The community center path is amazing in SVE, I would really recommend it if you're already interested in doing it! I personally feel like there is more community center content with SVE
I think the Joja Route is just as amazing if not better. I liked what they did with Morris and how they expanded his story. Finishing CC just makes his story missable.
There’s also post-CC content you don’t get with the Joja route. It’s certainly worth doing the SVE Joja route at least once, and I’d recommend befriending Claire to 6 hearts before you kick Joja out of town if you do follow the CC route.
You do miss an equivalent amount of content if you go cc, personally I like the cc route much more cause the content it adds is more based on cc vibes than joja vibes (idk if that makes sense, just wanted to put it in a way that didn’t spoil anything!)
HONESTLY, I absolutely agree with Sal about Joja’s grocery discount. If a store offered me 50% off groceries, I would be abandoning every other produce distributors so fast 😂😂
Edit: Holy crap!! Casually had this playing in the background while I worked on college stuff and almost choked on my cereal when I heard you talk about the dusty drawing 👁💧👄💧👁THANK YOU SM😭😭I’m just really happy you ended up liking it since you’re one of my favorite creators to watch when I need to relax :3✨
I believe if you hit 6 hearts with all the Joja Peeps then you'll still be able to access them after the CC is completed, so you won't lose out on their cutscenes and friendship at least
Mod that changed my life. Tree transplant. You can move trees around at Robins instead of having to plan out and chop/regrow trees. Just found you and I’m looking forward to more of this series!
I agree because I usually play SVE with the immersive farm expansion. I like to plant the fruit trees where the greenhouse is. So after completing the greenhouse, I move it next to Grampa's shed and them transplant all the fruit trees to where the greenhouse was.
I used to use tree transplant, but there's also crops transplant (I think it's the right name), and that one is easier to use because you move stuff yourself instead of going to Robin's. Just don't put away the pot/grab another tool before putting down the tree/crop 😊
Look up anything is only OP if you don't browse the wikis anyway. For players that have 50 wiki tabs open on a second monitor it's honestly just a time saver.
I love how you actually pay attention to the NPCs, I tend to ignore them all apart from the one I’m marrying. I didn’t complete the introductions quest till year two on one of my saves lol!
For Olivia’s gifts I personally just tend to buy her salads cause they’re an easy to get liked gift. The money and the lack of quality though does suck.
I was going to suggest the Look Up Anything mod originally, but honestly I'm really enjoying you experiment with gifts! It's one of my favorite parts. ❤ (And I'm so relieved that the ancient fruit got planted!!)
not sure if you already checked this but To-Dew List mod is pretty handy especially it helps me pick up where i left off from the previous save. Items can be customized too (e.g., show this item on the list on a specific day of the week or season or weather).
Me too! Although I’m planning to upgrade my laptop so I can play Stardew valley with mods on there because I really want to experience the mods on my own 😅 so sad that it’s not possible on console😫
Loving the series! It's amusing to hear the smile in your voice everytime you talk about Olivia. I'd recommend saving that Butterfish for a fish pond, that way you have a consistent way to generate liked gifts for Olivia.
I super recommend checking out Elle's coop/barn/house/path recolor mods. There's indiv ones for each, like, area and it seems sooo small but it really made me feel like just a lil more new-ness was added to my saves. Plus they have so many choices for each animal/house type and it can really spice things up
with the automate mod, you can use paths to connect stuff together. I use it to connect my tea saplings, fruit and trapped trees and crab pots to a chest
In my game I placed an auto chest next to my furnaces and put the stuff to be processed inside. Saves a bunch of time. Also, I enjoy watching you play. Thanks for posting.
I’ve started a new save with most of the mods you’re using and I’ve added Morris Redeemed and the Boarding House so I can complete the C.C and still keep Morris too. Thanks for a great play through and the mod suggestions, looking forward to the next episode 😊
Oooh im loving the series so far, definitely should go CC route, and also have a mod suggestion! SH's Wild Animals adds more life to the valley by having more animals stay around the maps and make cute noises! It really makes the world feel more alive to me, as I hadn’t realized how empty it felt with just the occasional rabbit and birds flying away.
I also think that Look Up Anything removes a bit of difficulty, and it is close to cheating. It's risk/reward to give a gift, and I prefer having to look up what I have already given someone in the relationships tab, remember, or try to guess what their personality would like. I love min maxing sdv, but I find it more rewarding to not rush the relationships.
I have been curious of the appeal to people of this game for a long time. I'm glad I started watching I wouldn't consider it up my alley in the past but it seems very calming. And I might give it a try. Thank you for the content
16:45 wow, Lazuli Farm on year 11. I found this Channel only a couple weeks ago and started watching the series with Lazuli Farm right away and now seeing that it is on year 11 it kind of makes me wonder how the farm looks now. It was a great series and so far this one is too
I put most of the rewards from Gunther into the library itself because in my head cannon, Penny would use them to teach with. Even the bear is like a kids chair.
