Hey, man! Ran across your video while researching the placement of my tanks. I actually have an ‘07 RE International, myself and have been converting it slowly for a while now. My layout is similar to your center drawing. Any idea how you’re planning on dealing with the air intake cowling jn the rear? Also, pro tip: Sketchup or some other 3D modeling software is an amazing tool for planning out/executing your build. It really helped me in getting precise measurements and dimensions for everything. Anyways, I decided against my original plan for the tanks thanks to your advice in the video. I’ll be watching as your conversion come together!
Hello 👋! Congratulations on the build out of your Bus! Exciting times. I’ve seen others cut the air intakes out and to be honest I don’t think it’s a good idea. With the radiator being rear facing and engine cooling package is dependent on those scoops to funnel cool air down to the engine. My plan it to leave them in place and put my dogs bed on the engine cover between them. It will become their place to sleep and hang out. While I really to like google sketchup, I just prefer pencil and paper. Maybe I’m behind the time and old school but it’s served me well for years. I appreciate you watching and commenting. I hope that it was helpful some small way. I’m not an expert but maybe by sharing my thoughts, I can help others.
