremost as an artificial difficulty boost. Secondly, and very, very major, is the actual damage resistance provided by Fog. This I feel is one of the worst aspects that they thought the least about. Each level of Fog adds 25% more damage resistance, starting at 25 and going up to 75. We all know that, but the problem is that percentages aren't super simple. I imagine they just used those numbers because they were simple and looked consistent, but the end result is an ungodly massive difference in durability between Zombies boosted by White Fog and those boosted by Purple. When you give a zombie 25% resistance, they start taking 75% of incoming damage, making them effectively 33.3% tougher. 50% works exactly as advertised and doubles their effective health. And then we come to 75% resistance. Because they're only taking 25% of incoming damage, the zombie is now effectively 4x as strong as a regular version. This only gets worse when you combine it with the fact that some Zombies that appear in this world are just stupidly tanky to begin with. Guardgantuar comes with 10K HP out of the box, and with this boost he now has effectively 40 thousand health, making him tougher than Zombots, and that's just one of them. It's really no wonder this world is as broken as it is when you stop to think about the mechanics and just how poorly implemented they are. Or maybe this was intentional and just a way to encourage players to drop money to win. Either way, it sucks, the math and the footage can agree on that.

Big thing I thought about with the fog. If there would only be patches and clumps of fog that has the full effect, rather than the whole lot, it would really spruce up the fog itself as a unique mechanic. Essentially, most of the fog would be only partially transparent, and you can still plant within that space. The zombies wouldn't get any effect from it either, it simply would exist as a moderate line-of-sight blocker. (which could also open up the idea of another special zombie that uses this fog, maybe one that is invisible in it?) Smaller patches, mostly random in form, can be the normal version we see, which enacts the whole magic shield thing and prohibits planting. This whole style allows the fog to stay throughout the level without being overpowered if they really want to keep it and not allow things like blover or other related plants from dispelling the fog. There's another part however that bothered me, which is the magic shield itself. Why would it be a complete immunity to all special effects? Seriously. That just erodes the whole point of having special plants in the first place. The tiers of fog even alludes to the idea that different fog immunizes to certain effects, but it doesn't here. Secondarily, I feel like a damage reduction was not the choice here at all. Giving the bubble health however would be a smart move honestly, as the different tiers can have different health, but any plant that has spikes can immediately pop them. TLDR: This fog really bothered me so I wrote alot to suggest how to fix it. Maybe.

one small change which would improve it alot is allowing planting in the fog. making zombies immune to effects is still powerful so it could still be challenging with out it being unfair to the point where only vetrans can get enjoyment. the fog can't be removed by the player so it should be easier to live with.
I feel like 80% of the difficulty in this world comes from the fog. If effectively increases the health of zombies by (25/50/75) percent of their base health, gives them immunity to any effect that might help mitigate that, and gives no way to comphensate for the higher DPS needed to just brute force your way through it.
It isn’t increase by (25/50/75)% it is increased by (33.3/100/300)% because it is a damage reduction by percentage , which is calculated by (1/reduction value - 100%). And that is absolutely insane. You basically *must* strip their shield with the shitty insta to even *begin* doing damage to the gargs.
if you're wondering why the sounds are so crunchy. While porting the sounds to the chinese dev team they some got a bit crunchified because of the firewall.
The wall without head existes way back before this shitty "world" or event whatever, appeared This Mechanic was in international too but was removed in modern day release if im not wrong
I am late but I can see that the main problem with the world is a cycle of "haha you can't win" Gargantuars work as damage sponges that protect the Witches So you should attack more directly But uh-oh! The magic fog doesn't let you plant And then because you can't kill the witches, all your plants become frogs, keeping the gargantuars from taking damage
Since nobody else here seems to be doing it, here's some new ideas for specials this world could of had: Red riding hood zombie: With more health then a Buckethead thanks to the hood, they'll slowly skip along the lawn, throwing around baskets that act like sushi. Big bad wolf: A pusher zombie based on the Big bad wolf, pushing a row of three houses in front of them at a below average pace. The front one is of hay and the weakest, containing a basic in a pig outfit. The next one is wooden and contains a conehead pig, and the last, really tanky brick one contains a Buckethead pig. Wind attacks like blover can instantly destroy the first two houses and make the zombies inside be flung off the lawn with them. Mouse imp (and fairy godzombie): They move much faster then normal imps, and the very slow weak fairy godzombie can turn them into cavalry zombies without the knight on top or the ability to charge. In other words, they trade the speed for extreme health, likely while it's already in your front lines thanks to the initial speed. You should probably take them out quick before that happens, or use a plant like dartichoke or instas to take out the fairy as it attempts to hide behind other, faster zombies.
