  • El Al Airlines in Israel has had a 100% success rating on its airline security for more than three decades: No hijackings, no bombings, no failed attempts aboard a flight.
And they have accomplished this spotless record WITHOUT invasive security measures. You don't even have to take your shoes off. You can even take on any liquids you want.

It's this very security that has allowed EL AL to be the world's most secure airline. Only one plane was hijacked in its history, in 1968. After that nothing else.

I have flown El Al many times, and the security is quick, efficient, and unobtrusive. That's because I have nothing to hide. If you're an innocent traveler there is no problem. As for airline service, I've been to Israel on TWA (long ago), Delta, United, Lufthansa, and El Al. They all had fine service. Politics has no place in airline security - you do what is necessary to be safe.

    • @marcusjohansson1134
      @marcusjohansson1134 10 лет назад

No problem if you havent travelled in Arab countries. If you have one wrong answer can lead that you cant get out of the country even though you was totally innocent. Its 100 more likely that you die as innocent in israeli prison than somebody explodes your plane. Also with good answers you can carry a bomb in your balls. If you go to back room to special check, you avoid the body scan and metal detector.. But the teen ager security guards are afraid to check your asshole or balls. Thats why Im really afraid to fly with El Al.

If you feel that you are targeted, profiled, or harassed by El Al then you should choose another airline. There are plenty of airlines that fly to Israel. No one forces you to fly an airline that puts you through such emotional distress.

LOL I too have flown to Israel many times. And it was never quick and unobtrusive because I was targeted and profiled and "harassed" every time.Being a young (at the time), non jewish, European traveling alone But I have never once felt threatened by it. It is called "tight security" and has a reason. :-)
And that guy believing you can just "study the right answers" is not only silly with his persecution complex and irrational fear, he also is incredibly naive.
He should be profiled exactly because he seems incredibly gullible and therefor a likely easy mule .
In fact, he might the poster child for one of the profiles ;-D

    • @prettyhatemachine8887
      @prettyhatemachine8887 10 лет назад +8

Marcus Johansson Bullshit, it's not about what answer you give, it's about how you answer their questions. I traveled to Israel many times, and I'm what they might consider a threat since I'm young and not Jewish, and never once was I harassed by their security agents. All they do is look you in the eye and ask you a few questions to determine if yo're nervous or lying. I for instance am always nervous when flying because of my fear of flight, so most of the time, when I get to the security check person, I can see by the way they look me in the eye that they are a bit suspicious of me, but then they'd smile, and sometimes even comment on my fear of flying, and then they'd let me go. because that's how good they are, they can see that I'm innocent even if I look nervous, because they can easily determine the reason behind my nervousness.
The security check personnel are using techniques used by the Mossad to determine if you're lying, that's why if you're innocent the chances that you will be harassed (when I say harassed I don't mean an extra 5-10 min of questioning and your luggage going through a scanning machine) are very slim. My boyfriends father who is an Israeli Jew, used to work as a driver for the Israeli "security office" (I put the words "security office" under quotation marks, because in Israel everyone knows what working for the security office while being vague about it, really means). Even though he was only a driver, he was still trained like any other high profile worker, to spot if someone is lying to you, and to know how to interrogate people without them realizing that they're being interrogated.
This man can always see when someone's lying to him, and I nor my boyfriend could ever tell him a lie, even if it was over the phone.
So, you see, if even a mere driver for the Israeli security office can easily see when you're lying, a highly trained for that purpose security personnel could do in with their eyes closed. so believe me, if you've got nothing to hide, no one will bother you, and even if they did, I would still prefer to fly with El-Al because they make me feel so much more secure than flying with any other airline.

i will say that the security in Tel Aviv has been ramped up in recent years, I recently went through in 2011 and I was grilled at 3 am in the morning with extremely personal questions, was held up at security and almost missed my flight (all because of my i pad and I pad case), they also opened my suitcase, and gave me a hard time with my broken luggage zipper and then held me there for 45 minutes and needed to accompany me to the check in counter. I was stressed we'll just say, very stressed

One last remark: I've once watched an unsurveiled black bag left alone in a corner of Ben Gurion airport shopping area. I'm not scared easily so I stayed and watched. 15 minutes later I decided to tell a security lady. She casually walked to the bag, picked it up, asked aloud "Who's is this?" and then stayed put as the owner showed her the contents. A camera. Had that been a bomb, well...
I think both the fear of an attack and the belief in security, are bigger than the reality of either.

    1) I still fail to see what sort of booking info would need to be "forwarded" to the airline and how that would make a difference when going through security to board a plane.
    2) Ignite - "to set on fire" This does not mean "go boom." Perhaps you should look up the word "fuse."
    3) When one says they have a "flawless security record" it means - No hijackings, no bombings, no failed attempts aboard a flight...it has nothing to do with names on a passport.

"Asked a few questions" it says---Yeah right. My wife and I (White British Caucasians in our 50s travelling to Eilat for a diving holiday) were seperately interrogated at great length, by student age interrogators who then changed places and we went through the whole process again. They then went off a short distance to compare notes on our answers before finally allowing us to board. Questions included when and where we first met, and got married, multiple questions about our dive training and where we have dived around the world. They demanded to see our dive cards and log books which they read through..And I was a serving UK police officer for god's sake!
P.S. Many other airlines have also not had a hijacking in the last 30 years, without all this crap.....

