Additional interior cargo lights are an option on the Ram Promaster. There two types of side mirror on the Promaster. The wide set mirrors are installed on yours. The other set is the narrower width. The narrower width are standard and a power folding mirror set is an option.
Looks like you have the base dash and center displays. Both bigger screens are an option. But there is a noticeable price for them. They come with additional technology options.
There is also a drivers side sliding door option available on the middle and long wheelbase vans.
The Promaster vans have a 4000 to 4400 pound payload capacity range depending on option kit and have a respectable towing capacity for a van. Somewhere around 7,000 pounds plus or minus.
The 280 ish hp v6 is the only engine choice. Ford Transit is the go too option is you want more power.

You know there are interior led light options right? And you can get a step too, but the floor height is already lower than all other cargo vans...

Yes I do know there is a LED light option but on the Ford van LED is a standard as well as having more lights and the option to turn them on or off from the rear. And I'm not talking about a step like a running board I'm talking about an actual built in step so when you open the doors on the Fords there is a small cutaway before you enter the flat floor I really do like how the RAM is lower it is the easiest fan to get cargo out of the back because you can get so close to it.

What did it get for Mpg?I can't find out anywhere. I have a 2014 with 530k miles. Original engine made it to 420k miles. Still on same transmission. Not the best build quality. But take care of it and it will definitely take you places and last a long time. Idling will kill the camshaft and rockers on this van. Long haul van it's great.

I was averaging around 15 to 16 mpg with mix driving. I would say about 65% was highway driving. You are very right if you take care of a vehicle you can really make them last!

You mentioned in comments below a 2023 Transit. Is this the Ford version? AWD. Not hearing great things on Ram vans I have been looking to create my own keep it simple easy build. But mainly maintenance mechanically free peace of mind decent power if possible in todays world? Thoughts? Would like if needed to pull a 1500# boat/trailer. Wdd as Mr to get out on the road travel see things. Don’t want to do a RV. Done the AZ park model thing last year. Bad mistake. Let me know your thoughts. I am a dyi guy with a man cave and enjoy doing my own work Thanks. Dave

I have videos on the Ford Transit Van, not the awd one, but I think out of the modern vans, the Ford is the best one tight now. The EcoBoost engine has the power you want to tow .

If you want a reliable work van get the ford transit I drive a 2019 ford transit not a single problem….

I totally agree with that! We had a transit van for years and it had 160,000 miles on it and was running strong when I semi hit me in the highway and was totaled but I walked away fine. The ProMaster was one of the vans we have for a while before we had a new van and it did all right but doesn't have the power and some of the nice features that the Ford has! We bought a 2023 Transit van with the EcoBoost I have a review of that van on the channel as well 👍

      Right…. 2 new engines, 2 new transmissions, 2 new catalytic converters, 2 driveshaft, 2 blower fans…
Again it don’t matter what you drive… the labor force has changed…. No pride in what they do….. all new vehicles are tha same….. good luck…. It’s a ford transit….

If you soften the tires does it soften the ride?

    • @MotorMikeMedia
      @MotorMikeMedia  Год назад

You could get smaller rims and little larger tire you can improve the ride a little bit.

@@MotorMikeMedia Thank you. The older 6 speeds were getting 14-15 in mixed driving and RAM was saying the new 9 speeds would see a 9% improvement so your numbers seem to be on track with that. Again, thank you.

It is a little bit small compared to some of the modern screens a lot of modern cars were 10 plus inches now lol

LMAO ! i drive the 2500 model and no way that motor and trans is sufficient . The transmission WILL NOT shift into 8th or 9th gear even when manually shifted .The fuel milage is horrid .The 5 bolt pattern is 1/2 ton at best , 2 leaf springs over the trailer axle will not handle the 1,800 lbs RAM claims . The 1 wheel drive is useless in snow , ice , mud or sand . The cab is cramped if it is set up with the headache panel /cargo separation panel . In a good side wind you could get pushed off the road . The drivers seat does not pushdown and i am bent over the wheel to see out the windshield . The seat platform leans forward so you are sliding towards the dash . i need to drive between 5 and 700 miles each day delivering heavy equipment or transport parts not a good choice for either .
