This has been helpful. Never used something like this, have been manually downloading TV shows for like 5 years. Built a FreeNAS box and saw the options for Sonarr and Radarr and did some reading. I can't believe I have never heard of this before. The VPN setup will be a little bit of a PITA but this was super helpful for me as a noobie. Thank you and great content!
@Hip-IO Do you need both an indexer account and a usenet service membership? What I can gather is that an indexer just lists things you're looking for but then you need the usenet account to access those files. Am I correct? Thanks! Great video series. Got me all set up
Real helpful, just like couchpotatoe one. Quick question, any way of linking it to trakt so it works like it does with Couchpotatoe ( can download straight from trakt) ?
So, in your first video you walk us through the setup of NZBGet, which I was able to do. I'm going through this video to set up Sonarr and I seem to get everything except the indexer. You kinda blew past this pretty quickly and just say that "you should be able to get your address and api key from your indexer." Well....I set up NZBGet, have been all through the page and can't find anything on what the API key is. Any advice on how to find out what this is talking about?
@Hip-IO thank you for this video its helped me on a few different occasions! I do have a question though, what if you have multiple Categories for the download client (TV Shows, Anime, Web Series, etc.). Do you create a separate "client" for each or is there a way to list multiple in one?
@Hp-IO Thanks for the great video. I had to put a new HDD in my pc yesterday due to the OS going down on me. Your video saved me. I for sure have bookmarked it for later use. I plan to make a regular server to put this type of stuff on and your video will be a BIG help when I can do that. Right now, with all the stuff I have on my current pc, it's making it work way too hard. Also, I plan to set up my laptop with external HDD's to have a back up in case the server should go down on me. Again, Thanks for the great video.
Hey great video thanks. I have some troubles with sonarr not finding all episodes in the same series/season folder. What can be the reason for this? f.ex. i finds episode 1 but not the next 14...
+Carsten Johansen if you go to your indexer, do those episodes exist. With the same criteria you requested, HD720 + size? You may also want to see how many api requests your indexer allows.
Brian Hansen Either you're incredibly stupid, or a troll. You do realize almost everything runs Linux..? Android phones, Apple phones, 99% of all (web) servers etc, the list could go on for ages.
hipeople YT. Thank you for pointing that out lol. When I read that i legit sat there unsure of life haha. Apple would never use Linux, they're smarter than that :)
If you go to sonarr webpage they have the install instructions, fairly simple process github.com/Sonarr/Sonarr/wiki/Installation#macos if thing else in the video should be almost the same

Thanks 👍
That was pretty cool to see "live" troubleshooting. Not many tutorials show what happens if something goes wrong.
Thanks!

Perfect follow up to NZBGet, thanks for guiding me through this so well.

+Hrothgars Hoard you need to have a indexer to search for the files , check out this wiki for providers www.reddit.com/r/usenet/wiki/indexers

Can you make it so that Sonarr turns on my vpn when downloading content?
Will this work with NZBHydra ?
Hey great video thanks.

f.ex. i've add'ed usenet crawler - here i can add my shows... should that be done?
aaah wait.. maybe its bacause i have with danish subs.. so the file name is with dksubs... not a lot of those on the indexers
I love these series!! Thank you!!!!
+Goku Travelling np, thanks for the feedback. I enjoy making vids people find useful. Cheers
Minor correction: 5:40 the right hand side is the maximum size (you said minimum)
How u know if sonarr is downloading ?
You would see it in your downloader e.g NZBget
Great tutorial. Thanks man.
I need a tutorial like this for Linux!
I hope you are joking...
Brian Hansen Either you're incredibly stupid, or a troll. You do realize almost everything runs Linux..? Android phones, Apple phones, 99% of all (web) servers etc, the list could go on for ages.
Brian Hansen Android runs full Linux... i even have a terminal installed. Do your research before saying something stupid, "idiot".
Brian Hansen Yep, stupid :^)

Awesome video! many thanks!
great video thank you so much
👍🏻
Hi this has been really useful. Many thanks
Very helpful👍
Glad it was helpful!
"still use torrents"...
You know they be sending that letter some day telling you to settle for $5000 or go to court like directv card programmers
The one thing I was trying to figure out, Indexers, you didn't really cover
What you looking to know about indexers?
i need a video on how to install sonarr in a iMac
If you go to sonarr webpage they have the install instructions, fairly simple process github.com/Sonarr/Sonarr/wiki/Installation#macos if thing else in the video should be almost the same
If you use Usenet you don't really need a video like this to show you
Thanks, I reckon that got me through this madness.
Couldn't agree more James, he made it very easy!
