ILYUSHIN IL76 LANDING with AMAZING SOUND - IL76TD with classic ENGINES (4K)

- This Ilyushin IL76 arrived at Eindhoven Airport from Baku. It operated a cargo charter flight for the dutch gvmt and departed after a nightstop. Silk Way is a cargo company from Azerbajian and they operated five Ilyushin IL76. Two of them are operating with modern new engines which are much more quiet than the IL76`s with old engines. The Ilyushin shown in this video is still using the old engines and that` s why it is screaming down the ILS of runway 24 at Eindhoven. I always enjoy the sound of these classic engines and that` s one of the main reasons why the llyishin 76 is one of my favorite airplanes.
A few weeks before I filmed the Silk Way IL76 I also filmed an Ilyushin IL76 of Aviacon Zitotrans, another IL76 operator which shows up at Eindhoven Airport in the Netherlands up to three times a year. It` s always a pleasure to see these classic russian planes in Europe and whenver I have time I try to drive to Eindhoven if one of them is expected.

Very nice captures of these Ilyushin IL-76 aircraft. The sound of those loud whistling engines is very distinctive and very rare now. The Ilyushins I have seen and filmed lately have all been with the new turbofans and are noticeably quieter. It's been some years since I filmed a classic, so it's been nice to watch your video. Great as always.
Nice also to see the IL-62MG in EHEH. ("mind the cable")

4:01 oh boy. That's the same Il-76TD (RA-76842) that was forced to land at Kandahar airport in 1995 and escaped a year after, in 1996. Glad to see it's still flying.

man these USSR planes really show their age. solute to our old comrades!
The glide slope as the first one comes in looks so steep but when the pilot puts it down it's smoother than Vodka that's been in the freezer overnight.
They seem to want to go nose up at landing but wonderful power plant nose.

This IL 76 of Volga-Dnepr is supplied with none original engines. What type of engines on the aircraft?
Those are the modern engines which are less noisy. I don` t like them to be honest. I prefer the screaming loud engines. These new engines are "Perm PS-90A76"
