Even 10 years later this video is superb. Was extremely helpful to me, thank you.
Amen
Same.
I'm pretty sure this video has help thousands of people and saved many, many hours of frustration... Thanks for a straight forward, no nonsense how to video the way it should be done...
Hey Richard, I apprenticed twice in my life. First was in the Bell System, second was to become a master electrician... I remember all too well how the "old timers" would come off as drill seargeants.
Their favorite was: "you kids today, who the hell is going to take over when us old guys are gone?" I learned something from my DS's, I can spot if baby sitting is required in 30 seconds. I don't know who broke you in to your business but you've made them proud. YOU GOT THIS AND DON'T EVER LET ANY ANYONE TELL YOU DIFFERENT!
A very simple and basic subject, with very simple and basic information, but OMG is it extremely useful and valuable. Thanks a million!
Eleven years since it was posted, this one is still needed and useful. Excellent.
It is RARE to find a repair info video this well done! Thanks!
Great video. My fuel filter has three of the connectors from 0:29 to 0:45 in the video. I got one off, and the others would not come off. I put it back on and drove to a oil change place, and THREE of them worked on it for over 20 minutes before they got it off. They they worked for another 15 minutes getting it back together because one of the lines blew off when I repressurized the system. It was marvelous to watch such teamwork. I am very glad I gave up and let bigger guys with more leverage (standing in oil change pit instead of lying on back under car on ramps) work on it. I do not think I would have succeeded.
This was tremendously helpful thank you. So often you are struggling underneath a car, unable to see clearly and unsure how to remove the fitting.
Thanks for this video! I have to replace my fuel filter and this is the first video I've seen that clearly shows the pinch type connector and shows where it clips to the filter and the line! Was a big help!
This video helped me out a lot. I spent the passed 2 days trying to find a video explaining the fuel line connectors for my 04 chevy silverado before blindly started my repair. Much appreciated the info.
Old school down to earth instruction video. Good filming and commentary. 5 stars all the way!
Great video, My son-in-law new he needed a special tool to release the fuel lines but did not know how to use it, his local mechanic said he will let him borrow that special tool which you showed in the video.
I wished I'd checked this video out few day's ago, I did my lolly and just cut through
the metal fuel lines on a Ford EL, watching this was so easy, thanks
One of the most useful videos on YT for mechanics. Thank You for taking the time to post.
Thanks for taking the time to watch!
@@AirtexFuelPumps 2006 F150 has yet a different connector. Pull little tab out and push in on the outer section, but they seem very difficult to release.
The fitting at 2:55 was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks so much for the information!
Thank you SOOOOOOOOOO much for this. Fords have two of these types of fittings. I wasn't worried about one, but the other needs a tool. I probably would have messed with it and lost an hour had I not hand the sense to do a search. You're a bunch of live savers. :-) Thx!
I can not see how ANYONE would thumb this down.... You even went to the extreme of breaking a pump to show how to get that piece out..
Guess some folks just too stupid to know what thumb up and down mean...
THANKS
I know this is before Trump was elected but the people that voted a thumbs down probably voted for Trump.
@@everettcalhoun8197 What? What does trump have to do with fuel line fittings

Learned more from this video than the 20 others I've watched.
Thank You very much for putting this together.
I just lowered my gas tank tonight, and saw the aluminum quick connects-which I now know takes a special tool for release-thanks to this video.
Originally, I thought I was looking at some fancy compression fitting.... and I was about read to give on trying this myself.
Now I have a new understanding of how to finish this project. Thanks for posting up this great information.
Glad to be able to help!
Good to hear the video helped! Thank you for your comment.
this is the best training video I have seen so far, thank you.
This video is very useful when you are going to replace a fuel pump.
Thanx for your reply , I stuffed up and on closer inspection found that I did infact have one of the fittings you show. It's the one with one single press in tab on one side . Amazing what a good clean can expose !
