"If you see me on the street, you will cross the street, wether or not there is a crosswalk present. Your pedestrian safety is of no importance to me." THIS IS THE BEST LINE
Julia Fernandes
800th like
"okey"
One of my favs!
I honestly quote this on a regular basis.
Totally agree!
"Life isn't fair. It's hard and cruel. You have to pick your friends as if there's a war going on! You want a husband who will take a BULLET for you! NOT one who points to the attic and says, 'They're up there!'"
my favourite line.
this was when i knew i loved him
@@slondinium same
These parents of Joe and midge who read as utterly neurotic but in their historical context are acting out of immediate trauma is some of the most brutal comedy I’ve ever seen
@@slondinium Let's not forget the script writers!!!
"If you're going to have a voice, you'd better be careful what that voice says." - my favourite Abe quote.
Best line of the last season. It is elegant advice about politics. Amy Sherman Palladino knows how to be subtle.
That was my favorite too!!
Under the right to freedom of speech and expression...this line is the fine print nobody saw😏
"Abe, the door is open. You can come out... Abe?"
"I don't want to come out. I want the *ability* to come out."
KyleRayner12 that was hilarious..
I effing LOST it at that.
everyone in quarantine right now
@@blindpeopledostuff3587 It was at that moment that I knew I'd love this show.
The funny thing is I just binged watched this and I totally felt it when Abe said “I wanted the option of coming out” lol
Abe is the best character beside Midge, love them!
Y Susy !
Susie!!!
Midge is not the 2nd,
there is Abe
Susie
Rose
and then maybe Midge
Susie and Abe
I love everyone!
Tony Shaloub is still a national treasure and he continues to turn in amazing performance after amazing performance. Abe Weissman is up there with Monk in my mind, and he's been my favorite character since the beginning of the show. And this barely scratches the surface on Abe Weissman.
Kinglink Reviews I completely agree!! I saw Tig interview him in Under A Rock with Tig Notaro, and he’s one of the most charismatic, humble, intelligent beings I have ever seen. But he embodies these roles (Monk/Adrien and Abe) so beautifully, too! He’s such an enigmatic actor. ❤️ he also doesn’t appear to age. Ugh, love him. And I don’t say that often!
100%! Abe is the highlight for me and, ironically, Midge's stand-up bits are the low points.
@@Timberella3003 I thought the real joke in this show is that Abe is hilarious and his daughter...kind of isn't.
You get to the point. Did you see him at the Paley Center interviews with the whole cast? Tony Shalhoub was the only one out of 11 politely answering a question from the audience while Alex B. made fun of the asking lady. It was such an embarrising momemt! And I thought: Tony, please help her, save her!!! He did!
Agreed. To say Tony Shaloub is the best is clearly an understatement, because he rises above and beyond anything and everything he does...now and always will love him.
My fave bit "Moyshe be quiet...I'm atoning.................for the things I'd like to do to this man" ha ha so good
He absolutely deserved the Emmy for this
Absolutely!!!
I agree.
Sooo we're not going to talk about his Catskills workout routine?? When I saw it, I nearly died laughing😂
SAME
The combination of his lil’ romper and serious demeanour 😂
Was looking for this comment! The conversation with Joel about his romper! 😂
Lol this video needs to be longer and live your pic btw
ME TOO That was hilarious!
“Anyone with pockets grab a roll” 😂😂
“That beard is a fire hazard “ I’m stealing this
Someone already threw me this line, as a bearded man. It's a good one
Even though I think it's hilarious, I wouldn't DARE use that comment on anybody I know with a big wooly beard like that.☝🏽😅
"Give him some air he just saw a naked man" oh my god, best line 😂😂
Abe represents my inner dialogue conversations with people.
It cannot be overstated how much Abe elevates this show. This is a great show with or without him, but whenever he's on screen, you're in for the greatest television you've ever seen.
For a secondary character, Abe was too iconic. I feel like they were more iconic moments, for example, every time he is mean towards his students when he started loving Paris by spending time w/ anarchist or communist(I can't remember) and when he went to create a communist or anarchist newspaper with college dropouts
Midge still rises above iconic Abe.
