In JJK, sorcerers can set limitations on themselves to gain something in return. Obvious example is Maki’s and Mechamaru’s heavenly restriction, although those are involuntary. Another example is Nanami sets a limit on his cursed energy throughout the day until 6pm, after that time he goes into overtime, which increases his cursed energy above normal levels.
I guess they forgot but these "conditions" were already introduced in s1 and has been shown throughout the series . Nanami explained how "revealing how your techniques work", what you gain is that it strengthens your technique. This is optional as well as seen by Todo "lying" or not fully revealing his technique(tbf I don't know how it will make his CT stronger anyways lol) The veils/barriers functions the same, for example "every sorcerer can enter the veil except Gojo".
It's just the same. Different translation on what it was called probably. They're fundamentally the same, it took something from them(Maki's cursed energy to the point she is like a regular human but with greater physical ability while mechamaru's normal bodily functions but he has greater curse energy and range for his technique) @@blinkasto182
Another example, I think, is Mei Mei mentioning how the locust curse from earlier stayed outside of the veil blocking sorcerers from entering Meiji Station's lowest level because the cursed nail thing was outside of the veil it produces - this makes it more risky, but also strengthens the veil's effects, in theory. I find the entire concept of pacts and restrictions fascinating, both in JJK and in Hunter x Hunter, which obviously inspired parts of the power system here, among other things.
No. A Heavenly Restriction and a Heavenly Pact are the same thing. Just a difference in translation. The manga translation team/more experienced JJK translators use "Heavenly Restriction". "Heavenly Pact" is used by the CR translation team. @@blinkasto182
From an audeince perspective it´s terrible seeing Gojo getting sealed like that. But from a narrative perspective it´s the best writing choice that Gege Akutami could have made. You could even say it was a necessary writing choice. Gojo needed to be removed from the storyif the stakes that Jujutsu Kaisen has set up here are to have any chacne of feeling meaningful. Otherwise it runs the risk of either using Gojo as a Deus Ex Machina where he saves everyone without effort or to have him conveniently not be present when the villains execute their plan. So Akutami needed to come up with a way to take Gojo out of the story that also didn´t feel cheap. Remember when Geto said in the last episode that Gojo is "just too strong and in the way of my plans". That is meta commentary from Gege saying "I have created a character that is way too broken for what I want to accomplish in this section of the stroy so I need to remove him). So they made the perfect compromise by having Gojo sealed away; Gojo is taken out of the stroy which raises the stakes, but without losing any of the weight tha tGojo carries as a carachter. You're bang on with the Hunter x Hunter parallel. It's exactly that. Jujutsu Kaisen's power system was VERY inspired by Nen, and one of the closest things is the limitations thing. It's manifested in JJK as Binding Vows. We know a few of them, so I'll just list some here and you'll probably see how a lot is similar to that: - Showing one's hands: this is the binding vow that makes your abilities stronger when you disclose information about them; - Nanami's overtime: he limits his Cursed Energy in work hours, giving him a buff whenever he's in overtime; - the vow Pseudo-Geto and Mahito made with Mechamaru when they were doing business; - Heavenly Restrictions: what Toji/Maki and Mechamaru have. This is a Binding Vow imposed on someone when they're born. In Toji's case, his complete lack of Cursed Energy meant that his body was absurdly stronger. In Mechamaru's case, the fact that his body was broken and he couldn't leave his bathtub gave him a lot of range for his technique, so he could control his Cursed Corpses (the robots). In the coming episodes, this will be more explored, but the basics have been laid out for a while now
Pseudo-Geto: "Regret, huh? Now... How did that taste again?" Subtitles should have been "... Regret, huh? I've forgotten what that feels like." This is Gege Akutami's way of foreshadowing how old Pseudo-Geto is.
that's interesting. for some reason I thought it might have been referencing how real-Geto used to taste regret when he used to have to eat those curses (which are made up of all those negative human emotions).
i am under the impression that calling someone 'nanamin' if their name is 'nanami' is super casual and borderline disrespectful, based on nanami's reaction in season 1 when yuji called him that. also ino's reaction (the other guy in team nanami) further shows this
From my experience living in Japan, something -min is a cute way of making a nickname. Generally used for female in real life. For example, Yuko → Yukomin, Manami → Manamin.
I don't think this fake geto is a curse, in episode 6 from S1 he smiled and insulted hanami right after she went to save jogo from gojo by saying "what a thing to say coming from a cursed spirit". This episode he yet again threw shade at the twins by saying "these cursed spirits are smarter than you two", and later he said when you're dealing with a sorcerer you have to make sure it's a pact otherwise you're conned.

i assume that if it's a normal sorcerer it would work fine, like you can carry it after sealing, but since gojo is not normal the intel processor inside is taking too long and changed it's density? lol

Jujutsu Kaisen is literally Bleach, Naruto/Naruto Shippuden & HunterxHunter in one that’s why it is so good🔥🔥🔪
Sam and Dani dislike Naruto, so that kind of ironic in a way😅😅
How is it like Naruto? I'm curious bc I haven't watched it but I have a general idea
With some yu yu hakusho mixed it. Geto is very similar to Sensui
@JR-yd5pf on a surface level the main casts are the exact same formula as Naruto's ofc the details are different
It really takes the best parts of basically every major shonen and blends them together so well