Thanx again , great tutorial
Greatly appreciate this informative video. Replaced the fuel filter on my rancher 420 and was getting irritated with the same green clip at 1:41. Found this great vid and it saved me a bunch of head ache. THANKYOU
Thank you, saved me today from a lot of frustration, should have watched this before I started though
What a Great Help. 99 Silverado has so many different connectors and you showed them. Thank you!!
Great help for us novices. Thanks much !
this is the kind of video I was looking for how to disconnect different style fuel line fittings! this guy is great showing us how to do it right so we don't end up breaking the plastic part... great video! thanks...! that's car manufacturers for you the design on these things so they want u break the part so u have to spend $$$ to buy a new hose & whatnot... :/
thx!!! this vid proved 2 my landlord how each model of vehicle has a unique configuration. also i learned how 2 reconnect my miata fuel filter!
Had a fitting on my Hummer H3 that i coudn't figure out. Did a search and it brought me here. Thank you!!
Excellent video. Quick, concise, thorough.
Extremely well done! Gonna go disconnect my Suzuki Boulevard fuel line now!
God bless you. Been fighting this fitting for an hour lol
Very good video. Really helps to see all the options in one place.
Very nice video. very thorough, and i didn't have to watch you jacking up a vehicle or spending time loosening and removing nuts, bolts and other ancialery periferals.Thanks.
Thanks for sharing this information. I have a 2004 Nissan Titan, it has the fuel line from hell. Fortunately I came across clip on fuel line fittings.
GREAT Video! Thanks for creating and posting!!! Very easy to follow and great examples. Can't wait to try
Best video on the whole internet.
Very good. Now I can repair fuel line without damage. Thanks for this video.
I wish I could give this one more upvotes.
Very informative video. Thank you for making it and sharing it with the world. Really appreciate it.
This video is awesome. I was really stumped and trying not to break this connector that I can barely reach, and cannot see.
Thank you for such a well filmed instructional video.
Thank you so much, now I can get the fuel line disconnected hopefully without breaking it!
AirTex - thanks for the easy to follow video.
the fitting that is described at 1:34 is giving me a nightmare, no problem getting it off, the problem is when I put the connections on to the new fuel pump they click right on but they leak like a sieve, I can't find any information on what to do about fittings that don't seal...................I'm ready to use seal all and permanently attach them to the pump, "seal all" supposedly works ok with gasoline exposed products not sure about PSI
Thanks for the video, it came in handy disconnecting fuel line from injectors rail.
Sir you did a wonderful job making this video. It's very informative gets right to the point and helped me get the job done right. Thank you so much.
hey there again☺️
you were so awesome to answer my question, i thought i might take a chance and ask another lol...the reason i asked about the horseshoe retainer is because i recently changed the fuel pump in my vehicle-
but after the install, i had something strange happen..
so the question is as follows, and if you can help i’d be so grateful!
-------
i recently had my fuel pump start to go out on me (sputtering under load), so i put a new one in... before that my oil and temp gauges read normal-
now, the temp and oil gauges go high 2/3 up the gauge- and it was right after putting the new fuel pump that i noticed this.
also, nothing appears to be wrong in the engine-
no excessive heat and it seems to run fine-
why would replacing the fuel pump make my other gauges read weird?
also- it’s an in-tank electric fuel pump on a
regular-carbureted 1987
ford e350/460. 7.5L
4-barrel
any advice/info?
oil sender and temp sender are relatively new..
no leaks!
ok THANKS!!!😄
This is the most helpful video ever!!!!! Thank u so much!
You are welcome. It is nice to know it helped!
Great video , simple and to the point! Thanks for posting
Thank you, I've been working on this all day, this was super helpful especially showing all the different fittings.
Thanks for taking the time for the great video
Thanks for taking the time to pay us a compliment! Great to hear it was helpful.
excellent video... only if I would have seen this video before I tried to disconnect the fuel connectors........
Oh you do not know the trouble you just saved me, thanks!
This video is a Godsend!!......thanks a ton
Oh my gosh! Thank you soooo much!!! Extremely helpful!!!
