I have wanted to read Kathy's book.Elvis confided in her his thoughts and desires and feelings. What did he tell her about who his greatest love was?his feelings about divorcing Priscilla? The reasons he gave for Parker receiving 50 percent of his earnings?the book Red West wrote?if he had cancer?why he took meds?the medical. Issues he had? I believe Kathy is very credible. My fav of these books is June's, the greatest love story I ever read.

I will answer one topic at a time. Elvis told Kathy in early 70s he had a “cancer-like” condition. (She, Charlie & Larry held that info in strict confidence. He had pernicious anemia, glaucoma, cluster migraines, chronic insomnia and suffered 3 other mild heart attacks. He said often to her (because his mom died early and his uncle) that “I don’t have much time left.” Some of the health episodes were either exaggerated or downplayed depending on who wrote about it and what publisher had it out for Elvis (me paraphrasing Kathy)

Page 55 “Elvis was on the phone…he was talking to Priscilla and he sounded angry,.,When he hung up …he proclaimed: ‘Marriage is an outdated institution. It just doesn’t work for most people and ought to be abolished.” This is not saying he didn’t love his wife, just that his profession was not conducive to that lifestyle. On the one hand he believed marriage was for life and you bear thick & thin. On the other hand, his life was restrictive due to his fame, that who he spent time with was one area he could express being free.

I’m sorry I didn’t answer sooner. It is interesting because she didn’t mention it in the book if Elvis made that info known to Billy. Being that Elvis was so close to Billy, Billy would have known. On the other hand it has been rumored that Elvis Planted that story to see who the gossip was, although Ed Parker also knew. Or Billy did know and swore to secrecy & never broke that trust ever. Billy didn’t like when Elvis told a story about Billy so I can’t see Billy doing the same to Elvis, due to the pledge.

Hi Jo 🤗 I just love the girlfriend -books,they are my favorites! I don't have the Dixie book not Kathy 's book (hard to find is an understatement,it's almost impossible 🥴). I think Linda's book is my favorite, alongside Priscilla's, although she was not technically his girlfriend but his wife so I don't know if it counts for this series. And of course Lucy deBarbin's Are You Lonesome Tonight. It's much discussed if she really was his girlfriend or if it's made up. But even if it's pure fantasy,I just love her story and as she never says a bad word about our guy I appreciate her writing either her story or a fanfiction. 😁 Great job on the video! ❤️

Hi Ann, I’m so glad you enjoyed this collection. There are a few women who I did not include here. I would put that in my “mystery” collection. And yes Priscilla’s book will be another video. I adore Dixie’s book. She has told a few of her stories in interviews. The Spaguy has 2 that I know. And recently “Two girls talk aboutElvis” channel go over her book. The letters are adorable but basically, when she was in class she would write him letters instead of do her school work. She would write about being “Mrs. E.A. Presley” so you could imagine the conversations they had. The fact that these letters were kept, is just too adorable. Also, I would check for interviews. Maybe the Elvis Australia site.

Hi Jojo I have just discovered your channel and I am so excited! I have about 60 books about Elvis but I know there are hundreds and I scour the internet looking for more. Some RUclips channels post great reviews and flipthrus; I wouldn't have heard of any of their books if I hadn't seen their channels.
So I am looking forward to reading all the posfs in your channel to learn about more Elvis books😊😊😊I have subscribed❤

I’m so glad you enjoyed the Elvis Book video and thank you for your comment. This video is the third in the series. I’m thinking of doing my “Fringe” book collection. These are books by and of other artists but have great Elvis stories that are quite credible. I picked up a lot of information from these books and they fill in, or support many Elvis stories. But it may take me a while to get that one started.

I doubt there are 60 books out there about him.
If you do have so many do you have any by some lady named Trina?
I'm really interested in the one about him in the military that she wrote, but I feel she's not very reputable, and I don't want her to profit off our beloved Elvis.
If you've read the military book, do you feel that it's reliable and truthful?
Just curious if you have all (3) books she wrote about him?
      I think there were (3)
I would like to read Dixie's book.

@@resa.walters The army books I have are “Sergeant Presley” by Rex & Elizabeth Mansfield. Elizabeth was Elvis’s secretary in Germany & Rex his friend. And Soldier by by Ira Jones and Bill E. Burke. Bill was a memphis news reporter & wrote many books on Elvis. He was photographed with Elvis on the train from NJ to Memphis when Elvis got out of the army. While I don’t know Trina’s book, it maybe very well researched just like many biographies. My book collection focuses on books written by people who knew Elvis, but those are becoming rare. I would go into the newer books maybe down the road sometime.

Do you mean there's another of Kathy's books coming out?
I read Kathy's book, but I really don't recall too much of it.
I don't think she went into extreme detail though.
I find most all books about him very vague, and that's sad.
We need to know these things.
Anything at all about him is so important to me.
Did Anita really have a contract with Sun records?
Or did she just record that song for Elvis?
    "I'll wait forever for you."
If she did have a contract that's interesting.
Thanks for covering so many of these books!

Numerous Elvis fans have reported that Kathy was working on another book. However, Kathy has not been as active on Facebook as in the past, to report a status.
In some instances Kathy goes into details and others are generalized. I think it was difficult on describing her relationship because they went from a a working relationship, to a love affair to being good friends and back to a working relationship, which is never an easy thing to maneuver. But they were 2 adults living their life. The thing I found interesting is she too dated Jerry Schilling and I just can’t figure the timeline yet. Just that they dated.
According to the newspaper article from 1961 (not 1960 as I may have said in the video) Anita signed a contract with Sun Records a few weeks prior to the news article.Sam Philips said “She’s a fantastic talent,” “We’ve been trying to sign her for a long time.”
I can only report on what I find in research the only way to confirm 100%,is if I had the contract to view.

I don't believe Joyce Bova's story. She was GU [geographically undesirable]. Why would Elvis spend time trying to get with Bova when he had the "pick of the litter" practically in his backyard?

    • @jmf2471

There are many pictures of her and Elvis together. As well as Jerry & Joyce and Sonny and Joyce. Many of her stories line up with those of the MM. it appears Elvis was dating Barbara, Joyce and Kathy at the same time. I imagined it like the movie “Boeing, Boeing” of the 1960s 🤷🏻‍♀️

@@jmf2471 A timeline of events that, according to Joyce, took place during their relationship from August 19, 1969 through February 1972 equaled approximately 910 days. Based on the book, the time that they were actually physically together, seems minuscule (approximately 35 days) in comparison to other love interests.

I was wondering if in Kathy's book she ever talked about Linda? I would be interested in reading Kathy's book but it is difficult to find. Linda's life and her family sound interesting. I wonder if Anita Wood ever wrote her own book?

Thank you for commenting. From what I recall there was a time where Kathy would be at Graceland when Linda was there. If i recall correctly, there is a photo of Elvis, Linda, Billy and a few others, walking in the parking lot of a Cadillac Dealership. Elvis bought around 17 cars. One of those cars were gifted to Kathy so they were friendly to each other. Maybe not best friends but they got along. Anita did not personally write her own book but she was integral in writing it with her daughter. There is an interview on youtube ruclips.net/video/kMOXOxIIgHA/видео.htmlsi=r5vDU2N9H836Heo3 with Anita's daughter about writing the book.
I will re-visit Kahy's book and get back to you on any specifics regarding Linda. TCE
