Hi Karen, oh I get this all the time especially at the neck and shoulders I am always making adjustments as I go, we are not one standard size fits all are we. Thank you for commenting.
@@diannessewingroom7 So talented. I’m hoping to take up sewing in a few months time once we’ve moved house and I actually have a craft room so in the meantime, I’m trying to gain some knowledge by watching videos 😊
@@Helene.BZH29 that's great, i hope I am a help. ☺️ I have started a new channel called Beyond the Sewing Room so all my new content is going on there.
Hi Dianne, love the fabric, and the dress looks good on you I enjoyed seeing the dress made up in a fabric other than what was recommended and having it turn out so well looking forward to your next video. Susan🌸🌼
Hi Susan thank you, I really liked the fabric so that was why I chose it. For anybody uncertain I would recommend using the suggested fabrics as sometimes the outcome can be very different. A crisp cotton would be easier for making the pleats for example. However this worked well and I like it. All the best.
Hi Liz, I won't no it just needs a little pinch, and the long sleeved t shirt I intend on wearing with this is very fitted too. Thank you for commenting, have a great week.
Hello Diane, I'm new to your channel, but I've watched quiet a few of your tutorials now, and I've really enjoyed all of them. Everything you make looks lovely on you. Have you been sewing a long time?.
Hi thank you for your kind comment. Yes I have since I was a teenager I bought my first machine at sixteen. Hand sewing from childhood. So making clothes over 30 years yikes!! I still cut corners on things for me though🤣. Have a good week.
Hi Mary thank you. The dress is just lined with regular polyester lining that I had left over. You could use cotton or the same fabric as the main dress if you wanted, I have done that before too. There are no additional interfacing pieces.
@@diannessewingroom7 Thanks Dianne. I have this book and I've been procrastinating making any of the garments! I'm going to have a go at making this dress. 😃
Hi Dianne. I love this tutorial but I'm really stuck on the part when you sew the arm holes together? How does the dress end up being the right way round? :/
Hi Emma, you have to sew around the armholes a bit at a time. So turn it through first if you are stuck, then stitch half way around turnining it to inside once you have your head around it, then turn back then go up the other side. If this is really stumping you, you could always turn it to right side, cut yourself some bias strips and bind the armholes from the outside. Hope this helps.
Very nice. It’s good to see that you make something and it doesn’t fit perfect like some sew along videos. Welcome to real sewing!

Your dress looks lovely. Will have a go at this pattern. Than you for sharing.
Hi, thank you I would love to hear how you get on with it.
What a gorgeous dress 🤩
Thank you. ☺️

Hi Lorraine thank you, just need the weather to wear it now!

I love the dress in your fabric. 😍
Thank you Bea, it was very slippery!
Love the fabric, Dianne. Don't take it in too much if you think you might wear something underneath in the cooler weather.

Thank you for an informative video. The dress looks lovely. What fabric did you use for the interfacing please?

@@MaryMary-tg6hc Hi Mary maybe use something inexpensive for your first attempt if you are unsure. Happy sewing.
