Just never repeat the mistake of WWII when a famous general thought he could lead lightly armored tanks against Hitler that were easily destroyed at long range (Sherman tanks). If not for the Russian rocket forces that war could have ended differently. The idea you can out manuever an opposing force just does not hold up when inclement weather shows up or faulty supply lines stranding units for a couple weeks. Panzer tanks could take direct hits and pick off inferior tanks at longer ranges. Without at least equal gun ranges Sherman tanks basically ended up in continual retreat?
