I've wanted to be a singer my whole life....I just can't 😭😭😭
I know Black Lives Matter ✊🏾
The voice, the smile, the innocent look, she couple all the Disney princesses
It's a shame people buy into this Disney propaganda about the new Little Mermaid. They could have had an Underwater Wakanda, but instead they chose a Caucasian Atlantis, and put a black face on it. Disney paid $0 to the black community for one of their many mermaid themed books. There are black authors from all over the world who have researched tales of mermaids passed down from the shores of Africa and Jamaica, yet Disney didn't even look at one of those books, and ignored the voices of the black community. I say next Black History Month, ALL teachers should read a mermaid story, or any fairy tale, made by black authors. Let the black community fight back against this silencing of black stories! Unless everyone is okay with black people being seen and not heard. (I'm not)
ever since they casted halle ive been DESPERATELY WAITING to hear her sing part of your world, i knew she was gonna be a perfect ariel just for her voice, i cant wait for the movie
Great profile pic BTW! I loved Reese in cruel intentions!
It was leaked you just have to google it
Halle is literally the best choice for the role. Why? Her singing voice.
TRUE😍
There are way better singers than her
Totally agree with you after I heard her singing I understand the casting👏
@@aedt3 obviously not bc she beat them all out of the audition and jodi thought she fit the role best
@@aedt3 yes but not all singers can act, not all actors can sing. We can see from the previous flops like Beauty and the Beast and Alladdin that focused more on the actors and relied too much on autotune to make up for their lack of singing. In animations, all u needed was a voice actor to fit the vocals of their drawn character, which is why their live actions flopped because its hard to find an actor that looks the role but also sing the role as well. Halle happened to perfectly fit into the sing + act requirement that Disney required without sounding too modern for a Disney renaissance film like the little mermaid (u can see from the leak). Any other movie, I would be as offended as u, but for this movie, I could understand from Disney's perspective that the whole point of the little mermaid brand was the Music and the Vocals and no autotune would fix that even if every detail is accurate but their actress can't fit the singing. u can't just hire an actress to lipsync.
_ACCIDENTALLY_ saw the full number on social media and Halle brings so much of herself into Ariel w/o sounding like a Disneymania cover (iykyk)! What she does w/the final chorus is _INSANE._ 😭 That's all I can say. 🤐
where can i see it
It’s been taken down by Disney
@Lauren the trailer?
@@idaf3028 no the part of your world scene they showed the clip of that at d23 and someone posted it on twitter and posted the audio on here but it got taken down quick lol
@@Laurenlife I know. Its leaked on yt but I can't quite hear it.
I watched the full song at D23, as expected she ate that song up, chewed it up and left nothing for the haters. The graceful movements under the sea, the perfect mermaid hair movement, her fierce but gentle empowering emotions, the voice..... After the song ended, the audience gave a loud deafening applause and a standing ovation. Nobody can take away her God given talent and what was meant to be hers!!!! Its like they imprinted Ariel’s spirit onto her and no matter what other actresses bring they couldn’t out beat her even if Jesus came back to save the racists from their sins!!!
Amen!!!!
would've been a good comment but then you put Jesus into it 😬
I love the words you said I couldn't had said it better ❤️
Ooooh I’m so excited to hear this, I can’t WAIT to hear the full song in theatres!!!
You know Hollywood is a cesspool right? I don’t think anyone’s meant to play anything in Hollywood. That place is filled with people who hate Jesus, who use His name in vain as a euphemism for F. In fact, other countries just say F not JC. It’s because they hate Jesus that much. From casting couches to nepotism to MK Ultra. AND they are proud dark-arts self-absorbed megalomaniac pedos who God should deal with yesterday imho.
Got chills when I heard her voice on this!!! It’s literally beautiful. 😊
I do every time. I’ve heard it four or five times now and she still gets me.
I literally cried from the chills, and I don't ever cry
Same
its perfect
Someone leaked the whole song and it sound absolutely amazing!,!
Where’s the song?
Where
You’re not gonna find it cause Disney took the video down they released the clip at d23 and someone recorded the last 30 seconds and Disney took it down but it’s worth the wait cause in the clip people kept walking around trying to block the big screen so you can barely see anything anyway
It’s still on Facebook
where?
All I know is that i was working in my office and I heard my kids (Ages 7-12) applaud and start cheering. I came in the room to see what was going on and they were clapping at her coming up on the screen singing. Haters don't matter..it's the kids that count and those of us that appreciate TALENT.
You said is sister!!!!
