You rock Winbush! I love using the controller to navigate the asset packs and stuff. I look for great camera angles this way and then create a camera actor to remember my places I like. Also, the PS4 & PS5 controllers will work on PC, you just need to go get something like the DS4 for windows application. It basically works as an emulator to make windows recognize the PlayStation controller as an Xbox controller. I have used both my PS4 and PS5 controllers this way with Unreal and I don't notice any lag or issues.
That's great to know I wonder if that would work with the Nintendo Pro Controller as well. I don't have any PlayStation controllers but have a few Nintendo ones I couldn't get to work.
So for the Nintendo Pro you would want to connect to your PC via Bluetooth and the then you need a free software called "BetterJoy". It is similar to that DS4 one I mentioned for PS controllers. So basically it will help your computer recognize it as an Xbox controller. Unreal won't recognize controllers unless they are Xbox or via the emulation software. Let me know if it works! Now I'm super curious :)
I know this can work with other devices n which I still need to test out but if you have an xbox controller laying around its literally plug n play 🤙🏿🤙🏿
UE become more and more to play with.(I think, 1. if the control and record start and stop the same time, 2. the camera path can edit later, will be better)
so cool! thanks for all your awesome videos! Because of you i made my first motion design music video :) you're top tier man, and i hope life is treating you well
@@JonathanWinbush really???? Thanks so much!! I was hoping to get the audio reactivity going along, but it was a pain in the sequencer hah ruclips.net/video/ReTtspaqMWM/видео.htmlsi=oKeSs1vVVihQWHwj
Shucks, I see your result is the same as mine. That right stick that Pans is ultra fast as the camera speed slider only affects the left controller which strafes, forward and back. I tried googling how to slow that right stick down and found nothing. ITs a big mystery!
Hey Win live your content... any chance you'd have insights on how to bake a static mesh into an animation with a skeletal? Or even 2 skeletals in the same sequnce? UEFN for reference
@JonathanWinbush All in uefn I was referencing to like when you have a skeletal mesh in a cinematic sequence with multiple animations and your able to bake all of those animations into one... is there a way to add another skeletal mesh or static mesh into that same bake??... I've realized/Learned I just need to attach such objects to the skeletal during the animation... leaving the animations universal. Though it'd still be cool to know if it was possible to bake them out with the animation..
@@teddygoldstien5058 I guess I'd need to see an example of what you mean. I know for like when I did this walk explosion I had to bake the animation in cinema 4d for each of the mesh then one by one reference that animation in the sequencer x.com/JonathanWinbush/status/1790882134036799619

I would like to record a take where I run around with a third person character, and after that record camera shots of that running with the controller. Is this possible?

This is gold!!!!! Thanks Winbush. My Xbox controller that's just lying around will be put to good use now!!!
Always great when you can make use of stuff you already have! 🤙🏿
always the best tutorials here , thank you.
My pleasure! 🤙🏿
As always, hats off Winbush! Thank you! This one was a perfect addition to my understanding of the sequencer.

I can see a matrix 360 shot....... Nice work, I'm going to use this in my cinematic workflow.

WINBUSH! Awesome but how to add camera shake WHILE you are using the controller? Blueprints?
Yea I can do a camerashake tutorial if needed but you should be able to add it to your camera in the sequencer using the shake blueprint
