The house I grew up in has burned to the ground. I don’t live there now but I still feel a loss and I can’t imagine how difficult it is for those that live there now. I praying that those affected by these fires can find peace again and can be made as whole as possible. My heart goes out to you.
Grew up there too! We had a home there from 1970’s to 2016. Malibu fires in 1993 almost got us and we evacuated then when it was just 40 minutes away from burning our homes down. We got lucky then. The homes on our street all burned down. Also, the two elementary schools I went to are gone, and the high school. Only my middle school survived in Brentwood.
People are in shock and not acting normally. It may be a good idea to have a little compassion for others who are not in your shoes comfortably sitting in your home.

It's surprising to me that the same thing happened in Maui besides private homes, businesses people's livelihood were destroyed and they didn't get any help.
