  • In this Video I Show you all the steps of how to replace your old water pump. The process is almost the same for the old Buick 3800 V6 and the newer ECOTEC motors as well. Any V6 Commodore from the VN to the VY will use the exact same water pump..

Well done mate very informative, also using 2 bolts to hold the gasket flush with the new pump when installing is a great idea , top quality video! 👍

From memory the instruction sheet for the water pump mentioned the spacer only being needed for S1 buicks i believe.
Working in spare parts I've opened many of these wp boxes and some dont come with the spacer at all

Having trouble with mine at the moment... will take the coolant but chug it straight out..
Had a cut up 2l coke bottle for purging air.. literlay goes from quarter of the bottle then chugs it then spits out like half a litre and just continues to do that..

Hey mate is it necessary to be using a rattle gun to do those bolts back up, do they need to tourqued to a certain level? or will I be sweet just using socket set? Cheers for the video heaps helpful!

    • @-RossTheBoss
      @-RossTheBoss  Год назад +1

There probably is a torque setting. But a socket should be fine. I don't have a torque wrench and I've never had any issues.

Hold the mode and up (or down) on the left hand side whilst car is In accessory before starting and then wait for beep. Then start

what is the brown stuff my vx has the same thing

    • @-RossTheBoss
      @-RossTheBoss  Год назад +3

Hi, the cause is usually the lower intake manifold (Valley Gaskit) slowly leaking oil into your coolant. This is fairly common on the V6 commodore motors
