Because the Bar staff/owner didn't want to help you and wanted you off the premises, this is suspicious. I mean the least they should have done is call the Police. This makes you wonder is the thieve(s) friends with the people who work in or own the Bar?

Hi yes I’m the same we only put a small amount but I was getting notifications from my main bank as transfers was trying to happen. Crazy scary but I cancelled both banks.

Sorry about your bad experience. I’ve heard of people in this country carrying mobile card machines and trying to get signals from people by standing next to them! Luckily I’ve never had a problem in Benidorm but it does happen. Always have my card even though it’s on my phone. 🙈. Look forward to your next vlog

Use a revolut card which you can transfer money to so limit how much could be lost if stolen. No European charges either.
That’s the card that was taken and they was trying to move money across from my main account luckily it was stopped. It was the shock of notifications and confusion that got us first however we were lucky. They will try everything possible.
I just found your channel and I had to subscribe… Especially after hearing what happened to you.. I remember going a few years ago with my friend for three nights never again.. the first night my friend had his new iPhone robbed in a nightclub . And luckily I seen them just before they tried to take my bag.. .. we then spent the other 2 nights in the old town and loved it! And we felt much safer.. but I wouldn’t go back just not my type of place, too many people going around drunk on the street in the new part… . Great video by the way 🙏

Great video as always. I watch all your contents and thoroughly enjoy it. I’m English but I live in between two amazing cities of Rome and Naples and this sort of thing goes on all the time. We used to have a little apartment in torrevieja 1st 5 yrs was good then these Africans come over a started robbing everyone braking into apartments stealing boats motorman’s caravan the lot at knife point we sold it and got out at a good time 6 months later the prices of apartments dropped 30% everyone just wanted out

You should NAME the bar, to make people aware of it. You made this video to make people aware, but how can we be aware if you don't name the place? They wasn't very helpful to you both and asked you to leave. Did the waiter take the card, or did you lose it or get pickpocketed? Was it near the English strip? Just so I can be aware of the area. Hello thank you for your comment. It’s a difficult one because we want to name the venue however as we cannot prove it we may have come back on this if they were to ever see it. We do believe that the venue has something to do with it and that there were more than one person involved. We believe the staff knew what was happening and didn’t care. We cannot confirm it was just this venue as we believe it goes on in other venues in Benidorm and other places around the world. All we can say is that it wasn’t on the main strip and we think we may have been marked in another pub before entering this one which are fairly close together. We have since read that certain gangs who may hang around these venues target the British if they see them drinking. If you google this you will find more info on other scenarios that have happened in Benidorm and other places. Saying all that we have now moved on from this and when we return to Europe we will be more cautious and observant. 😊 happy travels 😊
There are many pubs operated by gangs who setup bars. Never leave or hand your card to anyone regardless.

Lived in Turkey. Tourists in bars, they photograph your card details and sell the details to local hairdressers who then pass on to Turkish barbers in the UK.
We never knew that, it's crazy what people would do to get hold of people's information these days. Thanks for sharing 😊
@@lifes4touring The barmen "pretend" to guess your English accent, of course you say where you are really from, Newcastle for example. They now have your name, card details and an approx. location in England. They also ask how long you are staying, that gives them a timeframe to work with.

My son is 35 he went skiing last month in Switzerland his first night they went out to a little pub .he woke up the next morning and they had took 4grand out his bank .he still had his card but they cloned his card .sadly its going on everywhere.

Great video, sorry for your bad experience. We’ve been using chase account abroad which is an app on your phone and a card. It has No charges using it abroad and I believe a Monza account is similar. Can set up on your phone in minutes. Used it on two tours in France with no issues all you do is transfer money whatever you want into that account. Hope you find this useful.
Hi and thank you for your comment we may look at changing our why of paying abroad now and look into them accounts you mention. Revolut and my main bank was very good how they handled it which gives us great reassurance. 😊

This happens everywhere abroad now, just have to be vigilant and not carry to much cash certainly no documents if you don’t need to use them.

I've been benidorm 9 times now and 3 times on my own.always use cash it bars and cafes.if I use my card its 4 cigs then back 2 put it away again.

Get a second card and put a low amont on the acount. I have blipp safe wallet too. Sorry for the spelling im from Sweden. Never trust your navigator it led us into many crazy situations.

As always. The Spanish Chinese super shops have all those adapters you’re after. They have everything, including the stuff you don’t even know you need! Like magic.

I have had the same thing happen to me, I found it embarrassing. Coming from a city I thought I was a bit street wise. But not. To the people who did it it’s a job, just don’t take it personal. Forget it it’s hard but learn from it and don’t let the thieving little vermin spoil your adventure.

