G'day Jason, Thanks for another great video. I bought my Squier 1st Telecaster on the same night that I bought my 1st Squier Stratocaster. The salesman at Allens in Kew wanted to close up, but he knew that as long as I was there, I was going to buy something. LOL. Now I have a few Teles, and a few Strats. If I want to play a guitar, I pick up a Tele. If I remember that I picked the Tele last time, I pick up a Strat. I've never been a big user of a Strat's vibrato, so it's really just the actual guitar that I choose. I know that it's off-topic, but if I want to play a guitar, and don't want to decide between 2 or 3 pickups, I'll choose an Epiphone LP Jr - one of these days, I'll build a Strat & a Tele with a single pickup on each one. Keep up the good work Andrew
Lots of good information in there. I have both. Favored the tele for years. Trying to spend more time with the strat and discover what good classic rock tones are hidden in there. I'll give the bridge a try with the fuzz face. I've always gravitated toward the neck or the in between sounds. Thanks a bunch!
Great video! I own both and if i could only have one, I probably choose the strat, especially in HSS config. But luckily I don't have to pick one over the other 🙂 .
Cool vid. Love em' both. If I could only have one guitar.... I'd grab the Strat - and as others have said... I'd want it in the HSS configuration. But thank goodness.... we don't have to make that call. We can have more than one! Love the Tele too. To me... the Tele sits in a pocket of it's own... right in between the Strat and the Les Paul, which I also love. The Spice of Life!
My first proper expensive guitar was a Fender Telecaster (Japanese made) 'cos a lot of my favourite guitarists at the time played them (Syd Barrett, Yardbirds-era Jeff Beck ('Heartful of Soul' -- Hello!? I mean, what a sound), Prince (yes, I know, it was a Hohner), Steve Cropper, Roy Buchanan... also the fact that it was sound behind the riff of Daddy Cool's 'Eagle Rock') just loved that "spank". Unfortunately, it got stolen, and for some time I had no great guitar. When I finally had some money to buy another good guitar, I chose a Strat simply because of the diversity of the instrument. The vibrato, those phasey in-between options (which, of course were never there in the beginning, it was a three-way switch but people realised that you could slide 'em in between. Sometimes they used matches to keep them in place). And you're right, nothing says the 1980s like a Strat on 1 & 2 through a chorus, compressor and delay. But you covered all the colours and flavours of both guitars in this video. Another ripper!
ever since rick beato said a les paul is a gibson version of a tele and a SG is a gibson version of a strat it blew my mind even tho its so obvious i never looked at them like that and its so true
The trick is to have all 4, i really like double cuts, so i got 2 strats and 4 SG’s but the tele and les paul are fun too. I have a lone prs as well, perfect in between
Freddie King & Robin Trower played that middle p/u quite a bit. SRV did as well here & there, Pride and Joy (starts with the middle pickup, then switches to the neck). Also the solo of Sweet Home Alabama which you began playing is probably the middle p/u. Anyways great video, lots of good stuff in there.
My first guitar is an 🇺🇸 strat and still got it. I just got a 2018 butterscotch Fender player telecaster and it's awesome guitar 🎸‼️. I still love my strat but the telecaster is definitely different from the stratocaster.
butterscotch teles are always the nicest looking teles to me, im not a tele guy but if i was to get one it would be that one cause of Keith Richards!!!
G'day Jason,

Another great video. Cheers Jason. I prefer the wide sound variations of the Tele at the moment...but it depends on the mood!

I just installed a tusq nut on both guitars and it enhanced the tone and sound big time ‼️

Great video
Why do I prefer the Tele, by a lot!
Telecaster for Frank Sinatra, Waylon Jennings and Rage against the Machine! Who knew?
The difference is, I have three of one and......uh......five of the other. 🙊
ones a tele ones a strat?, ones a double cut ones a single?, ones a SSS, ones a S,S?
👍😊
I think it would greatly benefit your channel if you put yourself on the thumbnails so people know who they're watching.
@ntomatas1 noted, in the past, I have thought the opposite. I might give it a try.