Fun fact…..Halle was truly committed to this role so instead of filming in a green screen, and just making it look like the ocean…..she actually swam to the bottom (what we consider as the bottom) of the Atlantic Ocean and sang without any type of special equipment to help her. That’s how powerful her voice is. So the reasoning for why the water looks super dark and scary in this trailer, and it’s probably gonna look like that for the movie, is most likely because they probably filmed the whole thing in the actual ocean, and never did a green screen.
@@elm68 I think this is satire
I almost believed you 😅
@@LadyMabbly girl I almost fell for it too until I realized she said bottom of the Atlantic ocean😅
Girl…….
@@humblebeans5511ever heard of satire?
Halle’s voice is crystal clear and pitch perfect. I can’t wait to see the film!!!!
EVERYTIME I hear that last note I get chills 😭
Ariel is all about the voice & not her skin color. Halle has thee best voice for Ariel.
And Tiana is all about her cooking skills and not the skin of her color. Africa is so diverse, lot of Africans are not black at all…
Hopefully Disney will go colorblind on Tiana as well! We need more diversity!
@@annas4843 shut up go log off the internet
@@annas4843 touch grass sweet heart
@@annas4843 Tiana was based off of a REAL PERSON THAT WAS A BLACK WOMAN (look up Leah Chase). Ariel is not real. Ariel was not based on a real person. The princess and the frog story is a fairytale but Tiana is based off a REAL WOMAN. And that is the difference in all these stories that you people don't seem to get. Furthermore, the underlying context of Tiana being a Black women trying to own and run a business in 1920s New Orleans...Tried it. All of yall tried it.
@@fizzychizzy Aww but if you rtards had a second black character that's fictional to compare to oh wait disney didn't care enough about you to give you a new original story and character and just slapped a black girl on the cover and called it a day. You're all too gullible honestly.
I’m in tears😭‼️ Halle’s voice is so angelic 🥰🙏🏾‼️ SO PROUD OF HER ACCOMPLISHMENTS ‼️
Halle Bailey is such an amazing talent!!!!
Her voice is Everything!!!!
You should definitely listen to more of Halle’s music with her sister. They’re a duo called Chloe x Halle. Their music is the reason I’ve been so excited to see Halle as Ariel. She’s going to kill it and I hope Alan Menken and Lin-Manuel Miranda wrote more songs for her since they wrote some new ones for the film.
I didnt even realize Lin was involved. No doubt it will be a hit with him part of it!
@@missbabyblue93able I didn’t know that either! I love his stuff. I’m excited now!
I saw the leaked footage she doesn’t disappoint. 😊 it miraculously done. Bravo to Hallie Bailey.
There is no other singer that can bring that song like Halle. Perfectly beautiful. If you listen to anything she’s done your heart will fill with love and hunger. I can’t enough of this voice.🥰
All of the dislikes on the teaser trailer are so unnecessary and fueled by racism. Jodi gave her blessing and so did Sierra Boggess. Halle is going to be amazing.
Mine wasn't fueled by racism. I just wasn't feeling it. She might be great in the role, but the teaser wasn't doing it for me. The live-action remakes are super hit or miss
I just said that about the racism
@jimothy2003 then that's Disney fault. In my opinion if you don't like someone you should scroll down nd don't pay attention to it, but the racists who are mad over her are purposely disliking it simply because of the color of her skin.
@@idaf3028 I still disliked the trailer. The opening shot was great and the one of her singing looked good. Other than that, it didn't have the vibrance Disney's The Little Mermaid should have. And yeah, there are racists. I'm just saying that not all the dislikes were fueled by that
@@_the_rizzler It was all of 15 seconds of a teaser. They didnt give you enough to complain about lmao So yea its either fueled by racism or some other nonsense cause that opinion def isn’t fueled by anything of substance lol You can’t really form a real opinion till the actual trailer comes out and then watch the actual movie.
The movie don’t come out till May of next year. Who knows what its actually gonna look like cause they’re still making changes in the editing room and still filming.
Halle is a top tier vocalist and performer. I don’t even like the Little Mermaid’s story, but I will be seeing this in theaters simply because I know her vocals will be out of this world.
"That's all we get?!" That's how I felt! I need more! It was just perfect!
All I cared about with Ariel is that she had the iconic red hair and the beautiful singing voice. When I saw the announcement of the cast ages ago I immediately looked up Halle's singing voice and instantly fell in love. The trailer just confirms for me what I already knew: she will make an amazing Ariel
I have to say: This trailer made me understand why my classmates in 1989 wished they could be mermaids too and could live underwater with Ariel. One of the reasons why I didn’t like “The Little Mermaid” was that I didn’t see what the fuss was about.