oooo an hour long video! I'm definitely going to enjoy this one since this Fairytale world is one of my favorite worlds in terms of aesthetics (in difficulty, not so much... lol)
Why does this entire world have the same or an even heavier level of gargantuar spam than modern day level 16, you know, THE LEVEL THAT’S EXCLUSIVELY GARGANTUARS?!
This is why you need more than just a few special zombies or you’ll get the equivalent of someone having a first try at a PVZ hard mode. Jeez this is a first try at PVZ Hard Mode, Magic Fog that is basically the water from Big Wave Beach but super and no counters.
The problem with this world is that it’s just way too hard! It has Extremely Tough Gargantuars, Imps that calls out 3 Calvary Zombies when the player defeats the Gargantuar, Witch Zombies that is way worse than the Wizard Zombies by turning your plants into frogs that will hop continuously until the frog goes out of the lawn or the Witch Zombie is defeated, and a evil princess that summons doppelgänger mirrors, Calvary Zombies, and poison apples. You thought BWB and SC was tough? This is pure pain here! To make matters worse, There is no Zomboss fight at the end! What about the fog though? It’s terrible! No wind plants and no Plantern? That’s some ridiculous stuff over here. Please, Talkweb. Make levels for your worlds that are not like this! Note: There are 2 types of gargantuars in this world.
Also, Talkweb is adding a new world in the Secret Realms. It’s called “Haunting Hallowing”. It reveals new zombies like scarecrows with crows that probably will act like Pirate Zombies and Calvary Zombies that are combined with the ability to leave fire in your lawn.
@@ninjapirate123 you can't? I thought you just do it on the same menu that you unlock the costumes. Edit: never mind I just check and you can't take it off there. At least in my opinion it looks good compared to the international costumes and it's effect on cactus' plant food ability is good
The Guard-gantuars appearing so early (Level 2, like come on...) and being spammed in the entire fairytale world made them a lot less special than they sounded and seemed like
the devs just went to a house that was just full of crack locked themeselves insinde and just snorted evrythimg up thats how i imagine the development process went
I still love watching this because it shows how little planning went into this. A big armor garg really? Why not a Beauty and the Beast thing were the garg is the beast and a zombie in a pretty dress is behind him at all time is Beauty, while the Beauty zombie is alive behind the beast garg he gets a small boost of speed and a big power and resentence boost but when the Beaty zombie dies all the gargs resentence is gone, the garg takes x2 damage from everything, it's speed it cut by 80% and the gargs power takes a huge dip to were a 1 attack that would normally kill a plant takes 2. See not that hard to come up with a fairytale theme idea.
VERY unpopular opinion: this world isnt THAT bad. It is extremely hard, but it makes it a great challenge. Tho level 3 of normal mode in chapter 2... FUCK THIS THING
Pvz2 Chinese devs: let's make a gargantuar, but complete bullshit health and have the same death ability as surfer zombie with the shield having the hp of a knight zombie.....and throw 3 of them in lvl 1. Oh, let's also make a fog that screws the player from planting and a shield to the zombies that counters common ways to push or stall zombies from the player
Little fact about this new world is that the magic mirrors act like portals in the original pvz1 and the fog about this new world is the buff version on the night pool
Although we already know what the normal plants do (ones obtained in both the International and Chinese versions) from what I've seen some function slightly differently like Iceberg lettuce having an attack when upgraded to level 3, a video going over each plant that has a minor/major change between the two versions?