For an amazing visual mod, try Dynamic Night Time, it makes it so the transition from day to night is a lot better. Theres another one I have downloaded but havent married anyone so I can’t try it yet, it’s called Spouses React To Death, basically, it adds a cutscene/dialogue of your partner worried after you passout in the mines. Two other spouse expansion mods I’ve been eyeing is Date Night and Please, Remember My Marriage. Date Night allows you and your boyfriend/girlfriend/marriage partner to go on dates, and Please, Remember My Marriage adds more dialogue acknowledging the fact that you’re married, haven’t tried them, but they look really cool, and I’ve always wanted expansions to dating and marriage Great video btw!
It's good to know that there's good post-Joja content in SVE. My first playthrough I did the CC and completely missed everything to do with Morris because I didn't bother befriending him. This time I went Joja route and am sad about missing the content that I got from finishing the CC. But I haven't gotten very far past just finishing it, so I don't know how it compares.
@@slwrabbits I'm just super surprise it has never ended up on any "Tips and tricks to playing SV" video I've ever seen. I feel like the workbench is a (not so) hidden gem, and having it pointed out would change a lot of people's perception of crafting.
Hey Sal! Your modded playthrough has inspired me to do my own modded challenge run where I can't go into the mines and use Wildflours mods to make it so I can do this without having to kill monsters. I can not get any money through the mines and I can only get iridium from traveling cart and meteors. It's really fun so far and my money making is going decent
I like binning skill, socializing skill, and luck skill. They add a lot for things you already do daily. And submerged crab pots help with knowing if the pots are baited or not.
СС route in SVE is AWESOME! i say you're missing more by doing joja instead of CC than CC instead of joja. you'll see later in the story why CC route is way better and suits the storyline more. also sooo true abt SVE wiki LMAO. love the content, waiting for the new episode < 3
Hi Sal! I've been really enjoying this series, it got me to create a new farm with SVE too and I've been having a ton of fun, so thank you very much for all of it! On another note, I wanted to warn you, I guess, about the Joja clearance bin mod - I don't think it really sells seeds at a lower price. You got pepper seeds for 48g, which is 2g cheaper than the Joja price of 50g per seed, but Pierre sells them for 40g (unless the mod changed Pierre's prices). For my part, I've noticed in the summer/fall that the clearance bin sells wheat seeds for 12g, and it's definitely 10 at Pierre's. The only seeds I saw in the clearance bin at a discount in my playthrough were strawberry seeds for 1g each, which was super broken lol (but did I buy them? ...yes)
Yeah I love going to the tea cutscenes as soon as possible now after how long it took in my first playthrough to realize the door wasn't just for decoration I already had like 8 hearts with Caroline and was multiple years into the playthrough 😅
This series is so much fun ^^ (I don't think looking up people's gifts would spoil the gameplay at all and it /would/ save you a lot of frustration, so if you want to definitely go for it. You're using so many mods with new content and the lack of a clear wiki would drive me up the wall.)
I've just started a new vanilla playthrough and never tried the tea sapling route before, so decided to give it a shot. I managed to hit it on the exact same day as you. 20k in one night! Insane early money
I vote for Joja. Everybody does the CC. Expanded shows Morris in a different, more sympathetic way, imo. I know most people go with the CC and probably ConcernedApe thinks that's the better way. But if you think about it, you can get 4 candles from your Grandpa with literally no friends at all. And also I'm am a firm believer in competition esp if it's Pierre. Love your playthroughs
Tip for noobs(or just anyone who hasn't learned it yet). You can break the crystal looking rocks on the ice levels with a sword so you don't have to use all your energy with your pickaxe and you should break them whenever you can because you can get crystals from them every once in a while, I think it may just be frozen tears but I could be wrong.
about the automated crabpots - you can put worm bins next to the chest and the crabpots, and they will automatically produce bait for said crabpots so you don't have to check on.them every day, espetially useful for far places like beach you can also put recycling bins next to them, so they will automatically recycle any trash you get, and you really don't need many of them because it will happen throughout the day you can also make an area just for smelting, put all your ores and coal in the chest next to few furnices and come back to all the ores smelted - very useful for the early mines and such, just go up the elevator every five levels, drop your items in the same chest and go back just be careful to put your quartz and fire quartz there if you don't want them smelted hahah
just started watching so not sure if you do this later on in the video, but you can connect a recycling machine to your crab pot chest !!! It'll automatically pull the trash from the chest
As someone that did both community center and joja route, i've prefered the Joja Route way more for how different than Stardew it feels. I liked the CC route but felt like it was just vanilla+ while the joja route is really fun and unexpected. At least to me.
In my SVE run I'm playing with my friends I give Morris a hated gift whenever I see him. Then I announce "Here you go Morris. Go fuck yourself." Then I give Claire a loved gift.
Also theres a mod somewhere on nexus that makes it so the shipping bin has an inventory, since youre using automate id definitely grab that incase you ever accidently dump a chest into it. I cant recall the name of it but I do rememeber that if it isnt limited by its inventory, i think anything put in is just autosold like normal when its full
Better friendship mod could be used as an alternative to look up anything mod since it only shows like gift if it is in your inventory when you approach villagers
both routes come with new characters and areas, but the community route will lock you out of 6+ heart events with some of the new characters you've already seen. I personally prefer the community route but joja is a newer experience, it feels really different to a regular stardew run. probably because the joja route isn't very fleshed out in vanilla.