    1) What difference would that make?
    2) Well, for one thing, the expert said "1 second"...but on top of that, no, "ignite a fuse" does NOT mean "to go boom" immediately.
    3) Obviously it's not JUST about the questions...it is based a lot on who is answering them...meaning just because a terrorist is a good actor does not mean he can hide the way he looks, where he is coming from, etc. (Don't forget we're talking about a flawless record for over 30 years. R u really going to argue?)

If you are Muslim Israel which fulfilled his service in IDF, for example, he would receive only the 20 secs basic interview (AI would take into account).

    1. I dunno, depending on how the intel is forwarded, some random Dutch site might not care enough to forward it at all? I don't know about the technicalities so I wonder.
    2. According to the dictionary it does, but if not, wonderful.
    3. The record isn't flawless either. My family name is A in Europe, but B in Israel. So depending on which passport (2 names, 2 nationalities) I travel with, I'm a different person with a different record.

3 things I don't get: 1, does the airport also receive intel on you if you don't book El Al, or if you book through some random, say Belgian, cheap flights site? 2, "He will be dead 3 seconds after he ignites his device" - yeah well "to ignite" means "to go boom", so by the time the terrorist ignites, everyone's dead, right? And what about good acting jobs/liars? I know someone with family who has worked for Dutch companies in Lebanon, he lied about this successfully or else he'd been screwed.

Basically anybody who isn't Jewish or of any white ethnicity will be questioned for a long time. Also, the security checkpoints are really intense I mean they took my DVD player-disassembled it and sent it back to my home after a month and I WAS CHARGED. I get their concept but it can be quite hectic.

You're right when you state that you may be wrong. Palestinians are Arabs, most Arabs -and hence most Palestinians- are Muslims. As a result, most if not all Muslims will sympathize with other groups of Muslims regardless of what the cause is. You are ignorant to imply that 9/11 did not contribute in some way, shape or form as a result of the conflict between the Israelis' and Palestinians'. You really need to study-up on geopolitics to have any credibility when posting on a forum like this.

Not at all. You wont get checked only for being or not being part of a certain race. They will check you depending on age, religion, race and where you are from. So basically, a christian black man from Los Angeles with a two way ticket would not be bothered while a white man born in the United Kingdom who lived the last 20 years in Iran with a one way ticket and very little clothes with him would be interregated for hours.

This is the old TLV terminal the shitty one has been replaced by the new one..... though I do love the Middle Eastern air hitting me when getting of the plane stairs.

No because most Israelis rather pay more and accept that it will take longer to get to the destination then to get killed etc.

Fly El Al and you can expect to be subject to lengthy interrogation bordering on abuse for up up to several hours. Anyone who is of Middle Eastern/South Asian/Muslim origin or who has a passport stamped in any of these countries, or who is openly critical of Israel's persecution of Palestinians, or who falls into more than one of the above categories, can be expected to be a suspect until proven otherwise. So flying with this airline, or to the country it represents is simply not worth it because much of the world's population is suspect to them. Myself, I would not fly El Al if you paid me to.

^ And I wonder if Palestine, once they become a country after four times of rejecting offers for their OWN statehood, would, when they designate a national airline, have their security personnel respond similarly to criticisms of the terrorist Hamas regime and how it uses Palestinian civilians as human shields as they try to execute their religiously extreme and genocidal aims.

You still didn't answer my question. I don't care if your parents moved to the UK or you did - the question is WHY did you move to the UK? Economic opportunity? Religious persecution? Something else or a combination of issues? I don't believe you when you state that you lived with Muslims peacefully. But I can understand why you would want to dodge the question.

    Also,
most palestinians DO have crappy conditions to live in - most of them live in refugee camps, incl. in Gazza, thanks for generations of Hope for the Destruction of Israel. A tool in the hands of the Arab world they were made the forever victim by their brothers.
They don't fight the "Occupation" of the West Bank or a certain half an acre on the Lebanese-Israeli border, they fight for the dissapearance of Israel.
You can share their view but do admit you believe Israel needs to go.

I can see your point regarding my mentioning 9/11, but I wasn't simply saying Arabs Are Arabs- I was reffering to 9/11 as a test case. Does it come as any surprise the plotters, executers and (the aftermath) popular support were Arab?
    It doesn't, does it?
    Not PC, but real.
Can you seriously judge profiling in airports?
Lets go on looking at 9/11 -
Good ol' Osama, our friendly Yemenite mass murderer, had a clear streak of criticism for the USA for its support for Israel. It is recorded (cont).

@WideWorldOfWisdom Believe it or not, there are morons out there who will make such jokes, or actualy mentally challenged people who will repeat what they've heard on TV. Not everybody cares or knows how serious the situation is and not everybody knows about the "kill first, think later" policy. NO other real life situation would be handled like that, unless your weapon is sharp and confirmed. Words alone warrant arrest, maybe elimination of the imminent threat (knockout), but not death.