I agree, Fairytale forest is a mess. Because it has fog that makes zombies invincibe which is not fair, It has the most annoying gargantuar, and has something that LITERALLY TURNS YOUR PLANTS INTO FROGS, WHAT THE FUC-
ngl the cauldron minigame thing would be really fun if they didnt copypaste the level form before and let you maybe mix multiple plants together to make a specific seed packet?? sorta like crafting i suppose
You know, I think I have a way to improve Guard-Gantuars: First off, lower their HP. I know they are covered in armor, but this is ridiculous. Either that, or make them move slower. Armor weighs a lot (not that I ever wore any, but I'm pretty sure some does. I could be wrong though). That, and since they are covered with metal, why not have them be affected by magnet-shroom, and take double damage from electric attacks? Metal conducts electricity after all. Also they should not be appearing so early in the world imo. At the very least, introduce them in around level 8 or higher.
@@erihgioqe3798 the global version of PVZ2 isn't really going for quality either, especially considering it is outright impossible to complete BWB right now without modifying your save, but yeah, PVZ2 China is especially terrible
I think the problems with PVZ china is the game is very unpolished, and a lot of new concepts are irritating at best, they bring a decent challenge, but are also we bullshit. Imagine making a solid defense all for it to get screwed over when a mirror appears in the middle of your defense and a torch zombie comes through. Another problem is, as I said in a previous videos, every plant is designed to counter a specific zombie. I find that pretty dumb and it fees like those plants are in worlds just to say they are there
If i were to fix this world mechanics and plants i would 1 make the heath seeker a necessary edition,2 make the fog only cap at 45% by going up in 15% for each fog variant,3 some extra zombies that would play with the gimmick like a wind zombie or a zombie that can effect the cauldrons,4 have the cauldrons be in nore stages,5 debuff the garg to 7,500 health,6 make ent less powerful and broken,7 make the leveling curve more gradual and only on hard mode can the previous issues come back but toned down by not making it as common as before,8 make the lesser plants actually worth a damn and lastly 9 have a minigame that works with the world like a returning minigame like invisi-ghoul or a new minigame themed around the fog
23:43 I actually beated it. Here is how: Plants: Any sun producer, Heavenly Peach, Aloe, Level 3 Tall-nut, Cherry Bomb or Grapeshot although Grapeshot is recommended, Heath Seeker, Power Lily, Gold Bloom So basically, stall the level out with Tall-nuts, Heavenly Peaches and Aloe. If there are 10 zombies on the lawn, destroy them with Grapeshot/Cherry Bomb or Heath Seeker.
This world is so broken i ended up somehow instawining all of the first chapter levels who have mist (the fog comes in one wave, kills all zombies, goes away instantly, spawns again and that for all the level) This happend to me 2 months ago when i played the game so it could be patched
I watch the video and think "ok, so this is not balanced, but at least it seems fair. So what's the deal?" Then the fog rolls in and I suddenly ask what kind of sick joke that is. Who designed this crap? Then the fog covered everything except the back row and...what? I guess fighting against the devs screwing you over does make for engaging gameplay, but I guess they forgot that engagement needs to be fun to be a positive. 20:47 Kek Chapter 2:"But wait! There's more!" And then the last two levels just flip the table and throw the sink at you.
The guy, who designed this world deserves to play pvz2 Chinese version non-stop until they finish 100 percent of the game with only level 1 plants and no premium plants or boosters (plus no plant food)
I love how sadistic Fairytale Forest feels. I can just imagine the devs were generally either bored or stressed or whatever and just thought to themselves "let's make a world so difficult it could make veteran players cry" Absolutely love it. Totally wish I had my save on my current phone so I could try it
I do wonder what the logic is behind that level 1 twin sunflower pick. Considering primal sunflower is free level 4 and also give 100 sun each time with it's "balanced" plant food ability

@@sebastianalcones8018 damn i love when a world it's for "veterans" i love fight in spamming levels with gargs that dies 5 later and stupid fog and stupid mirrors, no, this is world it's not for veterans it's a stupid and that's it
@@MAXIMA You can literally beat it with level 4+ plants☠️
24:40 man the gap between a Lvl 4 zombie and a lvl 3 zombie is noticeable, that lvl 4 conehead destroyed the weaker one with ease.
