This is why I like watching your video tutorial, you explain it very well, what to do, where to click and, where to go. Thank you for sharing your video.
To add the 'cinematic bars' to *all* clips on any given track (rather than one clip at a time), you simply drop 'Cookie Cutter' on the very beginning of the track (this way it will affect *all* clips on that track), select the square Cookie Cutter (white border), get rid of the border (set its value to '0') and set ''Repeat X'' to 10 (leave 'Y' set to default, which is '1'). Then just adjust the *size* to your liking. And of course, scroll through all clips on the timeline to see whether you're cutting off something you shouldn't, and use ''Event Crop & Pan'' to move each clip up/down if necessary. Hope this helps! :--)
Yeah, ''Cookie Cutter'' is a versatile effect. Vegas is the best. Powerful yet intuitive. Whatever I do in Premiere I can do in Vegas in a fraction of the time. Remember, watching too many tutorials isn't the way to go. Everybody has their own way of doing things. So you are better off experimenting and discovering stuff by yourself, as you go. :) Cheers mate! ♫
I'm just starting to use my camera and I've been looking for a software for a while until my friend told me about Sony Vegas pro. It looks technical but you sir made it look like a piece of cake!
Alex I'm loving your channel. I'm glad I found your channel. I love using Vegas but over Final cut but I can't find many tutorials on it...Thanks for sharing your videos.
I was thinking I have to color grading my footage manually by using vegas, but after I watching this video I just realized that Sony Vegas have color corrector pack, thanks its really help me
Film has 2,35:1 ratio. To get this, you need to set exact vertical resolution. If your footage is 1920x1080, set the vertical resolution to 817. Then you get 2,35:1 ratio. You also get the same ratio for each clip.
Recently watching all your Sony Vegas tutorials. I seriously appreciate all the work you put into them. It's very helpful for me as a new content creator and Sony Vegas noob. :) ~Talius
This may be good for that sort of footage, but I'm working on a montage that is primarily GoPro footage and I've found the Red Highlights preset to look better.
That's a nice video. Still, it misses a great deal in improving the quality of your SD videos. "The 1st thing you want to do" is NOT to drag/drop in your video files but rather to start a new project with HD profile, e.g., HD 1080-24p (1920x1080, 23.976 fps) and go on from there. The templates from Color Corrector are very basic and would look weird on most footage. If you don't know how to play with all the dials then, like in one of the suggestions below , I also highly recommend the Magic Bullet suite. To get rid of noise quickly and effectively, I suggest Neat Video; it does miracles.
If you want "black bars" you should render in 21:9 aspect ratio.... like 2560x1080 becuse I own ultra wide monitor(21:9)and I can see those bars that you created and ones we have original if we look 16:9 video.
When I drag in the color correction and put in red midtones it only does the redtone for the right side of clip, but not the whole clip. Can you help me with this?
Hi Alex, I need some help. If I change the preset, I can see it only after closing the Video fx window, not direktly. I searched all settings and nothing found to change it. Do you have any suggestions? Thx Alex. Best Sony Vegas Tutorials btw. !
