Take natural vitamins (food matrix etc) in NATURAL amounts, has worked for many thousands of years, and is the number one recommended way...REMEMBER BASICS, and connect the dots, case histories of all those 3 I just mentioned PROVE what caused their demise...now how come big pharma didn't tell you about this? Totally right about the adrenals, it is an epidemic (: people likely need extra vitamin B5 too

I just thought I'd offer this, that is what happened to me today. 2 days ago I felt a cold coming on. The back of my throat got a bit tender, that's how I know when I'm getting a cold. I bought a bottle of vitamin C 500mg tablets, and started taking 2 tablets 3 to 4 times Thursday, Friday and as well as today. I'm going to a kidney specialist come the 21st of December. I'v seen a lot of foam in my urine but today 3 times I'v urinated and the result was. 1st time no foam 2nd time some bubbles but quickly dissipated 3rd time also some bubbles and quickly dissipated again. This had not been the case for the last couple of months that I've noticed the foam in my urine. I found it interesting so I went looking on RUclips about vitamin C. I came across this video and figured I'd share what im experiencing. I plan on telling the kidney specialist when I see him. Hope you find this interesting.
PS. Just went again still the same but 1 important thing I forgot to include my urine was a dark yellow but now it just has a yellow tint to it. It's a huge difference in just a short period of time. I'm talking 24 to 48 hrs. Anyway had to add this as well.

Certain vitamin supplements, as well as certain medications and foods can cause you to have brighter yellow urine..
And sometimes being dehydrated can cause this to happen as well. But, to be on the safe side I'm glad you are seeing a specialist... Hope you are doing well!

also linus pauling, wife, and their GP doctor all died from megadosing synthetic big pharma (so called) vitamin C...all from cancer within a few years of each other. These of coarse were the first proponents of this concept...and became the first three case histories of what taking such a product in such enormous amounts WILL do to the body. In the short term it kills a few virals due to the oxidation reaction with iron that releases free radicals, yet of coarse this will lead to massive cancer formations down the road...very poor way to do medicine OR science, yet we all know how many fans of such a dastardly big business big pharma idea such has today!

It would have been helpful if there was a summary with bullet points of the findings that can be translated to normal population, and how people can use the information that you provided. e.g. when taking vitamin C orally it's better to take it twice or few times a day, than just once a day higher doze because....the plazma and vitamin C will stay higher.

NAc produces Gluthatione, so supplementing Gluthatione is not as useful (you can't absorb it as supplement that well) its better to take NAc and produce it in your own liver. Also check NAC with Glycine, the potency is even better. Nac is new to me, and already seeing a HUGE YUGEEE difference. It's so good and underated. I read maaaany studies before taking it. Powder/pill/liquid/chelates form? The other area would be the SNPs in our DNA analysis that are specific to Vit C absorption. You did mention briefly but not really in depth. The fact that half the sailors didnt get scurvey under the same conditions suggests DNA link is significant. Thanks again Dr. P!

there's so much to learn still... There are people that have been in carnivore diet (just red meat) for decades and they never developed scurvy. Seems there's a link on the need for vitamin C and carbohydrates as energy source. Check Charlene Anderson, she's been on red meat for 23 years (for her lyme's disease) and hasn't developed scurvy nor any other ailment. You'll see she looks younger than when se was 25!! we know nothing yet. Check the Peterson's family, they are now doing the same for their auto immune issues, and they've never been healthier. In those rare cases, I'd love if there were more studies.

On top of that I make sure to get in as much fruit as possible. Our vitamin C needs are actually a lot higher than they recommend and we’re meant to be getting it from our food not a supplement. When you get enough it significantly increases health and youthfulness. I haven’t had any issues with my teeth I just don’t brush them for at least an hour after drinking it.

I'm interested to hear about prolonged-release Vitamin C and how it compares to liposomal and multiple doses. Ideally it should have the same effect of multiple daily doses but have there been any studies or comparisons with the prolonged-release form? Ciao from Italy! L

I understand that in the 1930s their was a Dr who treated about 60 polio patients with 50 grams of vitamin C intravenously some were ok after 3 days others were ok after 5 days, the last one took 2 weeks.

I wish more people would watch this/follow up with more research. I got this via email subscription from RUclips, and Rhoda's site (Found My Fitness). I've been telling people for years that they're taking too much C! While there's no evidence (as Rhonda notes) that these doses will harm you, it's wasteful, and could possibly lead to the body excreting more C).
Supplements work! If: you're deficient, have a need for more of a nutrient (potassium for me),and use them properly. That means taking most supps in divided doses, not taking nutrients that interfere with another's absorption simultaneously, taking fat soluble vitamins with a fat containing meal or an emulsifier like lecithin, and not exceeding levels that can be absorbed. Many people do this with calcium! More than a gram at a time is a waste. And taking supplements with at least 8 ounces of water.
Thanks, Rhonda. You rock! I share your passion (but not resources) in self experimentation, supplements, nutrition, exercise (very intense weight lifting for me- especially due to a TBI), and gut health. I share your work with all of my friends that share these interests.
If you ever need "Guinea pigs", I'd be happy to participate in research. I would share my contact information privately.

it's amazing how many times i have to address this. Linus killed himself and both his doctor and wife with his advice. THEY all three died of cancer from cramming as much artificial/synthetic vitamin C into their mouths as they could until it started coming out there feces. They expected this strange idea would bring them natural miracle like health...each of them looked very ill while they were passing using this concept...now thousands, maybe even millions follow their concepts....Linus even sped his damage up with urine therapy. Oh they sell MOST of the artificial vitamin C...well of coarse.

Dr. Rhonda Patrick are you a proponent of garlic and if so I would love to listen to a video like this one all about garlic. I have an immune deficiency and autoimmune disease and am trying to boost my immune system. I am starting to add it into my diet any way I can, even to my smoothies. Hopeful that it is doing something! I am interested in how it may be beneficial to our health. Thank you for your helpful and interesting videos!

instead of putting ENORMOUS amounts of electricity through his brain & body (like linus did the same dastardly with chemicals such as fake vitamin C from big pharma) IF HE HAD of taken that natural garlic as one of his medicines, he would of looked & felt better, and surely would of prolonged his life instead of shortening it like he did. Linus died of cancer, taking both his wife and their GP doctor with him from cancer as well ON HIS ADVICE.

here is linus shortly before he dies...still claiming he is correct (and HE IS accurate IN THIS VIDEO - just the correlations both he and others draw from that accuracy are completely backwards) and yet looking and sounding so horrible you can tell the free radical damage caused by the oxidation reactions to the synthetic reagents he takes (synth C combing with macro iron in the body) have taken a massive toll on his brain, etc. Sad..could of been such a benefit to the world if he did other than shill for big business/big pharma.

Great presentation. I take 90-140 grams of vitamin C a day as part of my protocol for my Stage 4, metastatic colorectal cancer. I've been doing so for two months and only reach bowel tolerance when my carb consumption is high. With low carbohydrate intake, I'm pretty sure I could tolerate up to 200 grams. Curious to see how/if this benefits me long term. Thought it worth sharing as I was very doubtful of one's ability to tolerate such high levels.