But this? I get it. And now that I get it, I’d love to see the rest of this movie.
How you get it now after a minute video but didn't get it after a hour plus cartoon, I'll never know. But that is just me. Unless someone else stands up and agrees with my comment. But you can have your own opinions, right or wrong. LOL
My parents wouldn't let me see anything Disney. It was banned in our house. But I am a Chloe X Halle fan so I decided to watch The Animated Little Mermaid just last week. I know exactly how you feel. It was a cartoon, a kid's cartoon. I doubt I would have liked it as a kid. There was just nothing unique about it. But this... I knew Halle would blow and her emotion in that one little bit of song blew me away. It makes the story rich and easy to understand why she would give up her voice to live on land. I'd love to see the rest of this movie as well and I have no children to take with me. But I'm going.
@@nialcc little mermaid single handedly revived animated musicals and made them popular again and was the birth of the disney renaissance everything about it was unique
@@blancavelasquez9859 - I seriously doubt every thing you just stated but hey, you are welcome to your opinion.
The depth she adds at the end of that crescendo is why I was so excited about Halle being Ariel. She's gonna make this songs we already love more dynamic and just better really.
Goosebumps. She has such a beautiful voice, a true mermaid.
Yea the extended note they did on ‘be’ is interesting. I’m glad it seems they’re treading that line of keeping it close to the original songs but changing it up a bit. Halle seems great so far! Her voice is amazing, I’m so glad.
I agree with your assessment... different and modern enough to be refreshing, but not overdone.... respectful to original sound.
Great points here and I couldn't agree with you more
I hear her voice and I say: THAT'S ARIEL
I’m so excited. It’s one of my top three Disney movies, and she sounds and looks great!! I’m even so excited just for the full trailer lol
Ughh
Everytime I hear her sing, I get teary eyed. Her voice is so beautiful 🥹💙
Please react to her sing Can you fell the love tonight on Disney's anniversary.
She was amazing....
I didn’t watch this before commenting but her voice on the trailer was top tier and she has a beautiful spirit.
its really sad how people are hating on her.
It's because she's not white. They keep on saying it's not about the color of her skin. I don't care what race she is. Then they add I just which they klept her the same. 🤦🏽♀️
Its sad that many hate on Halle for her race. All I saw was talent. Beautiful singer and actress, I'll defintely watch this in theaters 💗
I hope this can start a series of you reacting to disney songs/ princess songs, especially the live versions. Would love to see it. 💙
Oh my god she is so beautiful her voice love u big subscriber
Yes, love that great balance of original stye of the is song and a little modern. It's just such a lovely version that feels authentic from her perspective of creating this role.
Not the shade towards Christina and Mariah. I love them because of that very reason 😭😭😭😭
Yeah... When She shade on mariah, i was like "Woooop!!! this girl better not to talk about the legend"
Part of the reason I was disappointed with Beauty and the Beast is because the voices didn't live up to the original. There was so much autotune that it took me out of the movie. Now I can understand why some have a possible issue with this new rendition but as long as the VOICE and look can live up to the original, I think it will be great. And judging by Halle's history and the clip, it appears that she'll do the part justice. I am worried about too many riffs and messing with the voice instead of keeping it simple and close to the original. But in the clip, it's just the right amount. I am HOPING this one is good.
Show me ONE CLIP where Halle is over riffing ANY song?????? You white people with your low key racism gets on my damn nerves!!!
@@SteveeLeePhillips I don't know where you get any sort of racism in my comment. People like you are ALWAYS looking for a fight. Take that fake woke bs somewhere else. Reverse racism at its finest! Not allowed to criticize anything without being harassed these days.
@@SteveeLeePhillips Are you okay? They never mentioned Halle over riffing any song, he said Halle will do justice to that meaning no over riffing compared to OTHERS. Calm yo tits
Her voice is glorious!!!
I loved the trailer because it didn't give up the whole story as most trailers do, it is like watching the movie, I liked the suicide squad's trailer more than the movie. I can't wait for this movie!!!!!
i can't freaking WAIT for this!! 1 Ariel is my favourite princess. 2 LIN MANUEL MIRANDA IS WORKING ON THE SONGS!!!! 3. its out on my BIRTHDAY!!!!
no joke. the ‘wish i could be’ .. god. so.. so so so beautiful.. so perfect. my god. i don’t habe the words to describe it. so hauntingly beautiful
I think it’s knowing shes as sweet in real life as she sounds that makes me cry every-time I hear this….🥹💞
The girl has a very beautiful face. Even if an asian girl came on with this very beautiful voice, I would not complain. Ariel is the sister with voice talent- why should we forget?
