Basically everything about this video is hilarious. And, gotta love Sir Mix A Lot coming in around the 10 min mark. Awesome split pickup. Looking forward to the 4 pound video.
dude your wrist looks so strong at release throwing the 5 pounder lol. like your working the inside of the ball a ton. definitely harder to do that with 15
That ball deflects so much it's hilarious lol. I'm surprised you didn't do a speed challenge, see how fast you can throw a lightweight bowling ball lol
There actually is no minimum weight in the rules, just the 16 pound max. You could throw a 1 pound ball if you wanted to, and such a thing existed and got approved
I use a 10 pound Spare Ball and can heavily manipulate it to actually drive through with enough precision if I get tired of my Strike Balls. I could not imagine trying to get half of an already hard ball to do anything besides pray for a mixer.
5:35 Several years back I went and played duckpin for the first time. The light ball felt so weird my feet got all messed up and I even threw wrong footed on accident. Two days later at league it was a real challenge. Everything felt off with my 16lb balls until the middle of the second game.
The 2-10 and 4-9-10 conversions were epic! Only benefit of the 5 lb. ball was deflection. Weird way the ball goes through the pins leave some strange leaves. Michael you are a good sport doing this to entertain us!
You definitely need to look into getting a bunch of bowling RUclipsrs together sometime to do sime competitive challeges with the 4 and 5 pound balls. Some sort of splits challenge, a race to a certain number of strikes, an elimination game, and maybe one or more Baker Format games.
There’s an oldish video or 2 somewhere of them getting a bunch of RUclipsrs and bowling together and doing challenges including eating a bunch of burgers and I don’t remember what. Can’t remember what it was called though.
"Just as good as the Pro Shop would do it." 😂 You were throwing it way too fast. You gotta roll it slow right up the middle and let it touch the headpin on either side and then the magic will occur. We have a lady in league that uses an 8 lb house ball and gets amazing carry slow up the middle. Ball often takes out the 7 or 10 depending on which side of the headpin it hits. And yes, the slow motion effect is what creates the carry.
Scientifically speaking. It takes the ball about 4 seconds to hit the pins meaning you are throwing it around 10 mph. You are also getting about 10-15 revs on the ball meaning your hitting the pocket with about 51 Newtons of force as opposed to a 15 lb ball that would generate 154 Newtons of force. So the light ball literally has 1/3 of the energy hitting the pocket. You can't go flush because the ball doesn't contain enough kinetic energy to carry to the back row. It takes at least 5-10 Newtons of force to knock down a pin. With this said most of your energy is absorbed by the head pin with logarithmic declination from there. So you can really do 1 of 3 things. Add a ton of speed to the ball (about 30 mph), add a ton of side momentum (basically 30-40 revs) both are hard to do. The other option is to go high to Brooklyn and try and keep the pins on the deck longer so they can cascade. Interesting physics problem..... I should probably go do my homework lol...
Most bowling alleys have 5lbs balls. They keep them behind the counter or in an office because they only have a few of them. Usually reserved for toddlers whos parents dont want a ramp to deal with
If I were you, practice with a light ball like that. Your swing and release are so clean. Keep uping the weight gradually and you will be able to do that with the 15 pounder
Two things I noticed about this video: 1. The strategy of trying to hit the pocket with a light ball like that might not be the best way to go. You got better reactions with the Brooklyn shots as well as the first ball in the third game which was a deep, high hit that struck. 2. Might not be a bad idea to have a light ball just for certain situations. The way you picked up those splits by deflecting the ball looked like a better way to go at those kinds of splits rather than trying to pick it up like normal. Just saying.
Some of these hits are just absurd. I wonder what the drilled weight of this ball is. Figure it started at 5 lbs and has now 8 holes in it. The rack of pins is ~35 lbs. This ball has no chance 😂
The best shot is at 10:52 BTW
That was a beautiful pickup
These r in my bowling alley Don Carter Lanes
That was wild bro
That pickup was amazing too.
Agree-forgot you also shot lefthanded!

That ball bouncing off the 2 into the 10 was the best thing I have seen in the internet today. Can’t believe you called that.
The way the ball just deflects off the pins is so funny

Today I learned
@@220avg I second that
I came to comment the same thing lol
There is 10 pound is the lowest
@@black_ghd1917 not true at all.

