When you see the difference in lifestyle of the people in towns, you bound to move away from the very traditional. The whole idea of authentic tourism is to explore the way the people leave in the now, not how they lived 100 years ago.

If the trip organizers suddenly say "this is an immersive experience, no photos allowed" the # of people interested will drastically drop. What does that tell you? For me, this business rubs me the wrong way all around and I think those folks would rather be left alone.

This is a Catch-22 business model. No tribe that intends to consistently profit from this financially will deliberately choose to alienate themselves from modern technology. Even if they choose to be like old tribals only for the tourists (going back to using modern stuff once the tour is over) then she loses the authenticity of the operation.
