Great thanksgiving centerpiece idea
That's really cool idea... surly gonna make....
A quick tip from someone who works with concrete a lot - when sanding concrete just use vacuum and lay it near the object you're working on using the maximum power of suction. The optimal position for the suction hole is a little farther away from the object so it removes the dust all around the object and not in the certain spot of it. The dust will be sucked in immediately. If you planning on using orbital sander or something similar, even non professional tools have option to plug in a vacuum. Works even better, but a regular vacuum will do just fine. I really like your project and how you manage to do something using just simple tools. If you're looking to improve your concrete projects definitely go for orbital sander and rotary tool(works miracle for small details). You can also easily get rid of bubbles on the surface just by adding a thin layer of the same concrete after it got dry to get it more finished looking. Good job!
Thanks for the tips. I don't know that I'd want to use my household vacuum for cement dust, but if I had an old shop vac or something, then definitely I'd try that! I don't have an orbital or rotary sander though we may be investing in one in the future since we have a lot of home DIYs planned, so that's a great idea, too. In this case I need to teach people using the simplest tools and techniques; a lot of people won't have a sander and I would never expect someone to go and buy one just to do one of my DIY tutorials.. unless it was completely necessary, of course. So I just like to and need to keep it simple for my viewers. Your tips are great, though, for anyone who does already have the tools, so thanks a bunch for commenting for sure! :D

This is such a neat way to make molds for casting. You could also pour liquid soap or wax into those for soap bars and candles! We make a machine called the FormBox that actually allows you to make more complex molds. On our channel is a cool video showing how someone made a geometric concrete planter from a potato!

I love the pie shape. Next try with a corrugated box just around the bottom -then with the color. I think it will look like the paper that is around individual pieces of cheese cake. Just a idea.

Hey there! Sorry to hear that the project didn't work out for you... maybe give it another try? Thanks for letting me know about the other video. I took a look at it and it's basically just a straight copy of my tutorial so I will contact that person. It's ok to use other people's ideas as a jumping off point for your own tutorials, they are even allowed to be quite similar, but not an obvious copy. Good luck with your project if you decide to try again! xo

Cement on your skin is not very healthy. There's products out there tot seal it when it's dry, you can even choose between wet look and dry 'dusty' look.

Tip for your make up, I think a nude pink color would look great on you the red is too bold, in my opinion , if you love the red then do you , but I think it'll compliment your face better.
