4/30/2024.......Hoosier Character: Mapping 19th Century Indiana by Christine Friesel of the MCPL

Christine Friesel, Librarian with the MCPL gives a program titled "Hoosier Character: Mapping 19th Century Indiana". She reveals a collaborative map project. Monroe County Public Library is working with the Monroe County History Center and Monroe County GIS to illuminate and identify where people worked and lived. Built for the 2026 celebration of America 250 and endorsed by the Society of Indiana Pioneers, the digital map will identify where our earliest residents settled, farmed, ran the Underground Railroad, or sued one another with both neighborly and entrepreneurial spirit.
