Oh how I love this song. The lyrics are a shortened version of a poem by Akaki Shanidze, which he intended to be the anthem of Georgia. He wrote it during WW1, in 1917, the name the poem is "ქართული ეროვნული ჰიმნი"
In my opinion this would make a good anthem of Georgia, it’s lyrics reflect on the Georgian spirit and the history of the nation much more than the current “tavisupleba”.
