Well really the only thing you could do with a false accusation is use words, if you come up with the real evidence yourself then it would prob be thrown out as forged or fake. But with a prison break you can actually make physical decisions and plan everything out.

This movie hits hard especially after the Ted Ed video on Ethical Dilema. The fact that he trusted his wife even when the evidence was stacked against her is a testament to his willpower
It’s a testament to his idiocy… not his will. It’s the testament to his willingness to deny reality and be delusional. Willpower? Hahaha… he is delusional. And so is his “willpower”. We may know the truth, but he doesn’t. He isn’t brave… he is stupid. He did the equivalent of: I lost 1/3 of my money in the casino… so let’s go and bet everything I have to win it back.
It's a testament on how well he knew her willpower doesn't change the fact if she did it or not but he knew her so well her true self because they did not hide anything from each other most likely, alot of married couples couldn't say the same.
No one comments on this but the most emotional scene in this movie is right before the crazy ending sequence when the dad (played by Brian Denahey sp?) realizes what he is about to do and doesn't say anything but the non-verbal acknowledgement when they hug goodbye and he will never see them again is very emotional to me. It's a subtle goodbye that says I will miss you guys forever but I know saving your wife and kid is your entire reason for living. Watch that scene closely and you will totally see what I mean.
And then dad, likely realizing the cops would want to talk to him and the rest of the family, takes them on a ride to see the beautiful scenery, thus making the cops waste precious time and resources looking for them. Even if the cops suspect he did it on purpose, to help his son, they would never prove it.
Fantastic film, watch it. The emotions are palpable. You really experience the change from regular guy to doing desperate things, the resignation of the wife to her fate, then her willingness to die if she can't be with her child. It's gnarly.
Awesome movie! When they stop by and decide to get their kid.. no dialogues between the couple but shows us a very deep communication! That's the highlight of the movie 👏👏👏
In the real life version of this movie, it was the husband who was sent to prison, and the wife who broke him out. He was innocent of the crime he was accused of, but lost his trial. His wife managed to break him out of prison, for which they were both eventually caught and charged. However, they were able to prove him innocent of the original crime, and those charges against him were dropped. Once the two of them served their time for the prison break, they were free to be together, and went on to have children and a relatively normal life. *I can't remember the names of the people involved in the case, but it was somewhere in the U.S if memory serves me correct. Maybe someone else remembers their names!?
How in the fuck are the going to get in trouble for a prison break, when they were not supposed to be there in the first place, and the prison break was the ONLY thing that gave them the time they needed to prove his innocence... The "justice" system is so stupid. A child predator wouldn't even get in this much trouble in America.
@@smileyking7749 there is a reason why lawyers tell you to keep your damn mouth shut. I love the police because they keep our streets safe but in the end they have to solve cases even if they get the wrong person. And a note trying to right a wrong by doing another does not make it right, or legal.

Love this movie. Actually thrilling and smart. Also, a good question is posed by the movie of what do you do when the power of the state is exercised against you and you have no recourse. The thing is, while she was wrongly convicted, the evidence does point at her. It wasn't a case of bad policing or malicious prosecutor. Just plain bad luck.

What I don’t like about this movie is the ending that hammer the idea that the wife was wrongfully convicted and it somewhat justify the husband actions. I think for him it doesn’t matter and it would benefit the story to leave this matter ambiguous.
I believe it's implied that he just knows her wife well enough to know she's not a murderer, as a matter of implicit trust, and understanding of her character as a person.
@@ThatFadedAsian I believe it’s imply for the audience that main character is a good person, doing criminal acts for the right cause.