I just love when you use the banana launcher in the first level, we can just hear a fast low quality "banana" and it cracks me up everytime.
Geometry Dash SUCKS
one small change which would improve it alot is allowing planting in the fog. making zombies immune to effects is still powerful so it could still be challenging with out it being unfair to the point where only vetrans can get enjoyment. the fog can't be removed by the player so it should be easier to live with.
@@ripmorld9909 it decreases damage taken
if you're wondering why the sounds are so crunchy. While porting the sounds to the chinese dev team they some got a bit crunchified because of the firewall.
The fact that Guard-gantuars keep walking forward to attack a plant nowhere near where they died is so infuriating
The wall without head existes way back before this shitty "world" or event whatever, appeared
This Mechanic was in international too but was removed in modern day release if im not wrong
Walk*
I am late but I can see that the main problem with the world is a cycle of "haha you can't win"
Gargantuars work as damage sponges that protect the Witches
So you should attack more directly
But uh-oh!
The magic fog doesn't let you plant
And then because you can't kill the witches, all your plants become frogs, keeping the gargantuars from taking damage
Since nobody else here seems to be doing it, here's some new ideas for specials this world could of had:
Red riding hood zombie:
With more health then a Buckethead thanks to the hood, they'll slowly skip along the lawn, throwing around baskets that act like sushi.
Big bad wolf:
A pusher zombie based on the Big bad wolf, pushing a row of three houses in front of them at a below average pace.
Mouse imp (and fairy godzombie):
They move much faster then normal imps, and the very slow weak fairy godzombie can turn them into cavalry zombies without the knight on top or the ability to charge. In other words, they trade the speed for extreme health, likely while it's already in your front lines thanks to the initial speed. You should probably take them out quick before that happens, or use a plant like dartichoke or instas to take out the fairy as it attempts to hide behind other, faster zombies.
Objective: Kill 6 Zombies in 2 seconds
Level: Has purple fog that reduces damage taken by 75%

oooo an hour long video! I'm definitely going to enjoy this one since this Fairytale world is one of my favorite worlds in terms of aesthetics (in difficulty, not so much... lol)
I will probably never play this game so id love you to showcase everything . So speeding up the content instead of cutting it sounds more interesting
Fairytale Forest might be a complete mess but the soundtracks (especially the main theme) is SO good.
@Hisham211 🇦🇷 pretty sure they dont, like the other worlds they have.
It's pretty bland, all the way to having the PvZ jingle because you can't have a PvZ track without the PvZ jingle
Why does this entire world have the same or an even heavier level of gargantuar spam than modern day level 16, you know, THE LEVEL THAT’S EXCLUSIVELY GARGANTUARS?!
Wasn’t expecting this type of long video but I’m glad I did get it!
Good video btw 😃
Thank you!
Totally fair and balanced! :)
"Big Wave Beach is the most bullshit world in the history of PvZ"
Fairytale forest: *Hold my beer*
To remove this shield from the fog, you need to use heart seeker, obviouls with no fog in the field
This is why you need more than just a few special zombies or you’ll get the equivalent of someone having a first try at a PVZ hard mode.
Jeez this is a first try at PVZ Hard Mode, Magic Fog that is basically the water from Big Wave Beach but super and no counters.
Big Wave Beach:Hell
Fairytale Forest:Extra Hell
Pvz: Dang this level has a gargantuar, its going to be hard.
Pvz2c: Dang this level has 15 gargantuars, this is easy.
This was an amazing video, I watched to the very end. Keep up the good work!
Thank you!
You can feel flag zombie preparing to shoot during the garg spam levels
The problem with this world is that
it’s just way too hard!
Especially gargantuar in this world have 9900 hp😠 why
@@sammyhorace7523 In the almanac, it states that the Guard-gantuar’s health in this world is great.
I hope you ain’t lying to us, Talkweb...