"Just because there is a door does not mean you use it. A door does not represent infinite possibilities."
Amy Sherman Palladino still writes the best dialogue.
- You hesitated...
- Yes!)
My favorite conversation of all time)
I've just realized that when Rose wanted to stay back in Paris, Abe insisted on going back to NY saying there is MY JOB, our life, home etc. So Rose had to go back for them to have it all.
But when Abe decided he doesnt feel like working anymore cuz it doesnt make him happy he let go of the well paid job that provided them home just like that, leaving them literally on a street.
Difference we see on woman's and man's perspective in marriage
Ridiculous thing is that if he didn't want to teach anymore he just could have stopped teaching and he still would be getting paid and have their apartment. There was no need to formally quit and give up the tenure. It's ridiculous.
@@stefanmakara373 it was just for 1 year and also when you come to that point of loathing your job believe me you don't want nothing to do with it not even a knuckle
@@robbins2973 what was 1 year? I didn't watch the new season yet so no spoiler please.
I only just started this show, but so far his best scene was when he was in the classroom talking about matrices, then starts talking about Midge and Joel, and draws a little tombstone at the bottom of the linear matrix that's supposed to be him.
Always made me wonder if that was actually scripted or if that was just something he did
"It's easier to be happy when you are good looking"
- Abe Weissman
That made him the wisest man.
😊😊😇😅
I’m pretty sure rose said that😅
One of the only ads I _did not_ skip. Ever.
I watched it all the way through.
I wanna watch this now.
My mom, may she rest in peace, used to say how she loved Tony Shahoub on Monk (and I never really listened 😂 ) but now I’m just loving him on The Marvelous Mrs Maisel 👏 👏 👏 [plenty of time to binge watch these days 📺].
my brother told me the same and once I told him omg you would love this character in this show I watch he was like THATS TONY FROM MONK hahaha.
I'm rewatching all of Monk during this quarantine.
Tony Shalhoub Plays Abe Weissman so well and is the main reason i love this show! He is a show stopper!
I stopped at 5, I'm gonna watch the show
You should
Welcome to the dark side. Here have some brisket
Ralf Demosthenes
It’s a great show!
You're in for a treat.
Did you watch it? 8D
"Just because there is a door does not mean you use it! A door does not represent infinite possibilities!"
Best line! 😂
He’s the best character in the whole series 😂♥️
My favorite part is the vector chalkboard scene after he first finds out about them splitting up. The little grave he draws is hilarious.
Yo what about that whole x axis-y axis lecture 😂 Abe is a fkin legend
See ya
This man is my AESTHETIC.
aesthetic mood
Tony Shalhoub is an honorary Jew. It has been decided.
His family background is Maronite Christians from Lebanon, so ethnically, he's close enough.
I... thought he WAS Jewish lol
HE'S NOT REALLY JEWISH OMG
Waaaaaaaait i thought that he was a Jew
Kùi Maina nope! He is Lebanese.
I can't believe his whole Lenny Bruce experience was left out. When he stood up to those cops lol.
Abe is my spirit animal.
The lines and how he delivers them crack me up. He is so very good with a cast that is also magnificent. Tony Schaloub is also wonderful in the movie Big Night with Stanley Tucci.
What fantastic dialogues and Tony is simply brilliant! I love this show. Waiting for Season 4.
They left out "she uses cabbage.... in a punitive manner!"
“She said you should back off”😂😂😂😂
They forgot when Abe tells Miriam to lie like a Bible's salesman..
when was that again? xD
@@lottelino6407 season 2 episode 7
“Your pedestrian safety is of no importance to me anymore.”
2:23 that was a nice transition. Abe talking about Midge ruining their life and then talking about life being unfair.
Abe is a whole mood
I discovered this series just recently and first character I saw was Abe. What a marvelous performance by this seasoned actor. Kudos, Sir ! More power n love to you. 🌹
Abe representing the greatest generation but has boomer energy
Let's hear it for " Boomer Energy".
Def didn't have boomer energy.
Yeah definitely not “Boomer” energy.