MAN, THANK YOU! the tip about using a zip tie Tightly around the pinch type connector REALLY saved my a$$. I was about 2min from bailing out of this ford fuel pump project and taking it to somebody.....after spending too many friggen hours and couldn't even get the evap unit off!.
tempted to go to dearborn and punch out a ford engineer who 'designed' these POS fuel connectors.
once I got the zip tie as tight as possible on the button it let me use both hands to fight the connector off. luckily no limit on curse words on this one.....definitely a patience tester (but it saved me hundreds in labor charges)
Where around the pinch type? At the tabs? I'm dying here
Sorry I don't remember from 7 years ago even which vehicle I was working on. Seems like you want to put the zip tie around the squeezable part of the clip and then crank it down as tight as possible. THEN, knowing that it should slide off, you can fight with spraying, spinning and pulling on the line. Good luck
Thank you very much. This video is very helpful.
great help video. less talk and more show. nice job!! thanks
Couldn’t find any videos on the pinch type but this one helped a lot… I wonder if there’s a tool for this kind of clip because my pliers keep slipping off the tiny plastic part lol. Thanks so much for the video !
Very well explained thank you. This critical for safely reinstalling.
This is a good video. However there is another type as well on my 2005 Dodge Caravan. I am as of yet still unable to figure the correct disconnect procedure for it.
Very Helpful Video. Thanks
You’re a legend. Thank You!
Thanks for the very informative video. I have a 'horseshoe' retained fitting and I thought I had the type that needed the release tool. Of coarse, the release tool didn't work. Thanks again.
Oh yeAh thise video solve my problem today.. Thank you for sharing this very useful tips..
Thank u thank u for tis vid I just got done putting in a fuel pump on a ranger very help full
Good info, thanks! Quick and to the point!
thank you so much, figure out how my pinch connector works and how it needs a new female piece to hold in place!
Glad the video was helpful!
Good job. Very useful for common people like me. Very good training. I wish successful always stay with you
Awesome instruction
finally got answer to my problem. Thanks!
Great video.
You showed everything but the one i wanted to see. Mine has a metal retainer clip attached to it(claw like) the hose just wont pull out afterwards. Probably because there is push style lockers inside of it too
Thumbs up! thanks a lot!
Great video. Very informative. Thank you!
Great, simple, informative video. Wish I could hug you, lol.
Thanks just what I needed!
Thanks for the info!
Thanks very much for that!!
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!
I swear, some people must have no life if they can sit around and design wierd stuff like this and make us hate them...
Best!! most helpful video on here thank you keep up great work
Nice video .many thank.greeting from Uruguay
Very useful, congrats
Just what I was looking for thank you
Thanks still had old pinch type fitting on .
I'm guessing all the"Thumbs Down"are from Australia, South America, South Africa - countries below the equator where a Northern "Thumbs Up" is expressed as a "Thumbs Down" There is simply NO WAY this video is useless!!
Great video ! Found the info I needed !
This is bleeping GOLD!!!
Thanks Richard...I was stuck!
what a fantastic video thank you very much its so helpful
Great instructions. Thanks.
On my Hyundai, the connector is a single push style clip like you show at 0:49 of the video, but on the opposite side is a blue plastic clip that I think is a lock. Are you familiar with that style? I think you just slide the locking clip down, and then push the tab to release it.
I think i have a fitting that requires a quick release tool but the connection right where it connects goes right into a right angle down into the fuel pump and the quick release tool can't be inserted because of this.
great show thancks man
Excellent my friend, Thanks from Brasil.
2004 chevy cavalier, cut out rusted gas lines to replace with gas efficient nylon hoses, but I didn't mark what line goes where. Please help!!!
Did what the video said to remove my horseshoe firing, it broke off. How do you remove the rest? Only thing i can think of is to push it back through but that's not going to well
Very good video
Is there any need to release fuel line pressure before trying to remove some of these fuel line fittings.
