Another nice tutorial showing once again that if you can't make music sound good using stock plugins then you are in need of practice. This did the job easily. I like that you added the EQ too.
@@bradhargis2261 oh there's tube screamer plugins you can get like the TSE one. Ignite Amps has a tube screamer style thing too. All free, work great. Any distortion is fine though ultimately.
Great vid, killer song, and a highly effective philosophy. I love //DIST on VOX & BASS. I sometimes use on drums, as well. As always, depends on the song. Thanks!
Awesome video guys. And another great way to approach vocal saturation. I’m still trying to understand why someone would leave a thumbs down for free knowledge...
You know that you spent too much time in cubase When you try click on the X at distortion window (on the video screen) in order to see better the vocal lines
It's bizarre how stock plugins are sort of seen as basic or nothing special. Many of them are incredible. I think good stock plugins really add to the value of a DAW. Isn't it great to have a DAW that has plugins that are so good that you do not need others. You can buy a DAW for very little money that does the job very well but you need to buy a bunch of plugins. Or you can buy a similar quality daw that costs more but has great plugins. What's better. Well I prefer the cheap daw with no plugins so I can then afford to buy the plugins that I like personally. So I say the best way to go is reaper with one of those deals where you get all the plugins that someone makes for a monthly price. I am using reaper as an example because it is world class and very reasonably priced. As far as the monthly plugin deal, there are several choices like Steven Slate everything bundle or McDSP has one. Both are world class and the price is so low that anyone making money from music production can afford both. Boy did I ever digress. Have fun everyone
While i appreciate you taking the time to make this video as it's very informative and helpful, I gotta ask, Why wouldn't you show what you did with the plugins you had already used on the vocals bus ? I feel like that's pretty crucial and exponentially helpful information that has gone unknown. Either way, cool video and thanks for sharing!
Might be the best screamer out there!! Epic voice! Epic song! Epic band! And ofc an epic Tutorial!
Thanks for watching!
Yeah what a surprise when i hear sam's voice on this tutorial !

Exactly
This version sounds so much more powerful!
Tube screamers are great for this too. Really great way to get stuff nice and up front
Like an Ibanez TS9 guitar pedal?
Tube screamers are for guitars...
@@bradhargis2261 I know. Try it. Run it on a parallel track and blend it in. Particularly for heavy music, adds a real weight to the snare
@@BrofUJu how do you get a guitar pedal onto a parallel track? I have a ts9 and also a maxon 808. Would be interested in checking this out.

I looked up a tutorial for adding distortion to my screams for an instrumental cover I’m doing and this is the song I’m covering lmao
simple but effective
I also use the cubase stock distortion on my vocals
Have you got two delays on the vocal one stereo and one mono running together?
If so ive never seen that before.
Great video!
Thanks for watching!
