    Very nice varieties. My husband was just told he has diabetes and that he can have anything that ends with berry. Now to get him to eat all the berry bushes I planted for him ❤

      Fresh fruit is always delicious! Berries actually score very low on the glycemic index compared to other fruits. It is a great treat to have 😊🍓🍒🍓 -Cara

    My kids loved snacking on the hardy kiwi fruit when they were growing up. The plants should easily cover a good portion of the shipping container in a few years. Ours grew up 2 stories to our deck, then along the rail.
    The red currants make a fantastic chutney with some rosemary, as well as currant vanilla jelly.

    I'm loving your berry garden videos. They're SO inspirational. I love how you're just filling up spaces with berries. I'm amazed at how much landscaping and garden spaces you tend to. I do hope we can see a rose tour and veggie garden tour sometime! I'm hoping that by the looks of the trees, you filmed a lot in advance and are putting things out from a couple months ago? :) Thanks as always for sharing your beautiful life!

    Good Morning Cara! I love these new varieties you're adding! My sister in law bought a property in Wisconsin and didnt realize it had a ton of currant bushes! She made some jam last year and it was so lovely! Might be something i need to add as well. Ive never heard of 'jostaberry'! How fun!

    Hi Cara!!! I'm a 15 year old girl who just recently started gardening, and I started watching your channel. (Edit: I also subscribed, haha!!) I currently have a handful of berry bush/tree roots. The variety is blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, boysenberries, and figs. I was wondering if you had any tips or videos on your platform I could watch? It would be a big help!!!! Lots of love from Oklahoma ❤❤❤

      Hi, thank you so much for subscribing! ❤ It sounds like you have a great garden going already! I am wanting to add some fig trees to my garden soon as well. What type of figs do you have and do you recommend them? I have a lot of videos on my channel about gardening with several playlists as well. Here are a few of the "berry" specific ones. You can always search on our channel home page as well :) I try to answer questions in the comments the best I can as well! I hope that helps. -Cara

      @@bluebirdhomestead Thank you so much for responding!!! Yes, I've already got flowers, tomatoes, cucumbers, and eggplants growing. So far so good!! I believe the name of the figs are the Bourjasotte Grise. (I know, bit of a mouthful 😆) Yes, I do recommend them!!! One of my neighbors back in South Carolina had this type of fig tree in their yard. They gifted us some figs, and they were SO delicious!!! My dad loves figs also. Your family will love them!!
      Thank you so much for the video suggestions. I'll make sure to check them out later!!!! I appreciate your time 😊

    Hello! I have just found your channel and it’s so beautiful, I love that you celebrate the beauty of Gods creation. I am from South England and have just bought gooseberry, black currant and red currant bushes! I also have blueberry bushes and strawberry plants and hope to make a ‘hedgerow’ jam with the currants! I love a gooseberry yoghurt ice cream which was my main reason for buying the bush. Lots of our recipes here make the gooseberries into a syrup or serve with a custard as sweetness brings out their full flavour. I look forward to seeing how yours get on, I have space for 3 more bushes so will see what you recommend Xx

    • @bluebirdhomestead
      @bluebirdhomestead  2 месяца назад

      Gooseberry yoghurt ice cream sounds lovely! Do you have a recipe for it you could share? It will probably be a while until I can harvest enough gooseberries to make it, but I will tuck it away for when that time comes. A hedgerow of berries will be wonderful. I hope all of your new plants do well for you! -Cara