Omg I can't wait till the movie comes out. It's the most perfect bday present 😍🥺
Her voice is magical!! ❤❤❤
I love how in the trailer we started with a soft music then it kept building up.
The fact that you were concerned that she might overdo this song with riffs and runs shows that you have no idea who she is.
I've seen a couple comments all over social media saying that riff she did at the end was "trying to show off" or "trying to add rnb to it"(the latter of which is lowkey racist). But in my opinion it sounds more like a Siren sound; even more so than the original vocal performance(which I also love). I hope they delve deeper into the Siren sounds of this movie
Someone leaked the full version. It’s sound amazing! I actually stumbled on another vocal coach who reviewed it. This is how your channel is in my algorithm, so if you’re interested in the full version give it a listen. The creator name is Tristan Paredes. Thanks for your review!
I don’t know why, I understand that she held back, but I still would’ve preferred it without that little riff toward the end. She had already made some beautiful subtle changes before that part that I loved. If they’re making a soundtrack CD, she can make it very modern and add all the riffing and running that she wants.
I saw most of the song on Tiktok and I just wanna say that for her version the run isn’t out of place at all…just wait until you hear the whole thing trust me
Nah it fits.
Let’s judge it when we listen to the whole thing babe. Like a 4 sec clip
She's perfect. Who wants an exact copy?
I'm excited for the Little Mermaid. I have been waiting a long time.
I have the same phobia and had to put my hand over the screen when you put those pics up omg
This young lady is going to be on broadway, in what, I don’t know.
most likely, at some point. but she's already been nominated for 5 grammys at 22 years old, so i anticipate she'll get back to the studio first.
Well she's going to be in the movie adaptation of The Color Purple musical (comes out in December 2023).
That voice is incredible!
Enjoyed the review - thank you for your performance comments, and not clouding that with something else.
I can't wait, to see this movie. It will be amazing and Halle is beautiful. 🥰
Is it only me? She looks like the cartoon Little mermaid
PLEASE do the new trailer!!!🤩🤩🤩
I am one of those people who really likes her as Ariel. Her voice is just magical like Ariel.
People are hating because she’s already better than the “ original”
Not a fan of the Bailey sisters' music but Haile's voice is definitely a perfect fit for Ariel.
It’s going too be fantastic my favorite movie of all times# HALLE , beautiful black princess I love it 🥰❤❤❤❤
Ever since I found out that Lin-Manuel Miranda was writing 3-4 new songs for this movie, if been so excited and waiting for so long for a release date/trailer! I already know it’s going to be amazing and I can’t wait to hear what his latest project sounds like. He’s become a huge part of Disney quite recently (Encanto, Moana now The Little Mermaid) and I’m just so excited to see him help create more and more wonderful memories for everyone of all ages.
That’s the first bad news I’ve heard about this production. His songwriting and lyric skills are… forgettable. Everything he’s done for disney at least has been soooo blah. Nowhere near the standards of classic disney musicals. 😢
@@frosteternal no. You’re so wrong there. He puts everything into all of his songs. You can hear Lin in every song he’s done at Disney. You wouldn’t have Encanto without him. You wouldn’t have Moana without him. Every other Disney musical kinda just sounds the same. Apart from his.
Awww when you heard her first sing looks like you were gone cry 😩🥰
People need to stop letting nostalgia get in the way of enjoying things. This looks good, so does the girl.(I'm sorry, I don't know her name)
Yep, you're so right here. I feel like this happens so often with re making of films but especially when the go from film to musical stage.
@@AshleeEspinosa there was that initial surprise of Ariel being black, but as long as she can sing and can bring Ariel to life. As long as they do Ursala right, I don't care if they make Sebastian and Flounder like they did in Lion King. Long as they do my witch queen right.

Haha I love how you are both very excited and terrified at once.
I saw the leaked full version of POYW and I guess the only riff I heard is around "ready to staaaaaa... aaaaaaaand ready to know...." and "to explore that shore up abooove" and then this one.
Those weren’t riffs.
On “stand” she just went up to a high belt
And on “above” it was a three note ascending sustain
@@rickshawhaytham3279 I actually realized that it was the same thing with the orig, its just that she connected "stand" and "and" that's why it sounded like its elongated. And on the "above", I just learned that Sierra's version on broadway was sung the same way so it wasn't really a deviation to consider.