We did think of naming and shaming however after logging with the police we thought it best not to without proof. We have heard since that there has been a rad by police on one of the venues. Apparently there is a video out of the rad not that we have seen it yet. Thank you for your support. 😊

Thanks for sharing what must be an awful experience. Personally I’ve used Apple Pay on my watch since 2015 never had a problem in fact I never have my wallet with me. In 2021 (C period) I never used cash at all. Great video glad to see you’re continuing with your vlogs.

Never use your own debit card abroad. Use a credit card. Never put your own money at risk of being scammed or fraudulently stolen.

It was all reported at the time and logged however nothing they would do unfortunately.
So sad that lowlife operate in this way this is why I seriously do not want a cashless society the banks corporate companies want it so to have control over everything we do.I prefer to stick to brand name shops particularly supermarkets.Enjoy your vlogs great stuff

We use a money card which we only put a small amount on we never use our bank card luckily you got away with it but that’s what we have done for years ours is a post office card other cards are available we have just come back from travelling round Spain
We use motorhome aires paid and unpaid as we find them better value for money than campsites that’s only our options enjoy
Hi, it's the best way to protect your money and we will be more careful in how we use cards in the future, pating by your phone wallet seems the safest doing some research however still using a card where we can load a small amount at a time just incase. As for site we do pretty much the same as you and it works for us. Happy travels 😊
Hi, sorry to hear about the card scam. Re the water valve pipe topic. When you find a solution I would be very interested to see it. One thought is when you have the levelling fitted, have the air suspension at the same time. I had both done on a auto sleeper. Fabulous addition to the van and it will give you a few more centimetres height when you need it at the push of a button. Well, two to be precise. Safe travels.

Hi guys .. also sorry about the card. There is a chain of DIY stores in that area very similar BnQ called Leroy Marlin. They definitely do a load of different size hoses and connectors which should hopefully sort out your water filling. Good luck.

Was the card skimmed at the bar, do you have a RFID wallet/holder.
Not the card was taken, i have got a RFID wallet though not that it helped on this occasion. Happy travels 😊

Because we wasn’t able to prove it and it was logged with the police. once things have settled we may mention it on a future vlog. 😊

I'm confused....why did you want bar staff to ring police ,was it them u thought were part of a scam? because you would normally contact your bank....for example if i was in a shop or anywhere else i wouldnt ask them to ring police ,they would just say get InTouch with bank ,unless im missing something....any way enjoying the vlogs
Thank you for your comment. We knew the bar had some involvement for sure and we were testing them to find out how they would react if we asked them to call the police. They looked very nervous because they didn’t expect us to notice anything unusual until we had long gone from the premises. We think we were marked in one pub and followed to the next one. We cannot prove this so we cannot name and shame on this public platform as we do not want any come back from them if they were to ever see this video. We just wanted to warn people as we thought we were careful how we looked after our belongings when out. These people are clever and professionals and do not work alone. They prey on British tourists especially. We did contact the bank at the same time and we did call the police. The police couldn’t do anything and the bar staff wanted us off their premises quickly in case the police did come. All is good now though and we have learned from this and moved on. Happy Travels 😊

I really do think you should say what bar it is so people can stay away and so it stops it happening 2 some1 else because they might not be as lucky as you and could end up up with all their money gone ,i know u say you cant prove it but its not like your accusing the bar itself its just that it happend in there so i dont get why you cant name it ,im goin back there in 3 wks and dont want my money gone lol ,i think ill tuck it away in my bra or pants 😂,thanks 4 the warning tho xx
We would love to say where it is however we do think the bar was involved in some way and because we cannot prove this they may see the video and try claim defamation. Most people will be fine as long as they are aware that this goes on there. Please enjoy yourself just be careful and make sure your belongings are safe. Take cash if you can and or have your card on your phone wallet. They took the card and immediately logged on and tried taking money from the associated bank so if you don’t use a physical card you should be fine. That’s our opinion and what we will be doing from now on. It hasn’t put us off Benidorm we will just be more careful if we visit again or anywhere from now on. Have a great time 😊👍

Only use cash ....Lots of bars do not take cards .... REMEMBER YOU ARE ON HOLIDAY ....THE THEIVES ARE NOT . ( the theives go to where the tourists are )

Was the card taken from a bag?
No from my wallet in my right pocket, the card was taken then wallet was placed back. This is how good they are which has opened our eyes.

That cld hve been taken anywhere along the way -mad -now i understand why you were so rattled. Luv the area but more scared than ever going there now but glad for the heads up!