I use a 12 lb spareball. Picked up the big four at a tourney last weekend with it. High game practicing with it is 233!
The tunes in this video are great. I wanna bowl there.
The 4-9-10 was impressive

The 2-10 conversion made the video.
I’d like to see you revisit the five pound ball at some point. When you do fill in the holes that came pre-drilled in the ball.
I think the problem with it not hooking is because it rolling over the holes it had pre drilled.
we NEED a 7-10 challenge with the lightweight ball!
Or the overhand throw...
Gotta point off the ditch to think about carrying with the light ball.
We used to bowl pot games with 6’s. That was the move
Love the fact I can hear alot of Grown Folk Music being played there
Love growing up on 90s R&B best era ever
The photo of Darren 😭

Look up I bowled 6 other bowling RUclipsrs on Darren’s channel if you want.
6:50 are you kidding me?? Nice shot guy!
Bouncing the 2 off the 10. Lmao. Unbelievable bowling content!
Man forgot to fill in the pre drilled holes
Still waiting for you to learn how to throw with the UFO spinner release!
These are some candlepin-tier leaves.
Damn, that bowling center is playing the hits! Good bowling btw!
“Professional drilled” my ass 2:24 😂😂
Any thoughts about adding surface to the 5 pounder?
No video from you is complete without a pfffft! 😅 thnx for the uploads
Do some power strikes. See how fast it can go.
Bro is just okay with all the shavings in his living room

Can you give us a link to buy these?
how do you use the ball as a messenger?
230 with a 6lb ball....Mikey you're awesome!!! FK would say you had the nutter butterz...LOL :)
The fact that you actually drilled that bowling ball on your coffee table in your living room is fucking awesome... Wooohooo
Yea crazy, left a big mess for his Mom to clean up
@@dmo8921 I literally can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic or not, but if you’ve seen his older videos, he cleans it up himself

Did you realize yet that pocket was no good and the higher on the head pin you were, the better the result was???
Sick spares man!
Dude, we need the 4 pound video and a video of you using the factory drilled holes.
I'm already subscribed!
the strike or split game is wild
Cool video talk tech bowling ball open bowling Michael 🎳
Drilling next to open drink, 220 DGAF! ;)
Reminds me of Kmart drilling balls in the day
7:43 was great
Most bowling alleys have 5lbs balls. They keep them behind the counter or in an office because they only have a few of them. Usually reserved for toddlers whos parents dont want a ramp to deal with
I remember my local alley where I grew up had a 5 pound ball with 5 holes.
If I were you, practice with a light ball like that. Your swing and release are so clean. Keep uping the weight gradually and you will be able to do that with the 15 pounder
There is a video of Marshall Kent throwing a 2lb ball.
I have a Favourite Bowling Alley. My Balls Weigh 6 - 14 LBS.
Really a hoot!
That ball leaves some weird splits, not surprised though
You need to bowl three games two handed with the 5lb bowling ball and bowl a league with it as well!
Now we have to see the 4lb ball in action.
Two things I noticed about this video:
1. The strategy of trying to hit the pocket with a light ball like that might not be the best way to go. You got better reactions with the Brooklyn shots as well as the first ball in the third game which was a deep, high hit that struck.

5lb spare ball is the play. 😂
I don’t know why pros don’t use super light spare balls to deflect the ball for splits
The split pick up was so sock
Not too many shots I see a ball messenger 😂😂😂
I'm coming to Dublin in January and I will be bringing the most viral item for your channel
Slow down the speed under 10mph and add like 300 more rpm’s and you will see more strikes
Brooklyn is the play for the 6 pounders, i have shot 200 with them.
carry...."ball be like nOPE...deflect to the gutter!"
Can we see you do this video again with packy
220 stole these clips from me, these were my league games last night 😭
Finally a ball I can throw fast down the lane 😂😂.
for the second game when it was 78 it was 6 and 3 not 6 and 2
I have 4 pound ball when I just start bowling(4 years old)
I can only imagine all that ball dust is like sand or glitter, you'll never get rid of ALL of it 😂
Some of these hits are just absurd. I wonder what the drilled weight of this ball is. Figure it started at 5 lbs and has now 8 holes in it. The rack of pins is ~35 lbs. This ball has no chance 😂
That is about the weight of a ball my mom throws 😂
The play on those early splits would have been to target the inside and rely on deflection. You missed two makeables.
I commented too soon. I see you figured it out in game 2. 😂
How do you not have a girl living with you again?
No way he just drilled that thing in his living room like that
See how fast you can throw it and strike "worlds fastest strike with a five pound ball"
4 - 9 - 10!
For the 4lb ball, you should throw 1 shot really slow to see if itll actually get through the pins or get stuck lmao
I think your goal for the 4 pound video should be "try to go a game without splitting once" instead of just a generic score
World’s shortest span 2.0 on those predrilled holes 😂
why did you drill it in your living room. jesus christ 🤣🤣
wait i already subbed for that 300.. so the deal is you owe me a 300 game. maybe with the 4lb ball?
I left a 4 9-10 on a pocket hit in league
I love how you drilled that on the coffee table 😂 outfkinstanding
With that weight the ball doesn't hit the pin The pins hit the ball
Did you just baby a 2-10?! What in the world....
I got a 3 lb bowling ball
3 6 8 10! Lol
He has a lower backswing with a 5lb ball
Being in the pocket guarrantees......nothing with a 5 pound ball.
135 average for all 3 games
How much bowling ball toxic dust got in your drink😶
If i shoot 300...
*Immediately splits*
Need to downgrade to my 2lb ball lolol