@@LAR-ri6lb yea I hear you. She went up to the high belt on “and” which was new, but not a riff. For me, it really accentuated power since she’s saying she ready to stand
@@rickshawhaytham3279 oh wow thanks for this info. And I love that! especially when it was followed by that scene where papers float around while she'll looking for the page of the book where there's a picture of a fire. And yeah this version of POYW is so strong. She sounds strong-willed and determined to be part of that world inatead of just day-dreaming about it.
@@LAR-ri6lb exactly! And I definitely still love the softer version, where she’s reminiscing in the original. I also love this strong willed and determined version. It’s a fresh take. I love her voice and listen to her and her sisters music so it's nothing against her personally. That classic song didn't need to be changed and include riffs at all
Her voice is amazing!! However it lost the Disney feel for me with the added riffs😶🌫️
Didn’t ask
The original wasn't changed, though. It's still there. I think she more so captured Ariel's desperation and lonliness in this

I got goosebumps when i first heard her voice in this
I can't tell if she's happy or scared watching this, and it's.... super funny.
Her voice feels early nineties pop feel to it…and being 40 years old, early nineties was my time.
Like you, I had a white-knuckle phobia of tornados (was in one while in an RV in Kansas and had one fly over me and touch down a mile away in Ohio). I managed to get desensitize myself by watching Twister several times. Maybe you should watch it once or twice without us to see if you can manage to get through it without freaking out. It really worked for me. The first time I saw it my date thought I was going to throw up or hyperventilate. So I get phobias. We're here for you.
I wanna hear this instrumental all day
I can’t wait to see this movie!
Where can I get her singing the whole song I would love to hear it also just from hearing that little part I know it's amazing and she's an amazing singer anyways
Wow, just wow! I'm even more excited to see the movie than I was before (if that's possible!).
For my whole life I have wished to have musical talent!
My gifts are vocal, just, not the musical sort.
I love the music from the animated film, and Ursula is my favorite Disney villain. Poor Unfortunate Souls better blow us outta the water!
I really hope too. Melissa said in an interview with Kelly Clarkson that she was scare to death to sing that song. I mean… I totally understand why she was scared, it’s the most difficult song of the entire movie. I saw that she could sing (she sings a song with Barbra Streisand), and I saw potential. :) Fingers crossed 🤞
Bruh I just want an original, an African American woman princes I would love in another disney move but not the little mermaid it’s like what made Disney popular I just want a original with what the character that it was supposed to be
I have the SAME FEAR OF WATER. The nightmares I've had lol. The trailer besides that was cool! Have you tried playing subnautica it's basically an underwater horror game to me even though it isn't.
No but it sounds like I wouldn’t since I’d be too scared haha
You hear that folks...Halle gets the "random vocal coach from RUclips"'s approval.
There’s the full song in RUclips, are u able to react or will RUclips penalize u cuz it’s not official?
🤔 idk 🤷♀️
TRUE LOVE HER VOICE...NOT TOO MUCH IN HERE BUT HER VOICE MAN SHE KILLED IT...
IF ANY OF YOU DON'T LIKE THE MOVIE...ITS BEST TO STAY HOME...WHY BOTHER GO SEE IT AND YOU ALL DON'T EVEN LIKE IT???...JUST SIT BACK AND RELAX WHILE EVERYONE ELSE IN THIS GENERATION OF NON RACIST WILL ENJOY THIS BEAUTIFUL MOVIE!!!
Crazy that the people who keep saying "I do not judge a person by the color of their skin but by their character" like they are program to, are the ones so triggered by this. I mean, haven't they heard Halle Bailey sing? She's perfect.
She's perfectly off pitch.
Not gonna lie part of my being against this was me thinking that they used a poc to be 'woke'... instead Halle blew my mind with her voice, she's incredible casting as little mermaid and hate towards her and white ariel cosplayers currently is sickening.
To add to the Woke bit. They didn’t pick her because she was black, if you are familiar with Halle, she’s most known for her voice more than anything, just like Ariel. She’s beautiful, her aura is Ariel. The last thing I would think about is color in comparison to Ariel.
You sound ignorant
Woke is just a word made up by racists.
Jodi was also part of it pick her. So you're saying she's wrong.
casting black people in films doesn't mean its woke
The analysis was perfection. Halle hit the intro it was flawless flutter was super nice voice control flawless. She's right balance critical to preserve Arial original sound she actually did not need rift but nevertheless rift was perfection not all over the place it was very controlled. Honestly I would have restricted rifts to soundtrack and not included any rifts in the movie
I can't watch it or hear it without crying.