Abe reminds me of my grandfather, and his generation was Greatest Generation/Silent Generation
Abe Weissman is my all time favourite TV series character.....just such a legend!
Tony Shaloub: consistently excellent. A true professional at his craft.
The exercise outfit!! The cape!! 😅😂
The fact that Abe and his wife had the same reaction to the naked man is the funniest thing ever. And Abe shaking his hand, frustrated, like what do you mean you don’t speak French?...
This entire show is gold 💗💗💗
Your pedestrian safety is of no importance to me.
“I really can’t hear you; I live in a lunatic asylum”
Perhaps the only show or movie with the best dialogues ever!!! Especially for Abe!
Absolutely flawless.
2:28 The moment I realized that this show is going to be amazing.
#28. Abe nearly getting a heart attack seeing a naked man in the arts class is priceless. 😂
my fav was when he is being served mashed potato at home by their maid. his lines then are killer😂😂
Best actor and under appreciated. Love Tony
He gives some of the best advice in the whole show
clicked beacuse I was a fan of monk. I'm going to have to watch this
Finally a fellow Monk fan
@@Nina-wt5nw omg heeyyy it's so rare for me to find a fellow monk fan. Like the only person I know who was also a fan of it is my mom😅
@@ladychips me too, I watched it with my dad, but literally no one else knows it, which is quite sad, because the show is so good.
He absolutely makes this show. Don't get me wrong, it's good otherwise, but he is hands down the highlight
@@Nina-wt5nw funny how we both watch it with our parents haha weirdly glad to feel connected to a stranger over a tv show
Rename the show: The marvelous Mr. Wiseman. His performance is spectecular, an Oscar earning. Next to him all figures pale. Realy!
*"I need you to speak to Myriam" *
.. "about what?"
*"her son, he eats with his mouth open... and it needs to stop" *
😂😂🤣🤣😆 why is it that line cracks me up? I think he says it with such conviction... and his delivery is perfect.
Iconic moment #20 is why I relate to and love the character Abe weissmen
This is JUST what I needed to get me through this miserable afternoon. Tony Shalhoub = comedy gold.
"Just because there is a door does not mean you should use it. A door does not represent infinite possibility!" 😂😭
Literally my favorite character ❤️
You don't get to be happy, until I can get to my piano!
He's so awesome
Love Tony Shaloub. Great actor playing a great character. ❤
His play is perfect, isn't it?
Favourite character. 💝
The main character is a stand up comedian but her dad gets the most laughs from me 😂
The first few scenes where we see him interacting with Ethan lol
Like father like daughter😍😍😍😂😂😂
Please include the scene from Catskills when he says get the f**k out of here and the tomato juice
One of my ALL TIME FAVORITES from Abe omfg I screamed 🤣😭😭😭
Tony Shalhoub is one of the 10 best American actors working today.
Would like to see him in a big movie as main character. Wrote that Amazon. Perhaps they would like to finance that. 🤣 🤣
Abe is my favorite character when I watch the show for the second time! My favorite bits is the I need my personal VECTOR space see ya~
I love Abe. ❤️❤️
Abe Weissman is the reason I’m a math major
I adore this show!!!! I like him in Monk, but this takes the cake, candles, and the ice cream too!
Telling Ethan "I need the room" is epic :)
Abe is such a mood
Gotta rewatch all seasons! They should put him and Susie together in a room haha
Amazing! Love it!
my favorite character in the show!
the star of this show
I'm gonna use the door quote
The real star of the show
So great!!
I LOVEEEE ABE ... I NEED AN ABE IN MY LIFE
he is very good in this roll, this show is fantastic!
I miss this show.
Abe Weismann is my spirit animal
He is my favourite charachter.
He’s my spirit animal
okay but we STAN ABE
4:18
That chest beating thing. We Catholics do that to. At least, the older, more pious types.
It’s like christianism was based off judaism or something.
i freaking love this
I'm counting the days until season 4
Abe is my hero.
Abe is my FAVORITE.
Where is the "okey" scene from when Miriam got her job. Those "okeys" are hilarious. 😂😂
What a brilliant beautiful man!
