That venetian is very educated on his roots & the history of the V,i like this interview & maybe u can get with him on gathering some historical timeline artifacts to bring some of the younger venetians up to speed on how special & one of a kind to a person who was really born & raised in VENICE during the years that is was a town full of proud blacks & mexicans who really got along & shared friendships on both sides where in l.a. those hoods that shared a hood w/black & hispanics never had the love & respect we had for each other.
And yes. Back in the days. I also grew up. Witnessing my grandma talk to everybody and help many people regardless of their race .gender .religion. And back then People would be friendly enough to tell their neighbor " hello"

I’ve always been cool with SA’s & they have always been cool with me. I just feel the crack era fucked it all up for both races. My uncle was a shoreline one of the first in the 60’s. Black folks was cool with the SA’s wasn’t any beef going on. Menudo was my grandpa favorite & my mom speaks Spanish fluently. If blacks & Mexicans were together white folks would be all F up
I was born in Santa Monica ..My Mom was a Venice Native and My dad was from Culver City ( rivals at the time) I loved running all over at the beach. My family sold the house in the 70' S . I went to Broadway and court d lane. . My Grandma worked at senior citizen center.. My My had over 50 first cousins and they lived close to each other.. I remember being at the Oakwood park in broad daylight .and my family and their homeboys were there. A car drove by and shot .my cousin got shot in the neck..he survived. I love a lot of the people who were from Venice. Sadly, many ended up in prison.on drugs or deceased too soon. But..some have actually changed their lives and actually made a difference in a positive way. But..the memories ..as a child. Even though there had been some violence.( that comes with gangs) once upon a time..there was love and unity..if only for a moment. It was a good time. And then reality of drugs and dumb territorial gang violence Etc Etc occurred.
I lived on San Juan street right across from OAKWOOD park all my aunties and uncles plus my moms went to Venice High School. My grandpa built that clock in Santa Monica & uncles ran the printing Press at the evening outlook newspaper. My peoples last name is Washington
Can u get some interviews of some ogs from Venice culver Santa Monica n sotel even Inglewood n Lennox that’s be crazy to hear the story of all this ese hood that go at it with each other it be one hella of a story to hear as I was growing up in early 2000 n getting hit up by rivals it was scary no bs but as I grew older started to throw the hands

I have to disagree. Once the canals got “remodeled” and the rich moved in, late 90’s, they put pressure on the cops to push fools out. Venice became a trendy Hollywood type spot. Abbot Kinney is basically Melrose but nicer now. Has been since then. All westsiders can’t afford to live in west LA. They’re in The Valley or south LA, Lawndale, Downey etc. no Sotels, SM’s or CXC can reall afford to live in their hoods anymore. Same for the V’s.
Man I grew up on oakwood and Broadway I livef in the heart of Venice this dude don't know what's up I was born in 1968 I knew all the vato locos from Venice this vato is a bootleg talk to me I know the real stories of the Mexican gangs
Just a suggestion But maybe change the name of your channel to maybe the homeless or homeless helper or something like that so that when people come across your RUclips channel name, they know what’s going on on. Just a marketing tip if you want to grow your channel