Also, Talkweb is adding a new world in the Secret Realms. It’s called “Haunting Hallowing”. It reveals new zombies like scarecrows with crows that probably will act like Pirate Zombies and Calvary Zombies that are combined with the ability to leave fire in your lawn.
Ok thanks and also when I say why didn't mean literally
I'm talking about guard-ganturar not the Gargantuar
I found cactus to work very well on most of these levels.
Edit: I only got past normal mode. I also have her level 2 and have her costume unlocked
@@ninjapirate123 I know. that's why I mentioned it because I didn't have it any higher than what they give you. Same with the costume I think.
@@ninjapirate123 you can't? I thought you just do it on the same menu that you unlock the costumes.
Edit: never mind I just check and you can't take it off there. At least in my opinion it looks good compared to the international costumes and it's effect on cactus' plant food ability is good
I just noticed this but the shrinking violet take away the gargantuar’s shield as well!
The Guard-gantuars appearing so early (Level 2, like come on...) and being spammed in the entire fairytale world made them a lot less special than they sounded and seemed like
I love all of the music you used in this video, really fitting to the world itself
Thank you!
the devs just went to a house that was just full of crack
locked themeselves insinde
and just snorted evrythimg up
thats how i imagine the development process went
"hey, people say that PVZ2C is too difficult, let's worse everything up with this event for no reason because we do this"
An introduction to the exclusive premium plants would be nice.
Also, do both time lapse and video cutting, it should make the video more entertaining.
I love how there are people in the comments who are just like "oh just use explosives" or "just use X plant" and pretend like it's not difficult
I don't mind a challenge but it really depends on what this "world" thinks of a challenge.
I feel like PVZ2 China is just all the ideas Pop Cap didn’t have time to finish and never felt like implementing them fully.
The blue fog at 14:50 rolling out to reveal 4 shielded guardgantuars was terrifying lmao
You know you're f****d when the gargantuar fuses with mega knight.
53:25 Torchwood survived the poisoned apple
Gargantuar spam in just levels 2 and 3! So far, so good.
Little fact about this new world is that the magic mirrors act like portals in the original pvz1 and the fog about this new world is the buff version on the night pool
A video on the artifacts would be amazing!
Although we already know what the normal plants do (ones obtained in both the International and Chinese versions) from what I've seen some function slightly differently like Iceberg lettuce having an attack when upgraded to level 3, a video going over each plant that has a minor/major change between the two versions?
Or one going over the premium plants/returning plants from pvz 1
I agree, Fairytale forest is a mess. Because it has fog that makes zombies invincibe which is not fair, It has the most annoying gargantuar, and has something that LITERALLY TURNS YOUR PLANTS INTO FROGS, WHAT THE FUC-
When you thought that couldn't be a world tougher than Big wave Beach 💀
ngl the cauldron minigame thing would be really fun if they didnt copypaste the level form before and let you maybe mix multiple plants together to make a specific seed packet?? sorta like crafting i suppose
i like the idea of cauldron gimmick, but i wish it was only destroyed by zombies and not plants
Definitely prefer fast-forward through boring parts. It can sometimes be a bit funny and makes videos more entertaining.
This world is so difficult for unfair reasons like the one lane fog, the fog, the fog again, shields etc. artificial difficulty to the max lol
I think it's a telltale (hah) sign that most levels end with you waiting for several Guardgantuars to keel over
You know, I think I have a way to improve Guard-Gantuars: First off, lower their HP.
They're probably wearing several tons of metal of armor, not to mention the giant shield and mace
People who never played pvz2 china:Its better than pvz2
People that has played pvz2 china:
We went throug that ourself with the explained series lets be honest
It's has more content, it's just has more poorly made content
@@BlueyMushroom it's like the chinese version goes with quantity over quality
@@BlueyMushroom one of the examples of how bigger doesnt equates better
it has more, but its the unfun kind of more
@@erihgioqe3798 the global version of PVZ2 isn't really going for quality either, especially considering it is outright impossible to complete BWB right now without modifying your save, but yeah, PVZ2 China is especially terrible
I find that pretty dumb and it fees like those plants are in worlds just to say they are there
honestly this feels like the creator of the game already expect all of the players who play the level will be max level pros
This zombie is one of the pvz2c players of all time
Makes pvz brutal mode ex plus look balanced, maybe the pvz China community loves horrible balancing
Plant family boost? Oh that's why my primal sunflower costs 65 sun!
