I love watching shreks swamp talk, it’s so nostalgic to me, I miss when it was called dreamworks kids, now it’s called Peacock kids, and man it’s just not the same…😔
I only ever saw the Swamp Talk video and I always loved it for just bizarre it was for an official DreamWorks video. But I genuinely had no idea there was a bigger marketing campaign surrounding it, this whole thing is beautifully insane.
We didn't deserve Swamp Talk. In today's age of extreme brand protection and "canon" I don't think we would EVER see a show like that again. Shrek and Donkey went wild on some of those episodes.
this is genuinely batshit insane, I cannot think of a single other animated family franchise that would market itself like this. shrek really is something else huh I'm all here for it though
Great retrospective I would have never have known about it! Even if I found a few tweets I wouldn't have looked into that much, must have been a nightmare getting all of this in order lol.
Oh you have no idea 🤣I just kept asking myself "Why did they put so much effort into this??" Truthfully I could've filled another hour if I wanted too...
10:27 ....Why would Shrek be "Pro-Immigration"? I thought Shrek's whole stick from the first film was he wanted these Fairly Tale creatures out of HIS swamp and send them back to their homelands. Simply saying they're "deporting" fairly tale creatures to Shrek's swamp, doesn't make any sense. That's like saying "we're deporting native Mexicans to America"..... in other words, "Immigration". These fairly tale creatures aren't native to Shrek's swamp. I assume they did this because they didn't want Shrek to have any controversial stances to ruin his non-political family friendly image.
@@RamsTheNameCom Lmao you’re right…the entire plot of the first film was about Shrek trying to build a wall…Shrek would likely be a staunch border hawk. Come to think of it some of the messaging was very contradictory…for instance Charming was really sold as the “trump” candidate with the commercial and tweets being about his blonde hair and wealth. Yet later in the “storyline” Charming adopts a more progressive platform and there’s a whole subplot I didn’t even mention in the video where Charming’s damaging emails get leaked in a direct parody of the Hilary campaign. So Charming was a parody of Trump AND Hilary? (Does that make Pinocchio Bernie??) Yeah…it seems Dreamworks just aimed to make it as a muddy as possible to not alienate anybody. But it doesn’t really line up with any of the canon characterization.
@@austin_the_brimstone And that's ignoring the whole plot of Shrek the Third, where Shrek hated being king/politics and wanted to find someone else to rule, so that he could return to his swamp life. Shrek wouldn't even be interested in being President and if he did end up elected, he would only last a month before stepping down to make his Vice President (Donkey) the President. I don't think Pinocchio was Bernie, I think they ran out of steam and just made Pinocchio "every stereotypical president concern" into one. - A corrupt President that is controlled by a secret committee. - Lies - Changes his political views/stances whenever he sees fits. - Horrible controversies that get picked up in the news. -etc.
This is honestly some of the funniest things done with the shrek franchise, would have been cool if they did something like this again this year but the election had nothing of value from it.
I love these, because they're 'elections' done in the most undemocratic way possible; run by a big company, usually with a predesignated winner said company picked, in a rigged race. (Who will win? Evil-Lynn DeVile, or Goodguy Everyman? This just in! Evil-Lynn eats a kitten!) This was done earlier ,than most and wisely they didn't let actual people vote. This avoids the risk of the wrong person winning. In South Korea Chex wasn't quite that smart and in a move that must surely amuse ogres everywhere, green onion cereal won.
if prince charming loses again we gotta raid the castle
this feels like a fever dream what is going on

It used to have a lot more heart. I'm glad the older videos are still archived. Just buried under a lot of junk.
as a canadian i find it confusing when they chanhed to peacock kids as Peacock isn't streamable here.

this is so obscure lol

I'm all here for it though
shrek characters referencing white supremacy and the KKK was the last thing I expected from this, ngl
I'm honestly not surprised when Shrek 2 had a joke involving police brutality
