- As we approach the release of Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite on September 19, we’re all suited up to provide you with tutorial videos for all 30 of our characters at launch. We hope these videos aid in assembling your team and choice of Infinity Stone when it’s time for the battle to begin.
In his highly-awaited debut, X beams in with a plethora of projectiles that can bounce off walls, cause a high amount of hit stun, and win against most other projectiles.

My fav. Capcom character. Tbh, even though I find this game underwhelming, I still get a kick seeing X, Zero, Dante, and Jedah in action.

From what I've seen, X has pretty good health and hits pretty hard, which I guess makes up for his lack of weapons. Plus the cancelling into other special weapons is handy. Can't wait to see what people like Max come up with for X. Also, really hoping he's top tier.
Edit: I just noticed that when X dashes, they included the blue after image like in the PlayStation games. Nice reference.
I haven't played this game, but if you're correct about him having less weapons while making him a decent fighter anyway then that's brilliant designing on the dev team's part as that fits X perfectly.
X's theme is from the first MMX game. And hearing it again after so many years later has made me nostalgic. Like I've been transported back to 1994 again.
I would rather have Mark Gatha voicing X ,but since he is retired, now its impossible...

While I don't think it's shit, I still don't like it. For so many many years, I've felt Mark and Lucas fit these characters to a T and hearing their different voices is just.........extremely jarring for me now.
Finally getting some Mega Man in our lives. Although I gotta say, I kinda liked the MvC3 intro videos more.

I just wish X had as many special weapons as Zero and that the Ultimate Armor was a level 3 armor that let you use the Nova strike so combos would go off the walls with it.

Zero gets techniques which is much easier to put in a fighting game in comparison to X's weapons.
Leedo925 It's easy, cancelling boomerang cutter with let's say HP can lead into a different weapon like shotgun ice from X1, while still being able to cancel into his other moves. (Shotgun ice isn't a good example but it's the first thing I thought of) Not trying to sound cynical here.

Spin Wheel. Fire wave. Triad Thunder, Strike chain. Shotgun ice.
Double Cyclone. Ground hunter. Tornado fang. Gravity well. Aiming laser. Soul body.
Also he shouldn't be using the double charge shot since it's the X1 armor. Should've been the Spiral Crush shot.

It is possible and i agree.
Its just that i think incorporating these into a game like MvCi is much harder to do in comparison to say, incorporating Megaman's special weapons in his Smash Bros moveset since these weapons feel like they would fit a game like that better in my opinion
Leedo925 If you've seen Project X Zone 1 and 2 with how they handled X's combos, you'd see that they could totally do some more crazy shit than what they got here. Granted, those were pretty much single button cinematics, they still had good concepts that could implemented without much trouble in a game like this.

I love how the First Armour can fire a Double Charge shot just like the 2nd armour in Mega Man X2
I think they missed out on a great opportunity for X because they could have implemented being able to change into different armors with different elemental projectile attacks like ice or fire & tornado like in megaman x. Also sliding should be a thing and not sure if the double air dashing is in for megaman x, but it needs to be smooth and similar to how he did it in the megaman x series

I preordered the Collector's edition just for X! I've been waiting 20 years for X and Zero together in an MvC, so I am hype as hell right now! Command Mission was one of my fave X games too, so I *really* can't wait for tuesday!!!

I think X's attacks aren't very attractive, he has A LOT of weapons and cool abilities, but he uses very few of them in this game, he needs more than just punching. He's very cool tho.

I was going to comment about the name being used for the First Armor, but the I realized why it's called Armor of Light (I would've preferred Light Armor though).

The things i don't like megaman X:
- Charging his buster shot while in the air will stop when they land on ground
- Has no air special moves except buster shot
- His melee attack is too short
- Hawkeye, Dormammu, Arthur can spam more, faster and better zoning than X. Heck, even Zero is easier compare to X
- Armor of light need to be more longer duration and more upgrade since his health is already weak
- *NEED MORE SPECIAL MOVES/WEAPONS.* Only 2~3 special weapon is fucking bullshit
Overall, he's still a good character BUT other characters can do waaaay better than him. Capcom should buff him in next patch
I'm not a big fan of fighting games (Dead or Alive is my go to) but I'm a huge Megaman X fan and I can't stand not being able to charge the buster and be mobile at the same time (Super Smash Bros is also guilty of this), especially since Zero can! Imagine any Megaman game where you have to hold perfectly still while charging a shot and having to fire the shot as soon as it finishes charging. Trash. Also for X to only use his armors briefly makes no sense as well. Combine that with the 2-3 special weapons that don't even have any variety to them and I feel like they really dropped the ball. Capcom has been disrespecting Megaman for a while now.

Zero and Sigma look pretty good, but X seems to be lackluster in terms of representation. He only has 2-3 Maverick abilities? As opposed to something like Smash Ultimate where Mega Man has so many Robot Master abilities represented. :/

If I were a Megaman X fanboy I'd be shitting fury all over how bad this looks. You only gave him two special weapons, an armor upgrade that does basically nothing, limited movement options, and you won't even let him move around while charging his buster? After decades of waiting he finally shows up in a Marvel game and this half-assed lazy design is the best you can give him? This is an insult.
There's no reason at all why X shouldn't have as many if not more moves as Dante, the ability to upgrade them and charge them with armor, and several different types of armor he can upgrade into.
Other than you being wrong on 2 weapons, cuz its 4 I whole heartedly agree.
X Needs: (1) Mobile charge. (2) Chargable special weapons during Armor. (3) At least 8 special weapons with 3 preferably in the air. (4) Movement options like Zero's fast dashes (5) A Level 3 that is a dash connect like his Nova Strike in his games.
And @ShitpostingAtheist he has the worst mobility in the game after the full bottom tier like Ryu, no ways to get out of corner, wonky angles on his projectiles, bad projectile durability.

MvC aside, crazy thing is, realistically, ultimate armor X may be the strongest guy in the game. The Nova attack makes him invincible, hence nobody could damage him. Nobody on Marvel nor Capcom side could touch him while is in this nova dash form.
Basically, I am saying Ultimate armor X could very well beat any character in the game in a comic battle, unless Thanos has the infinity gauntlet and uses time. Ultron could not hack him while in nova form.
I need to put more time into this game...

I don't know how I fell about his theme. It feels empty to compared other edition of the highway from X1. Maverick Hunter X had a great remix and a lot of the anniversary also had better. For what the series represents with it's style, techno isn't the way to go. The series is called "Rockman X" in Japan and the series has always held to that style in the majority of the games. I think there should be more guitars and a kick as slap bass mix with synthetic instruments. This is all subjective, but doesn't sound like what the series represents to me. However, Zero's theme still sounds pretty good from what I heard.

lowkey just slightly bothered by all of his weapons having the same blue light energy look to them. Like boomerang cutter was a metal object not energy except for the charged version which was green. And twin slasher was purple.... I know it's nit-picky of a critique though, but like I said, only "slightly" bothered.
