The animals get a steady supply of food and protection from predators, humans benefit from the services rendered by the animals. These lions thought that hunting donkeys is like them thinking that they are hunting zebras in the wild because of their natural preys size and behaviour. And zebras are 90% related to donkeys by appearences and looks.
Its important to have these videos that bring more attention towards the blurring ecology between humans and wild animals and the methods to which conservationists try to educate and compromise with the people, especially given the rate of habitat loss across the globe.

Here's the solution: Don't leave your flocks unattended in the wild. Sounds like the film crews have paid for the donkey meat to show us this scene, otherwise the villagers would have taken arms and killed the lions.

Uhhhh no. Maybe sheep and chickens are “easy prey” but cattle, horses, and usually donkeys are very dangerous for most predators. IDK how these donkeys in particular were bred to be so docile, I’ve seen plenty of domesticated donkeys act as very dangerous farm guards.
Poor donkeys....the lions could’ve slaughtered all the herd at once, but thankfully they were confused on how to deal with such unusual easy meal...so, the rest of the herd got away ....but not for so long, knowing that the lion’s predatory instinct will keep them lingering around until exterminating the last donkey...

@@bboykiddblack Yeah, lions need to eat, but donkeys are domestic creatures in our care, OOF asked why they aren't in a fence. They're defenseless, and their owners know these lands are crawling with carnivores, so leaving them in the open in a dangerous habitat seems like animal abuse.

@@cintronproductions9430 some donkeys are wild.Here in Arizona up in Parker there are thousands of wild donkeys every where.They have no preditors here and you cant shoot them..they are over populated and just stand in the middle of the roads.I hate donkeys wish we had some lions to trim their number here
Because they dont expect lions too close to villages.Namibia has vast deserts.So no one expects lions which are not in a freat number there to be so close to there village.But the point you made is also correct

Yeah, wild animals killing wild animals is acceptable but if those lions targetted the villagers' livestock (also their livelihood) then i'd completely understand them shooting the lions.
