In Europe the roads that farmers have are too tight to run duals. That's why tracks are bigger in those places. If you have the room to operate duals or even triples are the way to go. Tracks are expensive to deal with.
My tracks went to 8,500 hours before replacement. Tracks are the cheapest thing you can put on a tractor by far. They will save a minimum of 10% and probably more on fuel. Tires are for wheel packers anyway.
The reason the 9630 lost is because he had a new set of tires. In tractor pulling, you don't want good tires...you want them to be pretty much bald, if they have tread on them then they dig and that really slows you down.
LogicalProcessing look where they hooked on both tractors. 9630 to drawbar, 8850 over a foot higher to the 3 pt hitch. In tractor pulling 1 inch will make a huge difference.
Dude it doesnt even matter because the 8850 has duals and so it have better weight distribution and ground force the 9630 lost with brand new tires you should be fighting that the 9630 needs duals not the the 8850 has bald tires
Just goes to show that it’s not about horsepower it’s about torque and power to the ground. That 9630, even though it has 160 more horsepower just ain’t got the low end torque that the old 8850 has and then add to that, the 8850 has a lot more tire on the ground.
Junk 13.5 in the 9630. That v8 in the new chassis and you would never hear of head troubles like the 9630. That v8 with 2018 technology would be 200 more hp then the 13.5 and still go to 10k hours.
They were actually really good engines, used in other applications like forestry they served the owners very well and went many hours. The main trouble they had was that the engine was used as a frame in the 8850's and the stress on the block was to much causing warping and twisting and engine trouble/failure.
That are some serious horsepowers at work right there. Great vid!!!
8850s didn't have Cummins V8s, they had John Deere 955c.i. V8 engines. Kinze made a kit to replace the Deere V8 with a Cummins NTC855 inline 6 engine.
John
actually it was made by Scania
Jake S be nice to see some proof.
Jake S It was not built by Scandia, your thinking of the case 4994
thats right
Way to much air in the 9630 tires. Run 8 to 10 psi tops
9630 "laughs in cracked block and blown headgaskets"
Stunning John deere 👌👍
Ik wist niet dat die grote jongens hier in de buurt te vinden waren.... :-)

the best john deere 9630 the best v8 cummins 8850
that isnt a cummins in that 8850 its a deere engine
+Paoletto Bg It's not a Cummins V8, it's the John Deere 8955 V8. The only V8 they ever made.
Bummer...power hop will get you every time
I belive they both should of had duals
that's right

LogicalProcessing That's true in tractor pulling and pulling on roads
LogicalProcessing And the 8850 had big duals whereas the 9630 only had super singles

@@hcsgmail yes, I noticed 8850 had the quick attach up
power hop kills it
Brutal....moonsteer John Deere...
Den Motor auf 1200 PS trimmen dann noch eine teekaffee Maschine für Tea time und einen Fernseher dann könnte man direkt damit auf Arbeit fahren.
The 8850 tires are bald as shit
Yeah you guy buy 4 of those tires and see how much they cost
I know how much they cost, about 10,000 for the whole tractor, im not stupid but the 9630 has new tires so its not really fair, go fuck off
Dude it doesnt even matter because the 8850 has duals and so it have better weight distribution and ground force the 9630 lost with brand new tires you should be fighting that the 9630 needs duals not the the 8850 has bald tires
Matt Rohn , so bald tyres or not, the 8850 won ;-) .
+Matt Rohn cheap tires you buy

No V8 diesel is going to give you low end torque
9630 lost cause..... ITS THE BIGGEST DAMN TRACTOR THAT JOHN DEERE MAKES AND IT DUG DOWN CAUSE ITS HEAVY AF AND IT DONT HAVE DUALS.
Lol
The bad news is that you're wrong. It didn't lose because "its (sic) the biggest damn tractor that John Deere makes"

Kinze repower is the way to go with 8850s.
