  • Now that we’ve got the Jeep it’s time to see what she’s capable of! What better way than with a group of new friends that we met for the first time today with a like-minded interest in off-roading!
It really was an awesome day exploring a new area and seeing what our Jeep is capable of, while also seeing people we know do absolutely CRAZY things.
So what do you think? Have you been to Hollister Hills? Do you have any other good places to go? Let me know in the comments!
And if you like this video, please consider giving it a 👍 and subscribing! Every little bit helps, and I really appreciate it!
    Until next time! ✌️

Just got Gladiator Rubicon and will check that place out, but won't be going over crazy stuff and create damage just to prove a point. Hey, some people love that- go for it$$$

One thing, get a Milwaukee 18v air compressor. Worth it's weight in gold.

They did not. I just paid for the day and was on my way. Hope that helps!

Some other suggestions...Cow Mountain was a pretty fun BLM OHV area back in the day...the Rubicon is always a winner - I've never gone all the way through but I love to start on the CA side at wentworth(?) springs to the first set of lakes (Spider). Hit me up if you ever meet up again, I have two young kids too that I'd love to take off roading with =)

Thank you brother, really appreciate the tips! I was in Tahoe a few weeks ago and had wanted to try some trails that branched off the Rubicon entrance near the lake (not sure what it's called), but it was still completely snowed in. Not sure how far we need to get into summer for it to all burn off, but I'm definitely itching to get out again. I'm trying to get the overland tent sorted at the moment, and that'll open up a whole new range of things we can do. Where are you located? Do you have any go to local spots these days?

@@FlawlessActivity it may be best to wait until Sept. for the Rubicon as all the “kids” will be back in school. I’m in Livermore, I haven’t done any off-roading since my son was born but I’m going to try and ease myself back in at Hollister this summer I hope. When my Jeep club was active we’d go to Hollister/cow mountain mainly for meet ups and those more inclined would go to Loon Lake and Wentworth then ride to Spider lake…we weren’t a hardcore group with trailered rigs but that loop was enough! Hit me up if you ever head out again, I’d love to join!

90% of the pinstripes on my Mo(jave)-chine is owed tò Hollister Hills! I love that you can step up as your skill level increases.
Well except those times that you turned down an unlabled black diamond and then you become a jedi knight and fly by the seat of your pants, and "the force"...
But now we live near the desert in southern CA, and I feel ready for nearly anything. I have a few more mods I want to make to the Mo-chine, money comes by a lot slower down here.
So much fun, but also so expensive, jeep ownership!

Very interesting, I haven't had a chance to run a lot of Hollister Hills yet, but I'm really looking forward to going back! I also love that there is a lot of variety from easy to hard and you're not forced outside your comfort zone (though I haven't accidentally driven down a black diamond yet!). I'm curious, knowing what you know now, do you think paint protection film is a good idea, or do the pinstripes add character in your opinion? Completely agree about the cost. I've got an appointment for new gears and onboad air in a week, and it will cost a pretty penny, but for the ability to adventure, it's worth it!🍻

@IcyHotStuntazOnRUclips because of where I got the jeep, it already had a protectant on (the Dodge/Jeep dealership I bought from was in a field, hadn't built a full fledged dealership yet, though now they do- so CA law said all their vehicles had to be coated) I don't know Jeep ownership without a coating- the stuff I got now is a seven year application, but still I get scrapes, but no gouges.
California weeds are tough! I would get something. Maybe better than a paint job every 2 or 3 years... rust is a horrible thing.

@BillyBennecke right on! That's awesome! Really appreciate the reply, it helps a lot! As with all things Jeep related, pay me now or pay me later, usually doing it right once the first time is the best approach. I definitely plan on keeping her for the long haul, so your advice is probably best!👌

If you’re going to off-road your rig you shouldn’t worry about pin striping. If that’s a concern best to stick to fire roads and parking lot meets.

Thanks! Yea, it is a very awesome build! I love all of the small touches with the orange powder coating. Plus the owner isn't afraid to drive the wheels off of it! I hope to be that bold someday. I'll work my way up to it!
