It'll be fun, but Arthurian legend is MASSIVE topic to talk about. :D They're so many versions of this tales, because Arthurian legend is not one coherent story.

I just want to say that the ending battle in Aladdin was just awesome. I mean it was almost Anime like if it wasn't for the goofy Jafar jokes lmao
Another note on Jungle Book: the characters of Baloo and Bagheera were flipped from the book to cartoon. In the books, Baloo was straight-edge, stuffy and irascible, and Bagheera was reckless, sensuous and a little snarky.
Mufasa: “Everything the light touches is our kindome.”
Simba: “What about that shadowy place?”
Mufasa: “That's the live action remake. You must never go there, son.”
Yes I tell people all the time if you just know these fairy tales by the Disney version when you read the original version you're going to be in for a rude awakening.

Wait that story makes no sense at all. If Pinocchio is still a puppet, not a real boy, and the cats hang him by the neck, he doesn't have a windpipe or a spine, so he should be laughing not dying. Did people back then just not think about that? 😅

In Sweden, changlings are not changed by fairies. It’s trolls instead. The trolls take a human baby and leaves their troll baby instead, so that the troll baby will live a good life with humans. That’s why I’m the old days, between the time of giving birth and the baptism/christening of the child, they always had a fire going (like the fire in the fireplace should never go out) because the fire would keep the trolls away. They used to call me a changling when I was a kid, and I always hated it.

Thank you for sharing the more f’d up stories that Disney “whitewashed” & turned into Rated G movies for families. When I was a middle school English teacher, I was able to expose my students to the original stories, and my students were both shocked & intrigued by them. I was very happy to be able to expose them to the older stories that they had never even heard of before that time, and it gave them a chance to think about the origins of the stories and what they mean.

The thing about folktales is that you can re-tell them and put whatever twist you want on them. Having said that, don't expect anybody to buy in to your twist. (okay, I'll admit, Tarzan and Pinocchio is not folktales)