If i were to fix this world mechanics and plants i would 1 make the heath seeker a necessary edition,2 make the fog only cap at 45% by going up in 15% for each fog variant,3 some extra zombies that would play with the gimmick like a wind zombie or a zombie that can effect the cauldrons,4 have the cauldrons be in nore stages,5 debuff the garg to 7,500 health,6 make ent less powerful and broken,7 make the leveling curve more gradual and only on hard mode can the previous issues come back but toned down by not making it as common as before,8 make the lesser plants actually worth a damn and lastly 9 have a minigame that works with the world like a returning minigame like invisi-ghoul or a new minigame themed around the fog
the cauldron is actually a really cool mechanic i wish we could have in the international version.
20:46 the prime definition of fair
BWB: "Finally, a worthy opponent"
23:43
I actually beated it. Here is how:
Plants: Any sun producer, Heavenly Peach, Aloe, Level 3 Tall-nut, Cherry Bomb or Grapeshot although Grapeshot is recommended, Heath Seeker, Power Lily, Gold Bloom
So basically, stall the level out with Tall-nuts, Heavenly Peaches and Aloe. If there are 10 zombies on the lawn, destroy them with Grapeshot/Cherry Bomb or Heath Seeker.
This world is so broken i ended up somehow instawining all of the first chapter levels who have mist (the fog comes in one wave, kills all zombies, goes away instantly, spawns again and that for all the level)
This happend to me 2 months ago when i played the game so it could be patched
Yeah this is the same exact thing that has been happening to me.
I watch the video and think "ok, so this is not balanced, but at least it seems fair. So what's the deal?"
Then the fog rolls in and I suddenly ask what kind of sick joke that is. Who designed this crap?
Then the fog covered everything except the back row and...what? I guess fighting against the devs screwing you over does make for engaging gameplay, but I guess they forgot that engagement needs to be fun to be a positive.
20:47 Kek
Chapter 2:"But wait! There's more!"
And then the last two levels just flip the table and throw the sink at you.
A video on artifacts and the family bonuses would be really nifty
The guy, who designed this world deserves to play pvz2 Chinese version non-stop until they finish 100 percent of the game with only level 1 plants and no premium plants or boosters (plus no plant food)
Damn this is just crazy. They go hard as soon as you start lol. ALSO, I would definitely enjoy a video covering Artifacts! They seem interesting.
I love how sadistic Fairytale Forest feels. I can just imagine the devs were generally either bored or stressed or whatever and just thought to themselves "let's make a world so difficult it could make veteran players cry"
Absolutely love it. Totally wish I had my save on my current phone so I could try it
"Eh, screw it, so many plants are broken at high levels anyway, they can deal"
Sick Gargantuar walking to last row without his head just for placing his shield
Istg they specifically coded them to walk to the last tile if they're close
I do wonder what the logic is behind that level 1 twin sunflower pick.
Considering primal sunflower is free level 4 and also give 100 sun each time with it's "balanced" plant food ability
Simulating having to deal with level 1 plants
@@theonetheycallheadspace2899nah you get level 4 sunflower for free. You can take out easy levels with level 4 mistle toe or electric blueberry.
At least you give us some of the gimmicks, abilities and also some of massacre, ravenous and crazy zombie you're facing it.
I just watched the whole thing! This is the video I watch while I eat btw and this is great content imo
hold up, the banana launchers still say "banana" in the Chinese version?
I wish they would update some of these worlds and put them into the English version. It looks really cool
by level 5, Flag was like "that's it, I'm bringing the artillery"
The moment i saw the bonus objectives i knew there was absolutely 0 playtesting for this world
I have to say, adding the Wizard and Archimage in a level is a bit funny.
20:45 Guard-Gantuar really said "fuck u"
While this world looks like pure pain, I wish the US version got updated like the Chinese one.
