Yeah that's a very hot take because to this date the best guest in my opinion is Kratos in MK9 not only because he's there and his gameplay is super good but also because it incluids the place you fight against Zeus in GOW3 as his stage all with stage fatalities incluided
Slasher Jason may be basic as hell, but that's why it's my favorite variation. But Unstoppable comes in second for his resurrection move because doing that to a friend who isn't familiar with him is golden.
NetherRealm should just make a horror fighting game at this point, just so they can finally deliver on the promise of Ash Williams from Evil Dead that neve4 showed up in MK11 😂
In order for it to realistically be made, it would have to be an original IP Fighting Game of horror, akin to Dead by Daylight, then have horror guests as DLC. However, that would be awesome.

Since character intros in MK1 are only 2 lines of dialogue instead of 3 lines like in past games, Jason and other silent characters would fit in really well in MK1, especially since they don't speak anyways.
MKX really had a ton of damn amazing guest characters, Jason was so much fricking damn fun and was definitely one of my favorite characters to play, they made him so unique and was so fricking wild!
What i loved about MKX that wasnt done in MK11 were moves that affected the whole screen and gameplay(Jason snapping his neck messing up your buttons,reptile slowing down time)
It's pretty funny to compare Jason's movesets between MKX and MultiVersus, especially since you can see the same moves between the two. Like both have a command grab where stabs his opponent with his machete, a charging shoulder tackle, an install that gives him armor, and even the fog teleport. Personally, I think MultiVersus has the better moveset for Jason mostly for putting more references like the bed sandwich. Which game do you guys think has the better Jason moveset?
I kind of see the Multiversus moveset as a refinement of the MKX one, but with some limitations due to gameplay differences, of course. I think it's a "___ walked so that ____ could run" type of thing. Developers building upon the gameplay identity of Jason one after the other.
He does have a Fatality called Sleeping Bag Killer. Unfortunately he doesn't actually stuff his opponent into a sleeping bag and just slams them into the ground a couple of times.
I do like how they did that in Multiversus. Hypothetically if Jason returned in MK, I could see him borrowing that move from that game in turn, because it's such a flavorful thing for him to do, stuff someone in a sleeping bag for a grab, carry them for a couple seconds and smash them in a variety of ways.
The resurrection mechanism is so wild to me still. Terminator had it in 11 but it sucked ass. You become a walking robot skeleton and you don't have super armor or nothing, you just got one jab and one kick lol. Meanwhile Jason here can come back as long as you got meter, making him this guy ruthless as hell. Much love to the guy.

While I think NRS is a company that really struggles with making fluid animations, I think Jason's an exception where the stiffness works in his favor. Jason is a walking corpse. He doesn't know how to move like a human being, and the stiff movement of his body sells that.
i always felt that predator had the most smooth animations in mkx but alot of that i think is because of the physics on his dreads but nrs does really struggle with making their mocap look fluid outside of cinematics like supers and cutscenes which they do well with
Max how would you handle an overly aggressive Kenshi as Jason? My brother-in-law is WAY TOO aggressive with the red spirit possessed kenshi and he spams the faraway 3 slash with the spirit. If you were to play as unstoppable jason, how would you stop someone spamming long range kenshi?

Damn makes me want to go back and learn Jason now because I know this game has a massive player base still and I agree nothing has topped the guests in Mortal Kombat X and Jason’s probably still my favorite of the guests personally but, I do like the others too
Jason has changed my opinion about Multiversus for good and makes it memorable now unlike before...and I added it to my Steam Library for the first time.

Jason was a straight up playable final boss in MKX. Him being the only one to have a resurrection move and it sharing the animation with Shinnok.

Best you can find in 11 is that one Robocop custom move where he bounces bullets off the screen, haha. I have to imagine that doesn't really count.

Activate Damage buff, f44 into his ex command does about 40% or more i believe just for 4 hits lol
Regardless of tier, I'd always use Slasher just because imo it has the best animations and the best brutalities too.
