I've only been into Wndowsill growing these carnies since Mid-April thanks to you - I'm also learning the hard way that N. Robcantleyi is extreeemly picky with overwatering! I had to throw it out the bag acclimation because there was just way too much moisture in the bag, I noticed the leaves starting to yellow very fast! I've had a Hamata pitchering profusely and it's somehow taking it a lot easier than the Robcantleyi. I'm still promising to gift you a cutting from one of my collection once they grow out! They love it here in the Bay Area.
Well done! The rules are a bit different in a grow tent vs a windowsill vs a greenhouse. I have an evaporative cooler in my greenhouse that works quite well, but on warmer days my fogger can run all day near the cooler. Everthing gets wet early in the day from the fogger and the heat of the day evaporates the water on the leaves. I'm more careful in moderate temperatures and the fogger runs occasionally. I have tons of air movement, so this works for me.
Thank you!! That is awesome to hear!! Yeah that works great with good air movement. I ran one for a while but the grow tent just got too small and the airflow couldn’t get into the base of the plants, so I had to cut back on the humidifier.
When I leave my home for vacation, is it ok let my nepenthes ventrata and gaya sit in a tray of water for 3 weeks? or will they develop root rot in this time?
Good info as usual.. Always look forward to your videos.. "You're the reason for my success!"
Thank you for your kindness and support! I just provide the info, you’re doing the hard work growing them!
Always love the content!

Hey! Great question. I would not let them sit in water for that long. There is a high likelihood that they will develop root rot.