The new area to the southwest of the Wizard's tower has a metric crapton of trees as well as the universally-liked Four Leaf Clover item. Also, mod recommendation: Mulch. It's basically a poor man's Fiber Seeds, but it only gives a single piece of Fiber. (I modified my copy to yield another Mulch Starter, with the unpredictable result of potentially getting a higher-quality Mulch Starter. If you don't mind taking a hit to your inventory, you can consider modifying it too.)
I'd say stick with community center for this playthrough. If you want to try joja path, should do it another time while romancing morris, maybe for a normal video and not a full playthrough or smth, yknow
i've JUST finished my completion run using expanded a couple days ago and while the mod itself is so much fun, it was so disheartening trying to use the expanded wiki. there were a handful of items i couldn't find on the wiki naturally and instead had to open the mod folder and look through what the new added items were (they ARE listed on the wiki, just not in an intuitive manner) + theres 3 crafting recipes not listed on there unless you go to the crafted items page itself nor does the shop theyre from have its own page.
Enjoying this series! I think it would help to make the thumbnails have the episode number, or move the number closer to the start of the title because on mobile, we sometimes can't see the number until clicking on the video (depending on where in the app we are). I'm watching from the playlist so that i don't accidentally go out of order
I love this series!! I was wondering if you're planning on changing the style of your farm buildings?? Sorry if you've already answered this 😅 (my computer quit, so I'm living vicariously through you lol)
I’m not sure if you know this but you can edit settings and use paths to connect things for automate. You don’t need a second chest to run down the River side if you just connect a path from the chest to a crab pot
I've done both routes in SVE, and have to say that I prefer the Joja route. I really like the continuation of Morris' storyline. Also, I can't believe you completely ignored when Andy straight up told you one of his loved gifts at the Saloon.
Don't know if you know this or not but, you can actually break the large bushes that are meant for decoration with an axe, so you can break the ones by the river if you ever want to plant more rice shoots. I don't think they give wood though.
The butterfish being incredibly slippery is such a lore win.
The community center path is amazing in SVE, I would really recommend it if you're already interested in doing it! I personally feel like there is more community center content with SVE

I personally prefer the community route but joja is a newer experience, it feels really different to a regular stardew run. probably because the joja route isn't very fleshed out in vanilla.
Watching this video is definitely the perfect ending to my night
Also Concerned Ape is DEFINITELY changing the price of Tea Saplings in 1.6. It’s absolutely busted
Aw man, goodbye year one greenhouse for me, then :(
The new area to the southwest of the Wizard's tower has a metric crapton of trees as well as the universally-liked Four Leaf Clover item.
If you want to try joja path, should do it another time while romancing morris, maybe for a normal video and not a full playthrough or smth, yknow
the community center route has a lot of good content!!
i've JUST finished my completion run using expanded a couple days ago and while the mod itself is so much fun, it was so disheartening trying to use the expanded wiki. there were a handful of items i couldn't find on the wiki naturally and instead had to open the mod folder and look through what the new added items were (they ARE listed on the wiki, just not in an intuitive manner) + theres 3 crafting recipes not listed on there unless you go to the crafted items page itself nor does the shop theyre from have its own page.
imagine a stardew valley expanded, ridgeside village and east scarp playthrough
I've tried rigside + SVE, but the dialog in rigside is just insanely cringe to me.
Enjoying this series! I think it would help to make the thumbnails have the episode number, or move the number closer to the start of the title because on mobile, we sometimes can't see the number until clicking on the video (depending on where in the app we are). I'm watching from the playlist so that i don't accidentally go out of order
Sorry to hear you've been sick, get well soon captain o7
I love this series!! I was wondering if you're planning on changing the style of your farm buildings?? Sorry if you've already answered this 😅 (my computer quit, so I'm living vicariously through you lol)
I was thinking about it, although I think I want to use something a bit more subtle than, for instance, the medieval buildings
@@salmence100 Elle's buildings are BEAUTIFUL and more natural colors. Not covered in vines or any of that.
I’m not sure if you know this but you can edit settings and use paths to connect things for automate. You don’t need a second chest to run down the River side if you just connect a path from the chest to a crab pot
Finally. Been waiting for another part for a minute.
@Salmence100- sick gift.
I've done both routes in SVE, and have to say that I prefer the Joja route. I really like the continuation of Morris' storyline.
Also, I can't believe you completely ignored when Andy straight up told you one of his loved gifts at the Saloon.
I just watched ur vid about how to mod and now i subscribe bc u helped me so much
Don't know if you know this or not but, you can actually break the large bushes that are meant for decoration with an axe, so you can break the ones by the river if you ever want to plant more rice shoots. I don't think they give wood though.
In expanded there is a lot of added lore and cool stuff involving the wizard, I recommend becoming friends!
salmence new episode!!! let's goo ❤
Okay, how did I not find out about selling Tea Saplings until now? Time to go ham on Caroline in my own SVE playthrough, lol.
